PureDWTS Season 27, Week 7: Who’s Dancing What, And When?

Country week. Um, yes. No. All it means is we’ll have yet another week of dances that don’t go with the assigned song.

Gee, who didn’t know that there were team dances next week, since IT WAS ANNOUNCED ON THE SHOW.  :::rolls eyes:::  Yes, it is a tad annoying when people come on to this site like they have some great intel we didn’t know…and it was something announced on the show. Also spare me the “I figure, based on instagram…”  unless you’re a long time poster here. Newbies doing that just make my eyes roll out of my head.

Anyway, the teams are….scroll……. (my money’s on Milo)

ETA4: Dance order update from Cheryl’s instagram…her team is last also.

Juan Pablo & Cheryl – Charleston (song: “One Shot” by Hunter Hayes)
Dancing 3rd
1-800-868-3408

Milo & Witney – foxtrot (song: “Born to Love You” performed live by LANCO)
1-800-868-3410

John & Emma – jazz (song: “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver)
1-800-868-3407

DeMarcus & Lindsay – Viennese waltz (song: “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton)
1-800-868-3404

Evanna & Keo – rumba (song: “Every Little Thing” performed live by Carly Pearce)
1-800-868-3405

Alexis & Alan – samba (song: “Ladies in the ’90s” performed live by Lauren Alaina)
1-800-868-3401

Joe & Jenna – tango (song: “Burning Man” by Dierks Bentley feat. Brothers Osbourne)
1-800-868-3406

Bobby & Sharna – V. Waltz (Song: “Can’t Help Falling in Love” performed by Chris Janson)
Dancing last
1-800-868-3402

ETA: Well, just to show you that they like to switch things up, it’s team captain Bobby Bones, ya’ll. And Team JoeDown, which I think someone mentioned in comments but I’m too lazy to go back and look. Entertainment Tonight clarified the team names for us…but I don’t think there is any other new information in there. You can click the link to see some photos though.

ETA2: Got one of the songs.  I heart Dolly. Don’t bungle this, Bones. -Court-

ETA3: All songs & dances up.  If John’s headed home come Monday, I think he’ll at least be going out on a high note with that song/dance. DeMarcus hit the jackpot with his song – everyone seems just bonkers over Chris Stapleton these days.  -Court-

Team HayNow (song: “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton)
Milo and Witney
Evanna and Keo
Bobby and Sharna
John and Emma

Team Joe Down (song: “Country Girl” by Luke Bryan) Dancing Last
Juan and Cheryl
DeMarcus and Lindsay
Alexis and Alan
Joe and Jenna

PureDWTS Season 27, Week 6: Who’s Dancing What, And When?

Looks like we’re getting a number from the Tour cast, the Jabawockees are going to be on….this is from the press release. I’ll spare you the very bad puns.  We also get tWitch!

Stephen “tWitch” Boss, will choreograph and dance to a delightfully eerie number based on a music video from Freeform’s “31 Nights of Halloween,” with his spectacular dancers, including his wife and former “Dancing with the Stars” pro, Allison Holker.

Moulin Rouge???  Um. Okay.  Ordinarily a tango to that would be awesome, but Halloween and JOE??  Lord save us. 🙂

ETA: Here’s the running order….and it’s total crap. :::rolls eyes:::

Milo & Witney – Contemporary  (Song: “Toxic” by 2WEI)
Dancing 1st
1-800-868-3410

John & Emma – Paso Doblé  (Song: “Main Titles” from “Beetlejuice,” by Ray Chew Live)
Dancing 2nd
1-800-868-3407

DeMarcus & Lindsay – Salsa  (Song: “Under Your Spell” by Leo Soul)
Dancing 3rd
1-800-868-3404

Evanna & Keo –  Tango  (Song: “Disturbia” by Rihanna)
Dancing 4th
1-800-868-3405

Bobby & Sharna – Argentine Tango  (Song: “Mr. Sandman” by SYM)
Dancing 5th
1-800-868-3402

Mary Lou & Sasha – Tango  (Song:  “Shame” by Elle King)
Dancing 6th
1-800-868-3409

Alexis & Alan – Jazz  (Song: “Candyman” by Christina Aguilera )
Dancing 7th
1-800-868-3401

Joe & Jenna – Argentine Tango  (Song: “El Tango de Roxanne” from “Moulin Rouge”)
Dancing 8th
1-800-868-3406

Juan Pablo & Cheryl –  Jive  (Song: “Dead Man’s Party” by Atwater Men’s Club)

PureDWTS Season 27, Week 5: Who’s Dancing What, And When?

Disney Night. :::sigh:::  Who will likely do well?? Alexis, Milo, Evanna are the three who I can see really doing well with their dances and corresponding themes. DeMarcus likely will, but a charleston could be interesting. Will they continue to lowball the hell out of him?  JP…question is, can Cheryl finally make him happen??  Bobby will be interesting to watch. Can he harness all that energy into a beautiful waltz??

ETA: Updated with running order.  Right off the bat, good to see Milo closing the show – I think that’s a good sign for him. Juan Pablo going 2nd is concerning – especially since he went first last week and was a bit of a non-event. Joe likely dancing at the top of the 2nd hour makes me think he’s probably not headed home. -Court-

Alexis & Alan – Foxtrot  (Song: “Just Around the Riverbend” from Pocahontas)
1-800-868-3401
Dancing 1st

Juan Pablo & Cheryl – V. Waltz  (Song: “Gaston” from Beauty and the Beast)
1-800-868-3408
Dancing 2nd

DeMarcus & Lindsay –  Charleston  (Song: “A Star is Born” from Hercules)
1-800-868-3404
Dancing 3rd

Evanna & Keo –  Jazz (Song: “When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled)
1-800-868-3405
Dancing 4th

Joe & Jenna – Jive  (Song: “Zero” from Ralph Breaks the Internet)
1-800-868-3406
Dancing 5th

Mary Lou & Sasha – Contemporary (Song: “Reflection” from Mulan)
1-800-868-3409
Dancing 6th

John & Emma – Quickstep  (Song: “I Wan’na Be Like You” from The Jungle Book (seriously?))
1-800-868-3407
Dancing 7th

Bobby & Sharna – Waltz  (Song: “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid”)
1-800-868-3402
Dancing 8th

Milo & Witney –  Quickstep (Song: “Incredits 2” from Incredibles 2)
1-800-868-3410
Dancing 9th

PureDWTS Season 27 Cast Rumors & Watchout: Interesting Things on Social Media

In the absence of any solid intel at the moment, it’s time for the usual “interesting things” on social media post, where we speculate on peculiar things we see the pros/possible celebs doing on social media that might suggest they’re a part of this season of DWTS. There were so many people that hit me up with messages on Twitter and IG, so I apologize if your name’s not mentioned…I kinda just want to get this post up, and I didn’t have the energy to sort through my @ mentions and DM’s and try to credit each item individually.  Just know that if you helped point any of this out to me, I am grateful! 🙂 Read more..

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

DWTS Season 24 – Derek Hough Blogs About His Uncertain Future on the Show

Derek is still mulling over the packages that he and Marilu got this season…and then he seques into talking about possibly not being back next season. I see those two thoughts as somewhat connected, but we also have to realize that this guy’s career is picking up speed. Who knows what all he has lined up that he’s not talking about yet? 🙂 Something to look forward to, for sure!! From TV Guide:

I don’t want to dwell on the rehearsal package again after last week. It is what it is. I would hope that the audience and longtime fans know and understand by now that in a short package, it’s a very faint reflection of the reality of the week. Saying that though, given my schedule this season, the only thing that I think was a bummer was that we weren’t able to do anything out of studio or an environment that wasn’t a dance studio. When you do that, you’re able to see another side to people, where it’s not just you rehearsing and working. I think that in contrast to other packages, which was everyone traveling and doing things and having fun, it’s kind of a bummer. Whenever Marilu and I saw each other, the only time we had was to get the routines down and work as hard and as fast as we can. I think we were both prepared for a possible elimination. After being part of the show for so long, you get a sense of what’s going to happen based on a bunch of things. I think we were both expecting it, but also we’re very proud. Week 9 is nothing to turn your nose up at. She did incredibly well.

—–

I don’t know if I’ll be back next season. It’s too early to say. I have a few projects on my plate, but you never know what’s going to happen. I didn’t think I was going to come back to the show a couple times now and ended up coming back. That show will always be my family.

Right now, I’m working on Hairspray. Julianne and I are also hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas specials for ABC. We were rehearsing until like 11 p.m. last night for it. It’s going to be fun. I love Disney and ABC, so I’m stoked to be doing this. The Thanksgiving one airs Thanksgiving at 8/7c and the Christmas ones airs Christmas at 8/7c.

If you’re in L.A. this weekend, I will have two photography pieces on display at The Salon on Saturday. I’m very excited — it’s the first time I’ve ever had anything displayed. They’re signed and will be for sale. Photography’s been a hobby and passion of mine for several years, so I’m humbled to displayed alongside other great, inspiring artists.

There’s no update on Singin’ in the Rain yet. As of now, it’s still on hold. Hopefully there’ll be some news in the new year! But I need to get my butt to New York to see Mark in Jersey Boys soon!

PureDWTS Season 20 – Casting Rumor Round-Up

So it’s that time again – we’re at t minus 69ish hours until the cast announcement, and it’s time to take stock of all the casting rumors we’ve seen thus far.  As always, I’ve divided the rumors up by how likely they are to actually be on this season – “legitimate possibilities” are names we’ve heard multiple times from multiple (reputable) sources, or stars that have dropped some big hints themselves; “longshots” are names we’ve heard and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they’d do the show, but they’re less likely than the “legitimate possibilities”; “wannabes/campaigners” are stars that have said they would do the show if asked, or are actively trying to get on the show, but haven’t been reported as an actual rumor by another source; “pure randomness” is just that – things we’ve seen that are interesting and might or might not mean anything, but are worth mentioning nonetheless; and the “definite no’s” are those that have said no, they wouldn’t do the show if asked. I also added a new category – PDWTS Guesses – which are just that: guesses we’ve made, based on nothing else but gut feelings we’ve had.  They are NOT RUMORS! Just our own guesses, based on whatever 🙂

We’ve included links to our previous posts on these rumors, to jog your memory.  And it’s all in one handy-dandy place…because we love you 🙂 And accept no substitutes, kids – any blog can slap a “rumor roundup” label on something, but that doesn’t mean it’s as good as the real thing…we’ve been calling ours “rumor roundup” for YEARS 😉

ETA #1: With US Weekly basically confirming the Daily Mail’s claims, it’s pretty much confirmed that Val’s partner is Rumer WillisAnd then DancingABC posted the below pic with a clue about Emma’s partner…who else thinks it’s motorcycling enthusiast Chris Soules?

ETA #2: The Shane Harper randomness has gained some traction, so I’m upgrading him from “pure randomness to “legitimate possibility”; we’ve got Michael Sam’s name thrown in the mix, which has made me downgrade Malcolm Butler & Russell Wilson to longshots, since they’ve never had more than one football player on the same season; and the DancingABC Instagram has thrown us another clue, with Mark’s partner hidden behind a curtain of blonde hair.  I’m thinking it’s Savannah Chrisley, who has sported varying lengths (and shades) of blonde over the years, and Mark seems to be the designated pro for good Christian girls 😛 Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a long night of updates?

Who is Emma Slater’s partner? The #DWTS cast will be revealed live TOMORROW on @goodmorningamerica #GMADancing

PureDWTS18 Week 5 Post Media And Interviews, Some Dances Revealed For Party Anthem Week

Wow, what a show last night from the graphics, the songs, the stories, the characters, and the dancing. We really have to commend the whole cast, the costume designers, the make up crew, and producers for everything put into this show. My Dad called right after the show and was going wild about it. *sigh an unforgettable evening for sure!!

So, for media starters and interviews after the show today, be sure to see ABC7. George Pennacchio has a great recap and some interviews. You can also view him interviewing the couples at On The Red Carpet as they uploaded some of their interviews in the night and they are excellent as always. Don’t miss them at this link and keep checking back for more. Below are a few of them. From these interviews so far, we learned that Maks & Meryl have a Tango next for Party Anthem Week. Val & Danica, Sharna & Charlie, Mark & Candace have a Cha Cha (more revealed as you scroll down).

You can also see some beautiful photos of the cast dancing at On The Red Carpet and the Daily Mail.

Also, JC Rubio (love him! He’s just as good as George!) interviewed the couples last night for Afterbuzz TV. Below is Amy & Derek and Maks & Meryl. Note how Derek & Amy have a Jive next. Read more..

Official: Dancing With The Stars Season 18 To Premiere March 17th!!

The premiere date for Dancing With The Stars Season 18 was just announced at the Television Critics Association Winter 2014 Press Tour. Here is a tweet from TV Guide. Set your calendars for March 17th!!

Other ABC premiere dates: #DWTS on Monday, March 17 at 8/7c and #TheBlackBox on Thursday, April 24 at 10/9c. #TCA14

ETA: Other tweets with info that took place:

From TVGuide Canada:

“We’re going to continue to work with Maks” on #DWTS, but Paul Lee won’t say anything more #TCA14

Hmmm, I wonder if that means he will judge again? I thought he did a great job the last time. I wouldn’t mind seeing him doing it again. Though not sure I want him to judge full time?

From TVGuide:

Lee: We were pleased with #DWTS on one night. It opened up Tuesdays for us. #TCA14

What do you think of this news? I think it’s for the best and I ended up liking it more.

ETA2: Below is a take from ABC MediaNet. Note how it mentions there will be 12 celebs again:

“DANCING WITH THE STARS” (Monday, March 17, 8:00-10:00 p.m., ET)

“Dancing With the Stars” returns for its 18th season with an all-new celebrity cast. The competition will feature twelve celebrities who will brave the dance floor for the very first time. Each week, these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master technical choreography and entertaining performances. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and win the coveted mirror-ball trophy.

Hosted by Emmy® Award-winning Tom Bergeron (“America’s Funniest Home Videos”) and Brooke Burke-Charvet (“Dancing with the Stars” Season 7 Champion), “Dancing with the Stars” is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

“Dancing with the Stars” is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Conrad Green, Ashley Edens-Shaffer and Joe Sungkur are executive producers. Alex Rudzinski directs.

ETA3: Below is more from E Online;

Despite some shocking eliminations throughout DWTS’ 17th season, Lee revealed that the network is pleased with the new one-night format and it helped with the series’ ratings. “It actually grew. We didn’t quite end the season as high, but the season itself was higher.”

The ABC president explained that season 18 will also follow the one-night trend. “We want to find ways to turn that up just a little bit. We were pleased with how it worked for us,” he said.

Fans were thrilled to see a mini-shake up on the judges’ panel when former professional dancer Max Chmerkovskiy filled in for head judge, Len Goodman, for an episode. Lee agreed that he loved Max’s creative input and there’s a possibility that we could be seeing the hunky Ukranian back with a paddle in his hand. “We thought Max did a fabulous job and we’re going to continue working with him in the future. Nothing to announce now, but we will keep working with him,” he said.
