ABC Releases New Press Release For DWTS14 Week 2, TV Notices, New Commercial

ABC Medianet has released some details on next weeks shows for March 26 and 27th! Special musical guests Sugarland and Matt Nathanson will be performing on Tuesday night’s results show. Also, the Troupe returns with two new members, Henry Byalikov and Emma Slater, as we reported to you before.

“Episode 1402” — After last week’s sensational season opener, which proved to be one of the most competitive season premieres ever, all 12 couples return to the ballroom with another fabulous lineup of extraordinary performances. This week the couples will dance either the Jive or the Quickstep, MONDAY, MARCH 26 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

A one-hour special, “Dancing with the Stars: The Story So Far,” airing TUESDAY, MARCH 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), will recap the thrilling dance performances from last week’s premiere and from Monday’s performance show, along with never-before-seen footage from the teams’ confessionals and exciting backstage moments.

Following the one-hour special, country superstars Sugarland and talented singer songwriter Matt Nathanson join in on the fun for the Season Premiere of “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” (“Episode 1402A”), TUESDAY, MARCH 27 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Nathanson will perform his latest single, “Run,” featuring Sugarland in a special performance accompanied by pro dancers Tristan MacManus and Peta Murgatroyd. Sugarland will return to the stage for a second performance of infectious track “Find the Beat Again,” accompanied by four members of this season’s Troupe. Season 14’s Troupe returns with two new members, Henry Byalikov and Emma Slater. During Tuesday night’s show, the Troupe will be joined by the professional dancers of the season for an amazing performance, and by evening’s end the first couple will be sent home.

You can read the full press release at ABC Medianet.

Also, be sure to watch Good Morning America on Monday morning. William Levy and Katherine Jenkins will be interviewed about Dancing With The Stars. Tony Dovolani and Martina Navratilova are filming something for Extra at The Grove today which will hopefully be shown on Monday before showtime.

And here is a new Dancing With The Stars promo for week two as well….

Here’s to week Two everyone! Let the dances begin! 🙂

DWTS Season 14 March 22nd Las Vegas Odds After The First Dance

As always, what a difference the Las Vegas Odds can make after that first dance on Dancing With The Stars. Below is how the Las Vegas Odds are going down currently at Vegas Odds On. Note how the odds makers are still putting William Levy in first and Gavin and Martina in last. Compared to last weeks odds, there has been a total shake up in the middle.

William Levy 7/2
Jaleel White 11/4
Donald Driver 4/1
Maria Menounos 13/2
Katherine Jenkins 15/2
Roshon Fegan 8/1
Jack Wagner 15/1
Gladys Knight 15/1
Melissa Gilbert 18/1
Sherri Shepherd 20/1
Gavin DeGraw 35/1
Martina Navratilova 50/1

So, do the odds makers have it right this time? I was shocked to see Donald so high and Sherri so low (not that I have an issue with it? 🙂 )? Let’s get Heidi and Court’s thoughts….

Heidi: Well, of course they’ll leave William up there, cuz going by the screams in the audience he’s a shoe in to win right? Ummm….no. The odds makers have NEVER understood how this show works, have never taken the time to figure it out, and consistently show week after week, season after season, that they are willing to drastically change rankings every week after being proven wrong the week before. 🙂 They really should hire me, Court or Marianya to do this odds crap for them. 🙂 We would be right far more often than they could ever hope for. Ah well, they do provide additional fodder every week for us to poke fun at.

Courtney: Reading through these odds, it’s as if these oddsmakers just trolled the internet, reading various reviews of Monday’s show, and then somehow combined them into some weird, non-cohesive odds that neither make them look like geniuses nor complete idiots.  Of course they’re buying into the William hype, since the judges all seemed to temporarily grow va-jay-jays when they scored him – plus the oddsmakers picked William to win before the season started, and I doubt they’d back down from that opinion so soon, lest they look a bit silly.  They honestly think Donald has a better chance than Jaleel at this point??? Don’t get me wrong, Donald has potential, but there was a good 5-point difference between the two, and Jaleel’s technique is already miles ahead of pretty much everyone except Katherine, while Donald is…flaily. 🙂 The one that really baffles me is Melissa having better odds than Sherri – meek, awkward dancer with debatable fanbase vs. a big personality with daily exposure that can actually dance pretty well? Might wanna rethink that one, guys.  Maria over Katherine? Not if the judges keep handicapping the latter.  Martina & Gavin at the bottom, I agree with – but I don’t think their odds should be THAT low.  Maybe 25-1 for Gavin and 40-1 for Martina. The only one I think they got spot-on was Roshon – the odds seem about right, and he’s at about the right position in the pack.  Now the real test will be next week, when the Latin golden boy has to do a ballroom dance…should be interesting to see if he maintains his lead in the odds, or falls 😉

Kirstie Alley And Nancy Grace Give Dancing With The Stars Advice (Videos)

This is hilarious. In the first video from Extra, Kirstie Alley tells her thoughts on the cast for Dancing With The Stars Season 14. She loves how diverse and funny it is. She also tells of how Melissa came to watch her when she danced with Maks. She gives some advice to her and how to handle Maks since he can mess with one’s mind. Kirstie knows him best, doesn’t she? LOL!! She also has some advice for Maria…

Adding: And here’s Kirstie again on Access Hollywood with some more advice…

As for Nancy Grace, she was on The View today along with Sherri Shepherd and the gang. She had some advice for Sherri and Dancing With The Stars. She said, “Number one, show no fear”. Then she said, “Ignore all the haters!” Then third, “Have fun!” Great segment! You can see it here. More behind the scenes advice as well below (*cracking up)…

Vegas Odds Makers Make Their First Dancing With The Stars Season 14 Predictions

So, would you believe the odds makers in Las Vegas are already wagering on who will win Dancing With The Stars Season 14? Below is how the stars stack up from first to last place according to Vegas Odds On. Notice currently how they have William Levy in first place….and this is without even seeing him dance yet. As you can see, they have Martina in last place which I think is a mistake knowing how fierce she can be on a competitive level?

William Levy 4/1
Jaleel White 5/1
Donald Driver 5/1
Maria Menounos 11/2
Gladys Knight 15/2
Roshon Fegan 17/2
Katherine Jenkins 10/1
Sherri Shepherd 12/1
Melissa Gilbert 12/1
Jack Wagner 15/1
Gavin DeGraw 18/1
Martina Navratilova 20/1

The NY Daily has written up a good article on this subject. Check out the predictions from American Line and Wynn Las Vegas. I can understand William Levy to win, but Sherri Shepherd? 😯

“Last season, we correctly predicted J.R. Martinez as the favorite and eventual winner,” America’s Line President Ben Eckstein told the Daily News.

“This season, we’re gonna try another Latin star, William Levy. Known as the ‘Cuban Brad Pitt,’ Levy is gorgeous, he has a ‘special’ relationship with Jennifer Lopez, and with J-Lo as a mentor — remember she wa a former Fly Girl — how can he possibly lose?”

Easily, according to Wynn Las Vegas’ oddsmaker, the mirror ball trophy belongs to “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd, a 5-1 favorite in their book.

Let’s get Heidi’s and Courtney’s thoughts on this and be sure to let us know what you think too in the comments section:

Courtney: No joke – I actually LOL’d at these preliminary odds 🙂 Why? Because these oddsmakers seem to be playing into a few stereotypes that likely aren’t going to be true of this season’s cast.  Their biggest mistake: assuming that William will be the 2nd coming of Gilles.  As I was discussing with someone yesterday, Gilles was a total fluke – a good-looking relative unknown who ended up having quite a bit of natural dance skill.  While I don’t think William will be terrible, I also don’t think they should expect lightening to strike twice for Cheryl – she’s a great teacher, but she also just got incredibly lucky with Gilles.  I think they may be overestimating Gladys – she is a legend, yes, but she’s also the oldest competitor this season, and she isn’t going to get by on votes alone – at least not in the long run.  I think they’re overestimating Katherine as well – she may be young and a pretty good dancer, but it ain’t gonna mean squat if she doesn’t have any stateside voters behind her.  I think they’re probably underestimating Roshon, who I expect to be the best dancer this season in terms of technique; I also think they’re underestimating Melissa & Sherri, who will likely have a good part of the viewing audience rooting for them.  But to give you guys some perspective, here are the preliminary odds from season 13 & season 12 – and they’re even more laughable in retrospect.  They initally had Kendra winning season 12 – she ended up placing 6th, and they had eventual winner Hines in 4th place.  For season 13, it was even wackier – they predicted Elisabetta to win (she got sent home the 2nd week) and had JR way down in 9th place! They also had Carson, Kristin, & Chynna in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place, respectively – so in short, they were wayyyyy off 🙂 Which is why I’m just kinda smiling & nodding with these odds…because I highly doubt they’re gonna hold up in the long run.

Heidi: There is another odds making site out there that has Maria at nearly even money to win. So there you go.  These guys will make adjustments every single week until it appears they get it right…in week 10.  Last season was just absolutely ridiculous.  They had Ricki being the 3rd or 4th person eliminated.  Of course, if Sherri has been practicing with Val for months, then she really could win. 🙂  This is wacky – they should pay US to determine the real odds. This site gives it to Martina, with Maria being in second place and Katherine at 25 to 1, William at 10 to 1.  This site has William at 25 to 1, Martina at 18 to 1, Maria at 3 to 1 and Gladys for the win. Oookay. As you can see, they don’t really take into account judges scores, professional partner – anything other than their own personal stereotypes.  I don’t think they watch the show. 🙂 Or consider the DWTS demographic when it comes to voting.  It’s rather important, as we all know.

Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Odds For September 5th (Changes From A Week Ago)

A week in rehearsals now, and the Dancing With The Stars Season 13 odds have changed a little from our last report. Elisabetta is still in the top spot, but, Hope Solo has jumped from fourth place to second place. Carson has dipped down from second place to fourth place. Ron and Chynna have fallen too. They still have Ricki placed low which shocks me as well. I think they underestimating David too who is still at 10/1 odds. Here is more from SportsBoDog. How they can figure these bets without seeing them dance yet is beyond me? 😯

Elisabetta Canalis 9/2

Hope Solo 5/1

Kristin Cavallari 11/2

Carson Kressley 7/1

Robert Kardashian 15/2

Chynna Phillips 8/1

David Arquette 10/1

J.R. Martinez 10/1

Ricki Lake 10/1

Ron Artest 10/1

Nancy Grace 18/1

Chaz Bono 20/1

DWTS – The DWTS Las Vegas Odds Have Begun For “Winning Professional Partner”

Would you believe the bettings for “Dancing With The Stars” has already begun in Las Vegas? lol Yep!! Online bettors can now place a wager on which professional dancer they believe will be paired up with the celebrity that takes home the trophy. Here’s how the odds stack up right now for these pros if they were picked to dance. As you know Derek is now out since he’s not returning this Season. Edyta has also tweeted that she wasn’t interested in returning. They haven’t included Peta Murgatroyd on this list either (I think she could be a strong possibility this time if not a regular dancer for the pro numbers). So, do you think they have this list right so far? While we’re talking about pros (and to see if your lists have changed since when we did them a couple of months back), list 12 (or 13) pros for who you’d like to see picked for Season 12.
