Dancing With The Stars Season 26 Finale Dance Information And More

Below is the dance information for the finals of Dancing With The Stars Season 26. Note that we just have a one night show this time. From Disney ABC:

THREE COUPLES REMAIN IN WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE SEASONS OF THE SHOW EVER, BUT ONLY ONE WILL TAKE HOME THE SPECIAL ATHLETES MIRRORBALL TROPHY, ON THE SEASON FINALE OF ABC’S ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS: ATHLETES,’ MAY 21

Each Couple Will Perform Two Dances

All 10 Athletes Set to Reunite and Perform One Last Dance Together

The Winner Will Be Determined Based on ‘Last Chance’ Live Viewer Votes
and the Judges’ Scores, Along with Last Week’s Viewer Votes

After three weeks of stunning competitive dancing, the final three couples advance to the finals of “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” live on MONDAY, MAY 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. It’s been a very close race this season, and each and every couple has stepped up to the plate and given their all on the ballroom floor.

All 10 of the athletes are set to reunite for a spectacular dance number. As for the three finalist couples, each will perform two dances. The first round will be inspired by their journey on the show, and each couple will perform a jazz, foxtrot or Viennese waltz routine. The second round will be a no-holds-barred freestyle dance. At the end of the night, based on “last chance” live viewer votes in the EDT/CDT time zones via ABC.com and Facebook, as well as the judges’ scores and last week’s viewer votes, one couple will be crowned the champion, culminating an incredible season, and take home the special Athletes Mirrorball trophy.

Each couple will dance to the following songs (in alphabetical order):

Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson – Jazz – “Anything You Can Do” from “Annie Get Your Gun” – The new Broadway cast recording

Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess – Foxtrot – “Conqueror” by “Empire” cast, featuring Estelle and Jussie Smollett

Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber – Viennese Waltz – “The Time of My Life” by David Cook

Each couple will dance freestyle to the following songs (in alphabetical order):

Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson – “Scooby Doo Pa Pa” by DJ Kass

Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess – “Walk on Water” by Thirty Seconds to Mars

Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber – “I Will Survive” by The Pussycat Dolls

Hosted by two-time Emmy®-winning host Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is the hit series in which athletes perform choreographed dance routines that are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including head judge, Len Goodman, and dancers/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

In week four, which airs at 8:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, May 21, this season’s champion will be determined based on that night’s judges’ scores and last week’s viewer votes, along with the results of a “last chance” vote during the live broadcast of the finale. Fans can vote online during the live broadcast in the Eastern and Central time zones at ABC.com at http://dwtsvote.abc.go.com/ and on Facebook at http://bit.ly/2o1VO7b. This “last chance” vote will open after all three couples have finished their final dance and will remain open for a few minutes before the champion is crowned.

Dancing With The Stars Season 26 Week One Down Over 40% From Last Year’s Premiere

I was afraid of this. From Variety, here are some stats on last night’s ratings. Be sure to read more at the link. My parents always use to say either go all the way with something or not at all. Is this the case for a short season? Even still, 8+ million viewers is still ok, but is it enough?

“Dancing with the Stars” hit a new demo low for a regular episode on Monday with the ABC competition series debuting its all-athletes edition.

Airing from 8-10 p.m, “Dancing With the Stars” averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 8.5 million viewers. That is down over 40% in the demo from the show’s premiere last spring premiere and approximately 30% in total viewers. The ABC series also lost to “The Voice” over its two-hour broadcast, with the NBC series holding steady for the week with a 1.6 and 8.7 million viewers.

Later on ABC, “The Crossing” (0.5, 3.8 million) was also down in the demo.

After “The Voice,” “Good Girls” (0.9, 4.2 million) was steady.

DWTS Season 26 Week One Post Dance Scores, Interviews, Hints For Week 2, Jimmy Kimmel Predicts The Winner, GMA, And More

Well, I’m not sure I’m feeling this season full on yet being it’s so short and the double eliminations were a killer last night (cries!!!)but, I loved Sharna and Josh the most (and so did Hubby since he’s a football fan). I also loved Adam and Jenna and their creativity and choreography. Tonya and Sasha were also a wonderful surprise. They have a real battle on their hands in so many ways. I look forward to see if they can do it. So, let’s review the scores….

ETA: More interviews added below including Access Hollywood and Kristyn Burtt’s. Scroll down..

Josh & Sharna 24 (8, 8, 8)
Adam & Jenna 24 (8, 8, 8)
Mirai & Alan 23 (7, 8, 8)
Tonya & Sasha 23 (8, 8, 7)
Chris & Witney 21 (7, 7, 7)
Jennie & Keo 21 (7, 7, 7)
Arike & Gleb 20 (7, 6, 7)
Jamie & Artem 19 (6, 7, 6) Eliminated
Johnny & Emma 18 (6, 6, 6) Eliminated
Kareem & Lindsay 17 (6, 5, 6)

If you missed seeing the show, see Idolxfactor.com (these videos work internationally and will only be available for 24 hours) and the official Your Tube page. Don’t miss some behind the scenes videos at the official Facebook page here and here(Tom cracks me up as always). Don’t miss viewing Getty Images for some wonderful performance photos and more.

To start off with interviews and recaps, see ABC7. Also see FOX and People for their recaps and interviews. Check these links later too as more may be released.

And now for these interviews….

On The Red Carpet:

This elimination seems so wrong. I really liked them and how Emma challenged him technically….

I love what Tonya said in this interview for what each of them are learning from one another. Something “special and different” is coming next week….

These two plan to work super hard next week and challenge their upper game even more…

Dancing with the Stars Season 26, Week 1 – LIVE BLOG (SPOILERS)

All right all ya’ll – check in if you’re watching this season with us. I don’t want to be all alone here, bemoaning the crap or greatness – take your pick. 🙂

T-minus 15 minutes….

Ooooooo…..interesting and dramatic opening!!

Okay, I loved that in all it’s cheesy glory. 🙂

Chris is cute as hell and has some potential. Not necessarily for dancing but….potential. 😉

Damn. That was a lot of Salsa and a lot of lifts for week 1!!

Close your shirt, Bruno. Chris getting good comments from the judges for the most part.

And he pulls three 7s! Kinda predictable, but worthy.

Kareeeeeeeeem!!! He is the legend and the big name for the main demo for this show. And if anyone can work with this Lindsey can. Read more..

DWTS Season 26, Week 1 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

I knew there was something I was forgetting to do…. 🙂 Who’s dancing what? Or..Who’s dancing TO what? Or both.

Voting Note: As we reported a couple weeks ago, there are some changes in the voting, particularly for week 1, this season. Here’s what the ABC.com press release has to say about it.

For week one, the evening’s eliminations will be based on live viewer votes cast during the show’s live broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones, along with the judges’ scores. During the live season premiere broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones at 8:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, April 30, viewers may cast their votes for their favorite couples, with these votes helping determine the couples who will move on to the next episode. This vote will be online only via ABC.com, will open at the top of the live show and end shortly after the last couple dances. Then, at the end of the episode, overnight voting will open for phone, ABC.com and Facebook, which will factor into the week two eliminations. Toll-free phone voting will be open nationwide from the end of the live show until 5:00 a.m. EDT/2:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday. Online voting at ABC.com at http://dwtsvote.abc.go.com/ and on Facebook at http://bit.ly/2o1VO7b will open at the end of the live show and closes at 10:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday. During each voting window, when voting online at ABC.com or Facebook, viewers can reallocate their votes until the voting window closes.

Heidi Comment – if you are dancing LAST, it’s an extreme disadvantage this time out, so don’t get excited if your favorite is in the “pimp spot”. This first week, at least, is no pimpage at all in going last.
