DWTS14 Week 8 Louis Van Amstel With Some Last Minute Thoughts Before Showtime

Louis breaks it down before showtime with his thoughts and who he’s worried for the most tonight. Note how he is worried for Maria which shocks me. I think she will be fine (unless her feet are an issue tonight?).

Terrible Two-fer
If the pressure of learning two dances to perform in one night wasn’t enough for our top six, DWTS is making sure the stress is stacked higher than a precarious game of Jenga. With two sure-fire eliminations this week, it’s one false (dance) move, and you’re out. “Now, they’re going to separate the boys from the guys and the girls from the women … it’s do or die,” says Amstel. “America’s not stupid … If anyone was banking on using a trick to win over the audience, it’s too late. Now you’ve got to show your true colors.”

And who’s staring down the barrel of elimination in Amstel’s eyes? He says Melissa Gilbert, Roshon Fegan, and Maria Menounos are in trouble. “I’m surprised Melissa is still there, based on the judges’ scores,” says Amstel. But when it comes to Menounos, who was rewarded with a perfect score alongside her partner Derek Hough last week, Amstel is a little more hopeful. “I love Maria to death and this is Derek’s best season as far as choreography goes. Still I’m a little worried for her,” he says.

Two’s Company, Three’s a Party!
But who needs a double when you can have a triple? This week also deals the twist of a never-before-seen (on DWTS) trio dance for each of our top six finalists. This means that each celeb will dance with his or partner as well as another professional dancer. “For the pro that’s still in the competition, adding another pro can help. It makes it a little easier,” says Amstel.

And while the idea of choreographing a group routine and teaching the celeb to handle the dynamics of an extra person on the dance floor might test a skill the pros haven’t yet honed, this could actually help take some of the heat off of the celeb contestant. “This is kind of a break,” Amstel says. “Normally you have two solo dances and you have to worry about the celebrity, but here you can make it more fun and entertaining.” Of course, being that we’re down to six, the contestants will also dance regular duets with their partners as well.

I love his thoughts on the Trio dance. Who’s ready?

Pure Dancing With The Stars Season 14, Week 8 Odds And Ends Weekend Special

What do we have here? Well, pull up a chair, grab a drink of your preference , and let’s see. 🙂

First up and courtesy of Zimbio pictures, Katherine Jenkins and Dancing With The Stars Season 14 competitor, Jack Wagner, attended BritWeek 2012’s “Evening with Piers Morgan” last night in Beverly Hills, California. Katherine looks so pretty as always and isn’t it great to see Jack again? More with him in a bit.

Also, former Dancing With The Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne was also in attendance. I really do like her hair purple like that. I know. I am weird.

Below is a new picture of Maria Menounos as she hosted a new episode of “Extra” with her left foot in an air cast at the Grove in Los Angeles on Thursday. According to our Miss Heidi, Maria has been wearing the cast since Tuesday night after the show. Picture also courtesy of Zimbio Pictures.

Chris Brown, A Dick Clark Tribute, and More To Entertain On Dancing With The Stars

ABC Media Net has released details for next week’s dances and judging. Details below as well as who will be singing and dancing in the pro numbers.

“Episode 1408 & 1408A” – The competition heats up as the remaining six couples hit the ballroom with two rounds of competitive dance performances, a ballroom dance and the Trio dance — both of which will be a style that they’ve not yet performed, MONDAY, MAY 7 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. During the Trio dance, a “DWTS” first, each couple will be allowed to add an extra professional dancer to their routine. The second dancer will be chosen from a pool of eliminated pros and members of The Troupe. In addition to their regular criteria for judging dance routines, the judges will pay extra attention to how well each celebrity is showcased in the performance with an extra dancer in the mix.

Grammy Award winner Chris Brown takes to the stage with an incredible performance of his hit song “Turn Up the Music,” on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” TUESDAY, MAY 8 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. “Turn Up the Music,” written and produced by The Underdogs and Fuego, is Brown’s first single off his eagerly anticipated new album, “Fortune,” which releases May 8th.

Also during Tuesday night’s show, Dmitry Chaplin and Anya Garnis will perform a special routine from the “Dancing with the Stars Live in Las Vegas Show” to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” “Macy’s Stars of Dance” will be an “American Bandstand” tribute to the legendary Dick Clark. The performance will be a huge dance number featuring pro dancers Karina Smirnoff, Tony Dovolani and the Troupe, choreographed by Jamal Sims and Wendy Johnson, and will pay homage to “American Bandstand,” representing four decades of the popular music show, with many of the original “Bandstand” regulars joining us in the audience.

By Tuesday evening’s end, two couples will be eliminated, as determined by a combination of the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes on dances performed on Monday’s performance show.

Wow, “A Dick Clark” Tribute…sounds really cool!! I loved American Bandstand. I use to watch it just for the dancing every week.

Mark Ballas Gives Teasers For Next Dances On Dancing With The Stars Week 8

Mark Ballas has penned a new blog at USA Today giving us an update on he and Katherine’s next dances. He also gives us a hint of who their dance pro might be for their Trio dance. More below. You can read about his reactions to last week’s dances, elimination, and see a fun picture at the link.

The Viennese waltz is probably one of my favorites of the ballroom dances, and I’m really excited we were given a beautiful piece of music. I have come up with a romantic, heart-wrenching concept to help us execute this dance and the overall concept definitely has a Titanic/Romeo and Juliet vibe.

Katherine is doing really well with both dances. I had them both choreographed and finished by Thursday. That’s early and, for me, it’s a first. Now we are just cleaning up the routines, adding refinement and conformation of choreography.

The Latin round promises to be fun as there is a new challenge for all of the couples. It’s called the “Trio” round, meaning we can recruit another professional dancer for that routine. I am thrilled that we got the pro I wanted. I can’t tell you who it is but let’s just say this: I hope this pro helps us find a lucky pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! And maybe this experience will motivate the mystery dancer to finally sign up on Twitter.

So, who do you think the pro is? I think we all know. 🙂

His favorite dance so far has been the Michael Jackson Samba. He also loved the Salsa. Cool interview. I didn’t realize Roshon played so many instruments!!
