Dances Revealed For Rock Week On Dancing With The Stars: Jive, Paso Doble, Tango, Viennese Waltz (Results Interviews)

As always, George Pennacchio of On The Red Carpet has the best questions for the couples after the results show. He asks them about “kissing” and the differences about learning things for their careers and dancing. He also asks on what their plans are for Rock Week. Read on for more, but, note how there are no interviews for Val and Sherri or Cheryl and William (yet!). Adding (thanks Heidi): Don’t forget also that Cheryl revealed yesterday that she and William have a Jive for next week.

First up Peta and Donald! They don’t think there will be any kissing in their future dances. George asks Donald the difference between learning the foot work for dancing versus football. Donald says there is a big difference since you have to remember where to put them and to “perform”. Next week, they have a Paso Doble and Peta hints at “pimping him out”.

Tristan and Gladys say they kiss all the time and it depends on what happens if they kiss in their dances in the future. George asks Gladys the difference between learning to sing and learning moves for her shows verses dancing. She answers with how much “technique” is important. They share some kind words for Jack. (according to @TristanMacManusfans at twitter, they’ve got a Tango next week.)

Maria explains how she has a good memory for all the things she’s doing in her career and how that’s helping her with dancing. Derek doesn’t know if there will be more kissing. It depends on the moment and the kind of dance, etc.. They are planning some “head banging” for next week’s dance. They have a Tango. It won’t be sensual, but, “hard hitting” instead.

Mark says there is no rule for kissing and sometimes dancers get carried away. Mark says it’s “acting” too. Katherine explains how she gets in a “panic” for dancing versus when she is singing. She worries she will forget her moves. For rock week, they have a Paso Doble with a great song. Mark hints at wanting to show a different, powerful, and harder side of Katherine.

Jack Wagner Reflects Back With Gratitude For His Time On Dancing With The Stars (Interviews)

“I’ve had a very cool ride and I’ve had a very cool partner. Ya know…you gotta reflect back on this stuff with gratitude. Life is too short. Am I sad? I’m very sad…but, I’ll take all the positives from this. I’ve got a great memory.” ~Jack Wagner with Access Hollywood

And so we say good-bye to Jack Wagner and Anna Trebunskaya on Dancing With The Stars. I don’t think there was one dry eye in the house with this loss. Though let’s hope this is only the beginning of seeing more of Jack Wagner again in the future. I know a lot of soap fans would love to see him return to General Hospital or anything else he decides to take on. His career is no where near over and his personal life couldn’t be better with the new addition to his family. So, who is the real winner here? What’s more, Jack went out in the classiest of ways with no hard feelings and nothing but great things to say for the whole cast and they on him. He’s made some great new friends. Celebrating that and his time on the show, let’s start out this day with some interviews with Jimmy Kimmel, Access Hollywood, and On The Red Carpet. We’ll post the new GMA interview as soon as we can.

ADDING: And here is Jack and Anna on Good Morning America this morning…

SPOILERS!!! DWTS Season 14, Week 3 – Who Got the Boot??

Hold on to your hats, I’ve got a lot of complaining to do. Wait for it. 🙂 First though…

Anyway, our second elimination is: Jack and Anna (sob)

Our mini scorecard reads as follows:

Heidi: I had a lot of trouble deciding, waffling between the bottom 5, but I finally decided on Gavin numerically…but I had a suspicion about Jaleel.

Courtney: Had trouble as well, but said Gavin as well, with Jack or Gladys in the possible next position.

Again they do a real live bottom two, with Gavin in the safe position of the bottom – what is UP with that??

But worst thing of all possible things…we get three weeks of the judges deciding who goes home out of the bottom two scorers. This is the biggest load of bull in the history of the show, worse than the winner take all cha cha. That was, at least, a one time thing. But now, for the next three weeks, the two low combined scorers will dance off in front of the judges and then the judges decide who is safe. So, even if William or Jaleel aren’t getting any votes or they dance like crap on the night, the will likely stick around…possibly over someone who danced very well. You better hope your favorite doesn’t end up in the bottom two against Katherine or William (or Sherri).

You know? Let the show WORK without freakin’ tinkering with it!! It works quite well. But one of their favorites isn’t getting the votes and they want to make sure he (or she) sticks around for at least three more weeks. At least if Derek and Maria go out the regular way, I will know that it’s the way the show works. It’s in the rules, that’s how it’s always been. But if Maria ends up in the bottom two against William and the piece of meat stays just due to the vagina vote?? That will piss. me. off. Is your favorite Sherri or Melissa or Gladys or Gavin?? Forget it. If, as I suspect, William or Katherine isn’t getting the votes, you guys are screwed.

The thing is, who ever they consider their favorite could be the low scorer (combined judges score and viewer votes) by a significant margin, yet will stay over someone who actually did quite well on the night and is doing well with the viewers. Someone like Sherri. Or Melissa.

My suggestion?? Vote like you’ve never voted before. If William and Katherine both end up in the bottom (unlikely due to judges scores on the front end) then Katherine will stay. MAYBE. Jesus.

Dancing With The Stars 14 Week 3 – Media and Interviews After The Dance Part 3 (Videos)

Below are just a few more interviews after the couples danced last night!!! The View interviewed Sherri. She still hasn’t recovered. If it weren’t for Val, she wouldn’t have been able to keep dancing.

Tony Dovolani interviewed some of the couples for Extra. Note the part with Mark where he addresses the incident in rehearsals last week.

Also, don’t miss Donald and Peta being interviewed from Amazing Good Will. You can see a good shot of the press room.

DWTS Season 14, Week 3 – Dancing by the Numbers

What do you get when you have a five way tie at the bottom of the leaderboard?  A big fat mess, that’s what. 🙂  Jaysus, the over scoring continues. I thought Sherri, Jaleel and Gladys were all over scored for sure. Katherine was as well – knock it off with the two 10’s already. She was great and beautiful (and she made me very weepy), but how can you dance so much of a waltz out of hold and still get a 29?? ANYONE else would have gotten dinged for that big time.  Donald (love him) starts off with what would have been called a lift if Derek or Maks had done it…and CAI decides she’s on vacay as the lift police. Figures. But on the upside – finally CAI decides to critique William. About damn time. Keep up the good work. The tongue bathes are ridiculous and that 10 was so not deserved.

I saw quite a few people saying they would be surprised if there was more than 10k votes between the top scorer and the bottom rung – Nah, there was more than that. Try 18k – a pretty good number, but not massive. Combine that smallish spread with SERIOUS voting issues, a real bottom two last week, fake crying this week and you got one unpredictable situation.

Yes, if you are a Derek or Maks fan, you know that voting was pure hell last night. Web site was continually saying that I used all my votes when I hadn’t even cast one – this was after an hour or two of “bad gateway” messages – meaning their servers were getting hammered, most likely. And this was at the BEGINNING of the show.  Same issue with the phones; call and get the message that you’ve used all your calls from this phone number …on the first call. Again, right after Derek and Maria danced. I saw that Maks fans were having the same issues with the online voting, so I’m assuming that was an issue across the board. So, the passionate fanbases will rule the day, more so than usual. You had to be seriously patient and/or determined to vote last night.

Let’s look at the couples and their percentages of the total:

The Judges Scores and Percentages

Place Celebrity Score Percentage
1. Katherine 29 10.36
2. William 28 10.00
3. Maria 27 9.64
4. Donald 26 9.29
5. Jaleel 25 8.93
5. Roshon 25 8.93
7. Sherri 24 8.57
7. Jack 24 8.57
7. Gladys 24 8.57
7. Gavin 24 8.57
7. Melissa 24 8.57

Dancing With The Stars14 Week 3 – Media and Interviews After The Dance Part 2 (Videos)

Below are some more great interviews from last night. First we have Mark & Katherine, Jaleel and Kym, and William and Cheryl with Access Hollywood. Each couple talks of how they brought each dance and story to life. Mark says it was like painting a picture. Cheryl talks of why they chose to take William’s shirt off. Jaleel talks of the hard week he and Kym had and how they haven’t let anything come between them and their connection.

William tells ET of how hard Cheryl made him work this past week…

The rest of couples are interviewed by ET as well…

PureDWTS 14 Week 3 – Media and Interviews After The Dance Part 1 (Videos)

What a show last night again!!! As in weeks past, the couples did some interviews with George Pennacchio of On The Red Carpet afterwards. Let’s see what he gathered up on the emotional night. Note: There aren’t interviews posted for Katherine & Mark and Donald and Peta for some reason. Watch the link, they may post them later.

First up, Derek and Maria! She tells George that it didn’t bother her to disclose more on her personal life last night. She says honesty can be inspiring. Derek hasn’t seen this much improvement so quickly in one of his partners and he’s so proud of her. They also discuss her wrestling this past week and her unbelievable schedule.

Gavin was so overwhelmed and “somewhere else” with their dance and when they received a standing ovation. He is emotional about his Dad. He loves learning to dance and finding what he’s natural at. Karina says he has a way of making every situation better. She believes in him and thinks they can climb up to the top.

George praises Gladys for her elegance last night. He and Tristan point out how no one really is at the bottom when they receive “24’s”. Gladys wants to “shake her tail feather” in the next dances if she makes it for what she’s more about. Tristan soaks up everything about Gladys. She inspires him and he learns from her. They talk of her double and triple duty besides her dancing on the show. She’s planning to do a new sitcom as well.

Sherri is so emotional over the night. George says the night was insane. Sherri says they all love being there and the bar is set high. They talk of her busy schedule. Val talks of how it was a difficult this past week, but, they learned a lot and plan to keep going forward. He cares so much for her and vice versa.

DWTS 14 Week 3 Power Rankings

Well thanks to the majority of tonight’s performances, I now have red, puffy eyes and a runny nose – and no, the show did not give me a rhinovirus 🙂 Even though I tell myself I’m not going to, I still get verklempt each season when personal story week rolls around, and end up a big, blubbering blob of hormones that is willing to overlook some pretty glaring technique errors and overall mediocrity & lack of content 😛

Tonight, however, I refuse to overlook to continual over/underscoring and favoritism by the judges, and what I felt to be a rather contrived display of emotion on one individual’s part.  Shall we get to it? 🙂

1.) Katherine & Mark – I always find myself without a whole lot of notes on these two.  What more can I say, other than that she’s beautiful, a great dancer, and an overall likeable person? 🙂 Thought Katherine danced a lovely waltz, and it’s becoming clear to me that the ballroom dances are really going to be her forte, and perhaps the rumba as well – any dance where she can really show off that posture and those gorgeous arms.  Was there a lot of actual waltz steps in this one? Well, no, but on the whole, I don’t think anyone had a TON of real content and syllabus steps in their routines tonight…so I guess I really can’t fault anyone too much for that.  With the points spread being relatively close tonight, I can’t say for sure that ANYONE is truly safe…but I think Katherine is probably safe this week.  I think she is growing her fanbase, and seems to have kept Mark relatively calm this season.  I enjoy watching these two dance 🙂

2.) Donald & Peta – I don’t think they had the best routine of the night (or even the best rumba), but man – Donald is endearing himself to pretty much EVERYONE, myself included 🙂 I don’t think I’ve heard a single unkind word about the guy from any of the regulars here, and the fact that he has managed to go from dancing 3rd, to dancing 10th, to getting the pimp spot in 3 weeks tells me that he is proving to be a force to be reckoned with – he’s probably pulling in quite a few votes.  And I do see him improving each week – I love that he devotes himself 100% to his performance each week, and is a joy to watch, but the guy is legitimately improving as well…his arms, legs, hips, and posture have all gotten noticeably better with each week.  And I think if last season was any indicator, we shouldn’t underestimate the ones that slowly & steadily improve each week, as they’re the ones that could sneak into the finale out of nowhere…I think I’ve finally decided that he is indeed our dark horse this season 🙂 Watch out, Katherine, William, Jaleel, & Maria!

3.) William & Cheryl – Grrrr….I can’t believe we’re in week 3 and the over-the-top tongue bathing is still going! This was an ok-to-moderate salsa – I wouldn’t say it was stellar and I wouldn’t say it was bad, either.  But a 28??? C’mon, one point less than the top scorer, who did one of the best waltzes I’ve seen on the show to date???! I don’t get it…I just don’t get it.  William doesn’t miss steps, and he stays on time; but I also feel like he never truly gets into the dance, and always dances so apprehensively, like he’s afraid he might hurt himself.  Cheryl needs to take time out from her busy schedule of designing atrocious costumes from herself and actually bring him out of his shell a bit more, and work on his range of motion.  Luckily for them (and not so luckily for us), I don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon, with all the judges blindly worshipping his every step.  Ai ai ai.
