More DWTS All Star Media Rounds For Karina Smirnoff And Apolo Ohno (Videos)

Karina Smirnoff and Apolo Ohno were on Good Morning America today. You can watch them talk all things Dancing With The Stars All Stars HERE (due to a script issue, I took the video below out).

Stay tuned to this spot! The two are also going to be on The Wendy Williams Show today. We’ll post that coverage as soon as it’s made available.

ADDING: TV Guide has just released a scouting report by Karina and Apolo on their co-stars. This is fun. Below is a little take….

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
Probably the most controversial cast member, Palin finished third on Season 11 with Ballas.
Ohno says: She’s totally different now. I think it’ll surprise people.
Smirnoff says: No matter what people say — like maybe Bristol wasn’t the best dancer, but she was the most improved dancer of that season. So on this show, there’s the likability factor, the skill, but also the journey. Who has the biggest journey, the biggest arc of learning how to dance? I think Bristol had it. I’m excited to see what she does now. She had some memorable dances — the monkey dance. Some people can pull that off.

Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya
The 98 Degrees singer won Season 2 with Burke, and Trebunskaya has been runner-up twice, including to Lachey.
Ohno says: Drew’s gonna do well. He’s hungry, I can tell, and I love it. I love the competitiveness. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got. He didn’t do as much [dancing in 98 Degrees], but he’s won this.
Smirnoff says: Anna’s a fantastic teacher, so Drew’s in great hands. Drew had one of the most memorable freestyles on the show. If we take Drew out before the final in the back alley of CBS [Studios, where the show films], that might help us.

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough
Johnson won Season 8 with Ballas, and Hough is a three-time champ.
Ohno says: The only other people who have experienced this intense type of competition with this kind of training are Shawn and Emmitt. … I love Shawn. She dances incredibly. She’s kind of like Joey. She learns dances really fast.
Smirnoff says: She does. Why don’t you learn them really fast?
Ohno says: I don’t know. I’m just pounding the fish.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy Talks Of DWTS, His Future Retirement Plans, And More

Maks Chmerkovskiy tells the New York Post post that he has no plans of coming back to Dancing With The Stars after his contract expires at the end of next year. He says he plans to pursue acting and possibly a reality show with his brother, Val. He has also secured the lead in a major studio movie, which begins filming in January. Maks also talks of Kirstie Alley and how he is not a one sided personality. More below and at the link!

We may have had a couple of weeks last time that we cruised on popularity or fan appeal or whatever,” he says.

“But I am not really sure that is going to work for us this time. I am not sure people are going to vote for us just because it is us.”

Since joining the show in Season 2, Maks — who owns four dance studios in the NYC area — has become one of “Dancing’s” most polarizing personalities.

He famously fired an f-bomb backstage at judge Carrie Ann Inaba in 2011 and once suggested acid-tongued judge Len Goodman should retire.

In a recently published book, former partner Hope Solo even accused him of slapping her during rehearsals — which he has been instructed not to discuss.

“But I am not doing that ‘Maks thing’ anymore,” he says. “I don’t think I need to, and I don’t want to. It did what it did for me, but I want people to know that I am not a one-sided personality. I am a lot of fun to watch, even without constant drama.”

Sad! I hate to hear the long time pros talking of retiring, but, as Heidi and Court have warned us so many times in the past, it’s going to happen. It’s something we have to accept, but, it’s still so hard. 🙁 So, what movie do you think Maks is talking about?

ADDING: Tony and Melissa were on Access Hollywood today. Below is their reaction to the news of Maks is retiring….

DWTS Tony Dovolani And Melissa Rycroft Hope They Are The Whole Package This Time (Rehearsal Interview)

Below is a new interview with Tony Dovolani and Melissa Rycroft. They talk of how glad they are to have three weeks to prepare for their first dance verses only a couple of days the first time they danced together. They are ready to go and they have been working hard on technique (their biggest issue the first time). They hope they are the whole package now. What do you think? They seem confident which I’m glad for. I really wish these two the best. I’d love to see them come out super strong. (I love this interviewer from Access Hollywood. Good questions!)

ADDING: Also, be sure you see US Magazine as well. They have some quotes up from Melissa (one is featured below) and a fun title shoot picture.

“We’re all right there and they’re all about the same age. Maybe they can start a Dancing With the Stars baby playground or something!” Rycroft jokes.

Speaking of Lachey, Rycroft views the former 98 Degrees heartthrob as healthy competition. “I’m anxious to see what Drew, Kelly [Monaco], Pam [Anderson] and Kirstie [Alley have] got,” the contestant hints. “It’s been a long time but I betcha they’re gonna come out with some certain fire that’s going to surprise. I’m excited!”

ADDING: Here they are again on the show again! This his time on the COUCH!

Bristol Palin Is Planning To Challenge Herself On Dancing With The Stars And Have Fun

Bristol Palin tells People.com that her main goal on Dancing With The Stars is to just have fun. She’s taking the all-star season seriously, but it’s not going to be all work and no play. Below is a take with more and you can also watch a video at People.com

Not that it will be easy. Palin, who is reuniting with professional partner Mark Ballas, admits she’ll have butterflies when she enters the ballroom.

“You still get nervous,” she says. “But I like being out of my comfort zone. I like challenging myself and this is the perfect place to do that.”

She also admits to being a little rusty. “I haven’t danced at all,” she says. “I still refuse to dance at a wedding or anything like that, just because I’m pretty shy … People are expecting you to whip out the quick-step or something and that’s just not me.”

Also, for those interested, Bristol will be blogging at Access Hollywood during her dancing With The Stars journey which you can read about here.

Each week, Bristol will share an exclusive inside look at the highs and lows from her “Dancing” journey, as well as her take on the behind-the-scenes action and what the cameras didn’t capture from the ABC reality series’ upcoming season.

DWTS15 Drew Lachey And Anna Trebunskaya Interviewed About Getting To Know One Another, Foxtrot Nerves, And More

Drew Lachey & Anna Trebunskaya Facebook have a great interview up with Drew and Anna. They discuss rehearsals and what it’s been like getting to know each other. Below is more including some thoughts on their first dance which Drew seems a little nervous about? I don’t think he has anything to worry about, do you? Then again, the judges can be MEAN!

Q6 6 Cathy Boorman Drew, having done so well your first time on the show, did you agonize over doing the AllStars or did you jump in with both feet when asked? P.S. Wishing you great good luck!
Drew: I jumped right in. The only question was how our family would
logistically work things out. After that was worked out, it was a no
brainer. I had such a good time doing the show the first time, I was
excited by the opportunity to step back into the ballroom

Q7 Linda Webb What is your first dance
Anna: It is the foxtrot
Drew: Foxtrot…… at least that is what I would call it. We’ll see
what the judges call it.

Q8 Paulette Dean Question for Drew and Anna: What is one thing you’ve learned about each other since you started rehearsing together?
Anna: That Drew is a wonderful husband and father, besides being a very talented person.
Drew: Anna is a Tea-a-holic. She cannot get enough of the stuff. And
I’m not talking about your everyday run of the mill tea. She likes
the good stuff
