We’re finally here for the finale of Dancing with the Stars season 11. Since this is the DWTS music post, I’ll say that we had an average year for the music on Dancing with the Stars. There have been worse years, but the music wasn’t anything to write home about either. What do you think?

Dancing with the Stars Top 4 Music List

What did everyone think of the dancing and music tonight? This episode is usually the one where the low paddles are put away and it’s all about praising the dancers. Seems like this was mostly the case again tonight. Although, thankfully they still didn’t give Bristol a 10. She’s a sweet girl I guess, but 10 and her dancing don’t seem to go together for me.

Anyway, enough of that. On to the list of music from this episode of DWTS.

Brandy & Maksim danced a Paso Doble to the song “Firework” Firework - Teenage Dream (Deluxe Edition)—Katy Perry
Brandy & Maksim danced a Argentine Tango to the song “Taquito Militar” Taquito Militar - Tango for Dancing—Conjunto Tipico Del Tango
Jennifer & Derek danced a Cha-Cha-Cha to the song “Mercy” Mercy - Rockferry—Duffy
Jennifer & Derek danced a Waltz to the song “Way Over Yonder” Way Over Yonder - Tapestry (Legacy Edition)—Carole King

John Legend and Taio Cruz on Dancing with the Stars

Back again for tonight’s music from the special guests. As always be sure to check out last night’s DWTS music as well.

John Legend sang “Wake Up Everybody” Wake Up Everybody (Live In Studio Performance) [feat. Black Thought] - Wake Up! (Deluxe Version) with Cheryl Burke, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, and Chelsie Hightower performing.

John Legend sang “Ordinary People” Ordinary People - Get Lifted with Mark Ballas and Jeanine Mason performing. I of course was happy to see Jeanine Mason (of SYTYCD fame) dancing with Mark Ballas on tonight’s show. It’s kind of an interesting mix of ballroom and contemporary. Looks like Jeanine enjoyed the experience.

Taio Cruz sang “Dynamite” Dynamite - Rokstarr (Bonus Track Version) with Louis van Amstel, Dmitry Chaplin, Tony Dovolani, Chelsie Hightower, Kym Johnson, and Peta Murgatroyd dancing

This is a crappy recording of Taio Cruz’s performance on DWTS, but I love the song and the dancing was pretty good too (hard for me to deny 3 blonde female dancers). Plus, someone asked for it in the comments

Is it just me or does Chelsie dance pretty much every week for the pro dances and special musical guests? I’m not complaining AT ALL. I’m really glad she is dancing. I’d be sad if she weren’t because I enjoy her dancing so much. It’s just interesting that she gets to do them so much.

Taylor Swift and Rod Stewart on Dancing with the Stars

I must admit that I got a little distracted tonight with all the election results. Although, I did tune in a little extra to see my girl Taylor Swift do her thing. Rod Stewart on the other hand…well, I’ll just not comment.

I can’t imagine people don’t know these songs, but here they are just in case. Plus, it’s nice for us to be comprehensive in our list of DWTS music.

Taylor Swift sang “Mine” Mine - Speak Now with Dmitry Chaplin, Tony Dovolani, Chelsie Hightower, and Lacey Schwimmer dancing and “White Horse” White Horse - Fearless (Platinum Edition) to a DWTS video montage.

Rod Stewart sang “I Get a Kick out of You” I Get a Kick Out of You - Fly Me to the Moon... - The Great American Songbook, Vol. V (Deluxe Version) with Peta Murgatroyd and Damian Whitewood performing.

Of course, there was also “Step In Time” Step In Time - Disney On Broadway Essentials - Celebrating 15 Years of Magical Musicals performed by the cast of Mary Poppins. I’m sorry, but I pity anyone who has to try to perform in the place of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. Just impossible! I would probably see the Broadway show if I got the chance though.

Now back to Taylor Swift. Here’s the video of her performance of “Mine” Mine - Speak Now on Dancing with the Stars 2010.

And Taylor Swift’s performance of “White Horse” White Horse - Fearless (Platinum Edition) on Dancing with the Stars Season 11:
