Spoilers!!! Dancing with the Stars Season 10, Week 4 – The Scoreboard

Another week, another elimination.  This week, I was closer to getting it completely right. Weird thing is – Tom very specifically said that Nicey and Aiden weren’t necessarily the bottom two – which means that Niecy isn’t getting enough votes and they are generating sympathy for her. So who was in the real bottom two with Aiden (our unfortunate eliminated dancer)? Could still have been Jake. Could still have been Kate. I’m leaning toward Kate. Actually, it could have been Niecy too – you never know.

Okay, in summary:

Heidi said: Jake or Aiden with Niecy as a long shot. I was kinda leaning toward Jake, but mainly because I like Aiden better. To be more accurate, I need to listen more to my gut. 🙂

Courtney said: Aiden in the Number 9 spot, with Kate in 8 and Niecy in 7.

Dang – we did pretty good this week. 🙂  Without knowing who’s dancing what next week, it’s hard to make an advanced description, but I’m going to say that Jake and Kate are in trouble with Niecy still as a long shot. All that is subject to change depending on what dance they get.

Final thoughts-

Heidi: Personally, I think that Niecy is about at the end of her road as is Jake IF he doesn’t slip or do something else to garner sympathy.  I think that Nicole explained well why she was upset, but she has to get her shit together, as does Erin.  I think Derek is very experienced at getting criers (ahem, Shannon) to snap out of it – and Nicole is much more talented of a dancer than Shannon was. Hell, her Rumba was very well done, she just got so upset with herself! RELAX. Erin – needs to relax as well. Fortunately for her, she relates so well to Maks that he should be able to snap her out of it without making her pout.  Evan – runs the risk of getting lost in the drama, but how much of a risk is it, really? Not much. His only real risk is annoying the shit out of me by begging for votes.  Pam – don’t change a thing, doll. 🙂 Chad’s continued existence depends entirely on what dance he gets next week – but I am starting to like him a good bit.  Kate? Who the hell knows? I bet she lasts two more weeks. Which WILL Piss me off.

Courtney? Anything to add??

Courtney: WOOHOO! For the first time this season, I’ve actually been semi-correct in my predictions! 😀 Even though reverse psychology didn’t work as I had hoped and Kate still lives to (attempt to) dance another day, I feel like it was Aiden’s time to go…the poor boy was still moving as awkwardly this week as he did the first week, and I feel like he just wasn’t improving fast enough. But I also think he & Edyta really got dealt a crappy hand when they got “Live Like We’re Dying” as their song – reminded me of last season when Mark & Lacey got “Don’t Lie” as their rumba – both were just screwed, because the songs really didn’t fit the feeling of the rumba.

As for Kate – I’ve almost given up on her getting sent home anytime soon. Clearly the voting audience likes train wrecks. Either that or Kate told her litter of 8 that she’d send them to bed without dinner if they didn’t call in their max amount of votes from their Fisher Price cell phones. Poor Tony – that man looks like he’d rather have a root canal than deal with her histrionics one more day.

I agree with Heidi that Niecy is likely in danger – unless people tire of Kate’s antics, or Louis choreographs something dynamite, I think she could be the one to go next week. Jake could also have some problems, but I think Chelsie’s fans could keep him around for another week or two. I’m actually wondering if people will get sick of Erin & Maks – they’re all over the media, and I’m starting to see the diva side of Erin a bit during their lead-ins. Time will tell, I guess…but VIVA LA PAM!!! I am TOTALLY on board now 😉

P.S. This results show was jam packed – check back here later or tomorrow for a whole bunch of video, including all the cheesy commercials. 🙂

DWTS Season 10, Week 4 – Dancing by the Numbers

There isn’t much to say this week – except to say I was right about a lot of stuff and wrong about others. 🙂

Nicole is holding back (or it’s nerves getting the better of her), Erin is now in denial mode about having a relationship with Maks, Kate STILL has 8 kids, Niecy got too emotional and Louis broadcast too much, and Evan is so perfect that he’s in danger of getting lost in the shuffle of all this DRAMA. Also becoming a possibility – my long ago prediction that Pam could be the dark horse of this competition. I see Courtney is now on her bandwagon. 😉

And what the hell is wrong with the judges? I thought both Erin, Nicole and Niecy might all burst into tears. What’s really funny is listening to the pros who aren’t on this season (Jonathan and Alec, mainly) talk about how wack the judges are – I had this visual of one of them (I think it was Jonathan) walking away from twitter in disgust after they scored Nicole’s dance. And Alec thought they were outrageous as well (now Alec is getting serious hell on twitter for saying Nicole is the best female in 10 seasons). Virtually across the board. I keep wondering if there is some sort of method to their madness. Are they being overly harsh on some to get them sympathy votes? Being nice to Kate (who did improve) to eliminate the sympathy for her? What? Anyway…

The MATH.

Here are the Judges Scores:

Dancer/Score
Evan/52
Nicole/50
Pam/47
Chad/44
Erin/39
Jake/38
Niecy/36
Aiden/33
Kate/32
Total Judges Points Awarded = 371

Oh boy. The judges didn’t do Aiden, Niecy or Jake ANY favors with the scores they handed out. Awful lot of bunching. I’m going to go on record right now and say that I think Kate is safe again. Erin is close to that group, but I think people are voting for romance, so I’m going to call her safe too.

Dividing the individual scores by the total points awarded gives you the following percentages:

Dancer/Percentage of Total
Evan/14.02
Nicole/13.48
Pam/12.67
Chad/11.86
Erin/10.51
Jake/10.24
Niecy/9.70
Aiden/8.89
Kate/8.63

Like I said last week, the Kate haters have to VOTE for someone else – like Aiden, Jake or Niecy – in order for Kate to go home. With this point spread (or lack thereof), I think she’s safe this week. I think it’s either Aiden or Jake – with Niecy as a long shot.

I’m doing the voting portion a bit differently than I have in the past – with a nod to a poster on Television Without Pity for giving me the idea. Here’s my current GUESS at how I think the voting might go, in order of most to least votes received:

Dancer/Votes
Evan– STILL far and away the ringer of the season based on fanbase and ability, I don’t see this changing unless he breaks a leg or Anna choreographs a total crap freestyle. His Tango was much better than his quickstep, for sure.

Pam – Four way tie for votes with Nicole, Erin and Chad. Great rumba – she may take over this competition if Nicole can’t relax, Evan gets too boring, and Erin falls apart.

Nicole – Danced very well, although she seemed afraid of either Derek or the dance. Or both. The judges being mean to her actually works in her favor, though, I think. She has GOT to get over her Len thing – there are 3 judges sitting up there and an audience to please. I think she (or Derek) still has the audience, but she risks losing Bruno and Carrie-Ann with the focus on Len. She needs to listen to what Bruno said – he pretty much put it out there. Plus, she could be perfect and Len would still give her an 8.

Erin –I think Erin can still rely on the chemistry factor, but I wonder if the bloom is a little off the rose. I don’t know, really. I have to fully agree with Bruno in his comments regarding the dance – very awkward, IMO. She, like Nicole, was far too worried about all the STUFF and just didn’t let go. In any case, I’m calling her safe this week.

Chad – Look out, people, Chad is starting to get the hang of this thing. Or maybe it’s just the rumba that worked for him.

Niecy – Tough call here. I agreed with the judges comments. And I’m not so sure she’s safe because she’s playing it too safe on the dance floor. It’s getting to be crunch time and I had never heard of her before this show, so does she have a big fanbase?? No idea. I think she’s a remote possibility for the bottom 2.

Kate – I think she did indeed have a mini-breakthrough like Bruno said. But still awful. And still safe.

Jake – Attitude adjustment time for Jake – was it in time? I doubt it. Jake was in the bottom two last week, which means I over estimated the power of the Bachelor (or at least, THIS Bachelor). Question is, was it lazy fans who will pour it on this week, or do people just not like him? I think he might be in trouble.

Aiden – Poor Aiden. I think. No love from the judges. On the bright side, being the soap stud is probably helping. But I’m afraid he’s running out of time. It may be him and Jake in the bottom two tonight.

Okay, revisting the bottom four dancers in terms of judges scores, we have:
Jake/10.24
Niecy/9.70
Aiden/8.89
Kate/8.63

Kate is only 0.27 percentage points behind Aiden. What this means is, in order to stay over Aiden is that she has to get 2,700 more votes than Aiden per 1 million votes cast. That is nothing, if millions are voting – and Tom implied last week they were. So, for that reason, I think Kate will be with us for another week, at least.

What about Jake? Can Kate leapfrog above Jake leaving a bottom three of Niecy, Aiden and Jake? Kate is 1.62 % behind Jake, meaning she has to get 16, 200 more votes per 1 million votes cast to pass Jake. Sounds like a lot, but relatively speaking, it’s actually not. I think she can and will do it. Thank the housewives who relate to her.

The next question is: who is getting the votes between Aiden, Niecy and Jake? I would bet (not real money :-)) that Aiden can beat Jake at the very least. Aiden is 1.35 % behind Jake, meaning that he has to get 13,500 votes more than Jake for every 1 million votes cast. What do you think? Is it possible. Judging each guy on their own merits, I think most women are going to pick Aiden over Jake. Aiden only has to beat one person to stay in the competition.

Just for the sake of argument, let’s look at how Kate stacks up against Pam – a current judge favorite, at least, but she has been under the red light of doom. Pam is 4.04% ahead of Kate in the judges scoring, which means that Kate would have to get 40,400 votes more than Pam for every 1 million votes cast. You think she can’t? Read the comments for article like this one, where her fans spam for her.

I guess I’ve convinced myself, at least, that Jake and Aiden are still the two in trouble. But it could be Niecy because she’s not as endearing on camera as she once was, plus they gave her slow dances and a crap dance spot.

DWTS10 Week 4 Power Rankings

Tonight’s show has made me very, very crabby – odds are because I feel like I’m living in a parallel universe.  The people who usually stink did decently well, while the people who usually do decently well kinda stunk (except maybe Evan, but he’s so friggin’ safe it doesn’t really matter); the costumes sucked; the music sucked; and this two-score system sucked.  Let’s not even talk about the fact that Kim from The Real Housewives of Atlanta was sitting in the audience. I’m left with an overall feeling of SUCK. Not a happy camper…but let’s get on with it, I guess…

1.)    Evan & Anna – I actually wasn’t wowed by this tango – the choreo felt rather boring, and I am still getting a cold feeling from Evan.  He is improving each week, yes; but I am still not getting enough from him performance-wise.  Thought the choice of song was a bit ironic; wasn’t wild about the costumes, either.  But he didn’t foul up, and he got the highest scores of the night – and like Heidi, I am still fairly certain he is getting the biggest piece of the voting pie.  I don’t think they’ll get the encore for a second week in a row (I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be either Pam or Chad), but I sincerely doubt they’re even remotely close to being in danger…so you can rest your Twitter finger this week, Evan 😉

2.)    Pam & Damian – Ok, I’m putting it out there: these two are my faves this season.  I was so proud of Pam this week (and not just because she was wearing a shirt from Express that I also happen to own 😉 ) – she managed to wow the judges without being over-the-top sexy, and even managed pull out a sort of subtle vulnerability.  Granted, her rumba may not have been as difficult as Nicole’s, and her hair is still obscuring her face; but I found myself enjoying it the most out of all the rumbas because it felt sincere.  And while I hated most of the costumes tonight, I would have to say Pam’s is the one I would be most likely to don myself – she looked very pretty. Add to that the magical powers of the money spot (for the second time this season…hmmmm), and I’d say these two are pretty safe this week – and will hopefully get the encore 😉

3.)    Nicole & Derek – Oh dear Heidi, I’m afraid your suspicions about Nicole “throwing cold water” all over that rumba weren’t unwarranted – something was seriously wrong with homegirl tonight.  Perhaps nervous about giving everyone the “wrong idea”? Whatever it was, it managed to make what could have been a really good rumba just ok.  She seemed really hesitant with her hip action and almost uncomfortable looking Derek in the eye; but I was really impressed by her demonstrations of flexibility and that managed to redeem her a bit for me.  Definitely felt a lot more heat from Derek than from her on this one – but are we really that surprised? 😉 I think they’ll be safe this week, but hopefully they’ll get something really up-tempo (and not the least bit intimate) next week to help them climb back up the leaderboard.

4.)    Chad & Cheryl – Ugh.  I wanted to hate this rumba soooo much.  And while I still think it was really, really tacky – the feathers, the man-handling, all that god-awful fabric – Chad did improve, and these two are still riding high on the showmance gravy train.  I saw more coverage of this odd couple this week than any other couple on the show, and they’re still playing awfully coy about the whole thing, throwing out the  “are we or aren’t we?” card whenever they can.  Blech.  These two aren’t going home this week…thanks again Bengals fans, and thanks to you showmance fans too…now excuse me while I barf.

5.)    Jake & Chelsie – Remember last season when Aaron & Karina danced a quickstep with Muppets? Well, from the way Jake was cheesing during this tango, I felt like maybe the Muppets had come back for another cameo this season.  Cracked me UP.  In all honesty, though, I actually thought he did pretty damn good (even better than Erin) – up until the part where he tripped.  TWICE.  Oy.  But he did get a pretty good song, which seemed to help, and his fans will rally this week after last week’s scare.  Enjoy your free pass this week, Jakey.

6.)    Erin & Maks – Big disappointment this week.  Erin was the most awkward I’ve seen her all season – worse even than her cha-cha on the first night.  She’s still really struggling with her frame, and tonight’s “sexy times” with Maks didn’t feel steamy & alluring like they did during last week’s waltz – they just felt fake & forced.  Kind of surprising coming off the tails of their lovey-dovey spread in People last week.  I thought Maks did a good job of putting a lot of “meaty” tango content into the routine, but all-in-all, it all just kinda fell flat for me.  Even the costume – I loathe gowns with built-in gloves.  No help from running order either – they got stuck in the crap spot. I’m gonna say these two are PROBABLY okay this week, based on a few residual sympathy votes from Erin’s continued death threats (*yawn*) and of course, the magazine attention – but I’m crossing my fingers that they give Erin another Latin dance next week (samba, perhaps?) that she can use to bounce back.

7.)    Niecy & Louis – Niecy, Niecy, Niecy.  I am just always left wanting a little bit more from your performances.  Yet another night where you had such simple choreography, yet still managed to get lost in the emotion of the dance.  Please, for your sake & mine, let’s hope you get a fun, flirty dance next week where you don’t have to show any sort of deep-seated emotion.  I mean, you’re not bad, but you’re not great, either – if you don’t pick up the pace, you may take Chad’s place as the most disappointing cast member this season for me.  I think there’s a slight chance these two could be in danger, but I’m gonna cross my fingers that the bottom two this week are correct…

8.)    Kate & Tony – What better way for you to start the lead-in package than whining & complaining some more, Kate? I swear, I see a little more of Tony die each time I see him interacting with this infernal woman.  While Kate wasn’t completely unbearable to watch this week (I will admit, she did move around just a tiny bit more in the tango than in the paso), she still was a brick wall emotionally, and looked as though she would rather be anywhere but back on the dance floor again.  Hate to say it, Kate, but even Adam Lambert couldn’t inject any feeling into that tango.  I still want to see her go home – but everytime I predict that she does, she sticks around another week.  So, in a desperate act of reverse psychology, I’m going to predict that you DON’T go home, hoping that the opposite in fact occurs.  See? Perfect logic at work there 😉

9.)    Aiden & Edyta – Who did these two piss off in order to get the crappiest rumba song of the night? It certainly didn’t do them any favors, as Aiden still needs all the help he can get out there on the floor – he’s still the most awkward mover this season, and let’s face it – he was still just a prop out there, with Edyta gyrating around him.  Now don’t get me wrong, I really like the guy, and there are certain nameless people I would much rather see go home than him.  But I don’t think even the power of All My Children is going to save him this week after that non-event of a rumba.  Then again, he (hopefully) might just end up in danger, only to have his fans rally next week and keep him around a bit longer.  Here’s to believing in reverse psychology – get thee to a nunnery, Kate!

Ugh.  I need to go lay down now, after such a crummy & disappointing night of dancing.  Are you guys equally as disappointed, or do I just need a nightcap? 😉 HOLLER!

DWTS Season 10, Week 3 – Media, Part III

Entertainment Tonight from April 7, 2010 – Jon sues for custody, Kate takes the high road (sorta). Also, Buzz’s elimination. Erin and Maks comment on the next dance. Reba’s song for Kate. Las Vegas odds – Hmmm….I may have to put some money on Evan. Also a bit with Chad, and we hear from Kathy Ireland on her favorite (Stepford Wife?).

Entertainment Tonight from April 8, 2010 – Erin’s very first statement could also be said for Nicole. Hmmmm….thanks for sharing, Erin. 🙂

Extra from April 6, 2010 – Erin’s death threats. Chad and Cheryl and Erin and Maks on romance crap. Kate’s Easter, Buzz’s rehearsal and Pam’s good luck charm (Charo). Aiden has his 33rd birthday (lucky guy finally gets some press).

DWTS Season 10, Week 3 – Media Part II

Access Hollywood from April 7, 2010 – Erin’s death threats, Kate talks about Erin’s threat, Kate on US Weekly (LOL), and Kate on the after party. Chad and Cheryl on Cheryl’s ring, and a hilarious bit with Nicole, Derek and naked Bruno! Am I the only one getting sick and tired of all the implied and outright romance crap?

Access Hollywood from April 8, 2010 – All about Kate (gag). While I am sick of Kate, and really don’t like her – I have to say that if she was the FATHER of 8 children, no one would be giving “him” a bit of the crap that Kate is getting.

Entertainment Tonight from April 4, 2010 – Erin’s death threats, and they comment on Shawn Johnson’s similar issue. Also, Nicole and Evan in rehearsal.

DWTS Season 10, Week 4 – Who’s Dancing What?

Note to self – check last weeks dances….

Oy veh. The Rumba and the Tango. I have a feeling I might need eyeball bleach for Kate’s dance, regardless. Here’s what I think each couple is dancing:

Jake and Chelsie – Tango: Hmmm…Jake has surprised me thus far, but a Tango?? He might be a clomper.

Nicole and Derek – Rumba: Hee. I think the rumba is what happens on DWTS when you insist to everyone who will listen that you are not hooking up with your partner and that you love your boyfriend. 🙂 Girl, I believe you (until you say it another 10 times or so, anyway). But I am concerned that you might try to throw cold water on a Derek Hough rumba – and that would be a damn shame.

Evan and Anna – Tango: Of course he will be fabulous and will probably get his first ten of the season. Perfection is boring. Fight with Anna or something, wouldja?

Chad and Cheryl – Rumba: I’ve given up on Chad, actually. I had such high hopes for him and, while he improved last week, he’s still way more Maurice Greene than he is Emmett Smith. Maybe he will be the surprise of the week? Can he dance the dance as well as he talks the talk?

Niecy and Louie – Rumba: Niecy was disappointed she got another slow dance and I agree with her. I didn’t like it when they gave Joanna four latin dances in a row and I don’t like how Niecy’s getting all the slower dances in a row. But she’ll do well with the Rumba, regardless.

Aiden and Edyta – Rumba: Sabotaging him again, do you all think? The man likely doesn’t have hips, so they give him the rumba instead of a Tango where he might have a chance??

Erin and Maks – Tango: Surprise!! I thought for sure they’d give her and Maks a Rumba to try to take advantage of their non-mance. But maybe that’s what Erin and Maks wanted, so they gave it to Nicole, who likely didn’t. 🙂 I feel very “conspiracy theorist” today…

Pamela and Damian – Rumba: Get yer fire extinguishers ready folks.  Although I expect this to be smokin’ hot, I wonder if this won’t work against her? People may eventually get tired of the sexpot routine.

Kate and Tony – Tango: I’m not sure about Kate and Tony, but I’m thinking it has to be a tango, and from some rehearsal footage it looks like a Tango.  Doesn’t matter. Sure to be a disaster either way and Kate will stay another week.

So, what will affect some of the couples more strongly than others? Why the two sets of scores, of course. Are they desperate to get rid of Kate and save someone who might be in jeopardy? Someone we don’t actually KNOW is in jeopardy? Like…Nicole or Evan?? Nah, I still think Evan is going to win. Maybe they just want to get rid of Kate, and having a double low score (performance AND technique) might just be the way to go about it. Nicole, Evan, Erin all get double high scores, Pam, Niecy, Chad and Jake get a split – maybe Aiden too – and Kate gets a double low score. Hmmm…I may have to see if I can guess at the judges scoring too and see just how many votes Kate would have to get to stick around. If this is their plan and Kate still stays? We’re all screwed. 🙂

DWTS10 Week 3 – The Cheesecake Awards!

Welcome to the warped & ridiculous brainchild of Courtney & Heidi 🙂 We’ve decided to give silly awards for each week’s show – some are funny, some are shameful, some are just downright ridiculous.  But it’s all in the name of a good laugh and hopefully some great discussion! As for the name – we decided to call them the “cheesecake” awards due to Brooke’s awkward comment about cheesecake to Evan & Anna during week 2, and also because cheesecake can refer to anything that’s cheesy, tacky, or just funny. We plan to give the awards on Wednesdays, but this week just had too many events that begged for an award that we just had to do one for week 3. So without further ado, we’d like to bestow the first round of cheesecakes to the lucky (or unlucky!) winners…

Best use of white pants by a pro: Derek Hough

Heidi: Thank you, Baby Jesus. Um, hello there, little Derek. 🙂

Courtney: Didn’t anyone tell Derek that you aren’t supposed to wear white pants between Labor Day & Memorial Day??? Oh well, I enjoyed the view nonetheless (after Heidi brought it to my attention, of course 😉 ).  The people demand more white pants!

Best use of another pro as a prop: Jonathan Roberts & Tony Dovolani as 2 of the “Three Amigos” during Chad & Cheryl’s paso doble

Courtney: Best prop of the week, if you ask me! Any excuse to have Jonathan Roberts on camera is fine by me 🙂 Too bad he & Tony were the most memorable part of this routine for me…note to all the couples: if you’re going to use a prop, make sure you don’t let it (or him) upstage you! LOL

Heidi: OMG – rolling on the freaking floor at Jon and Tony’s cheesy grins in the celebriquarium.  Genius. I love the implied goofiness that dictated the use of them in another pro’s dance. I’m assuming that was Cheryl’s brilliant move. Brava! Unfortunately, Courtney’s right – those two are all I can remember from that dance.

Most indulgent song choice: “Paparazzi” for Kate Gosselin’s paso doble

Courtney: C’mon now…seriously? You’re always getting followed by the paparazzi? One, you are at best a D-list celeb; two, the last I checked, you were the one seeking the spotlight – not the other way around.  Not that the song did you any favors anyway…

Heidi: Even better was Jake’s sage nodding in the background during her interview in the celebriquarium – hilarious. Seriously, Jake? REALLY? Dude, you go to every paparazzi hang out in Hollywood and then mack on your fiancé for the cameras. The Ivy? Spare me your tears, little man. 🙂 You love it.

Best costume that looked better the 2nd time around: Chelsie’s acoustic paso dress

Heidi: So, the acoustic Paso dress was originally worn by Cheryl in her paso with….Gilles, correct?? That dress was so hideous that it made me forget how hot Gilles was!! I couldn’t look at the beauty of Gilles because my eyeballs had been burned by the horror of that dress. Okay…hyperbole. 🙂  And I think Cheryl has a great body!! Just not the body for that particular dress.

Courtney: Yep, it was her paso with Gilles – he looked fantastic (shirtless!) and I feel like that just made it look that much worse on her – I thought it made her look like the Michelin Man.  But on Chelsie – stun-ning.  I’m sure John would agree 😉

Most shameless vote mongering: Evan Lysacek

Heidi: Evan, for the love of all that is holy…chill the f*&k out. Picture me sitting in my overstuffed chair holding my blackberry and screaming as I received yet another plea to “vote for meeeeeeee, pleeeeeeessseee”. Dude, you tweeted every 10 minutes *during the show* in week 2 begging people to vote for you. It gave me an idea for a new show!! Spamalot, staring Evan Lysacek as Sir Evan…oh, wait. Eric Idle would likely sue. You do look good in tights, though, I’m sure.

Courtney: I haven’t seen so much spam since my Aunt Nadine’s 4th of July picnic.  For SHAME, Evan!

Biggest cranky-pants of the week: Len Goodman, with a (dis)honorable mention for Jake Pavelka

Courtney: My goodness, he was even more crotchety than usual this week…don’t know how that is even possible! Didn’t think he was so crabby as to bash a couple’s routine the day AFTER the fact…maybe he just needs a nap or something.  And Jake…we all know how I feel about Jake.  Would you like some cheese with that whine, my friend?

Heidi: Len is Len, but he did go too far with the Erin/Maks critique on the day after the performance show. That is beyond his pattern of always being nasty to the dancers with experience (it does make me wonder if she’s not getting enough votes, though).   But Jake takes the cake – what, you thought that everyone wanted your rose? Um, ick, the visuals…I just made myself nauseous. 🙂

Hairdo we never want to see again: Chelsie’s black Egyptian wig

Courtney: Some people are meant to have dark hair, others are not.  We like you blonde, Chelsie! And John, well…he LOVES you blonde. Don’t go changin’ on us ever again! You looked like a Cher impersonator.

Heidi: Was it the wig or the bad makeup? Or the horrifying combination? I don’t know.  And did they forget pieces of it were still there for her accoustic paso?? It looked small furry animals were hiding in her actual hair. Or were you trying to distinguish yourself from Jake’s fiancé Vienna?

Best Tom Joke of the Week: “And next week’s show will be on Pay-per-view” followed by “wonder who will have to clean that up?”

Heidi: I am madly in crush with Tom Bergeron – he makes me LOL nearly every show. Brilliant and wicked all at the same time.

Courtney: I feel your pain, Tom – I don’t want to even entertain the visual of Chad & Cheryl “making love on the dance floor”. ICK!  Still crushin’ on Tom here too…seriously, who would pay $10k to have Snooki at their event if they could book Tom Bergeron instead? Only one major caveat – his very presence just makes Brooke look even more inept.  Speaking of which…

And finally, the CheeseKake Award within the Cheesecake Awards:  Brooke’s “We wanna dance like that!!” remark in the red room after the acoustic paso. GONG!!

Heidi: Oh, Brooke, that comment fell flatter than a male pro’s washboard abs. That was just painful. I can barely bring myself to watch it over and over again. 🙂 Tell me, was it suppose to instill camaraderie with the other dancers? Be funny? What?

Courtney: I almost feel like we should be holding onto moldy fruit & veggies to be chucking at the screen every time she talks – some of her commentary is almost painful. Maybe not as painful as the cheesecake comment, but still – made me cringe. Definitely not a natural improviser like Tom is. But then again, nobody can compare to the glory of Tom Bergeron 🙂 *dreamy sigh*

Let’s have a big round of applause (or jeers, whichever suits you better!) for our first round of Cheesecake recipients! For those of you who are upset you didn’t get one this week, there is hope: you will no doubt do something stupid/funny/ridiculous/awkward enough in the coming weeks to get one.  Ooh, we can hardly wait!  Tune in Wednesday when we give our next round of Cheesecakes for the outrageous antics that are bound to arise from the tango & rumba! Scandalous 😉

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

Thoughts About Week 3 of DWTS Season 10

Well, if you haven’t done so already, go and read Heidi and Courtney’s DWTS prediction scorecard. Lots of good discussion to get your heart racing.

I will say that I agree that Jake has turned off a lot of people. My wife saw it from about the second episode of The Bachelor. I realized it once Jake said that Chelsie, yes I said little sweet Chelsie, was disrespecting him. Can you imagine if Jake had gotten Karina. She would have literally eaten him alive, chewed him up and then spit him out.

I actually don’t hate Kate as much as everyone else does. Ok, I do hate her dancing. It’s pretty horrible. However, she doesn’t bother me like everyone else. Granted I didn’t see any full episodes of Kate Plus 8 and I can’t imagine her life now with the Papparazi following her everywhere. How can a person stay sane with those crazy people and every entertainment show following her. Sure, she brought a lot of it on herself, but I have a little sympathy for her. Plus, she’s pretty hot since being on DWTS, just as long as she’s not dancing.

In other notes…
I hope that Chelsie never goes brunette again. Give me back my blonde beauty!!

What about Chelsie and Derek hooking it up? Why haven’t there been more rumors. I’m starting the rumor and see where it goes. After watching Chelsie’s dance tonight, she might finally be woman enough for Derek to consider.

@GamblingLaker mentioned on Twitter that “Derek INTENTIONALLY wanted a non-10 choreo.” I agree completely. I think that Derek didn’t want Nicole to peak too early. If you peak too early the judges need a story to tell and will find a way to score you lower. Better that Derek keep Nicole’s scores lower early on when she was more than safe against the other contestants and then save the higher scores for later in the show when she might need them more. Conspiracy theory? Maybe, but let’s not think that Derek didn’t know what he was doing when he did a lift and broke hold.

Chad Ochocinco has been my biggest disappointment this season. His dancing has been horrible. His posture kills me. How Cheryl can’t see and somehow fix that is crazy. Maybe his height and hers is the problem. I thought he’d be smooth on the floor and he has it in him, but up until now he’s killing me with how bad he’s dancing.

Ok, I lied. Ashly dancing with Buzz has been the most disappointing part of the season. That’s not saying anything about Buzz either. I just wish that I could really see what Ashly has in her. If she’s not back next season I’ll be extra mad at DWTS. Just not right.

I read that Heidi is missing Lacey Schwimmer. She was a big disappointment for me in the pro dances. Not sure why since I actually did like her more when she was on the show. My wife also commented that Lacey had put on some pounds it seemed. I can’t say that, but women can. Although, she’s right. I guess she’s missing the 6 hours a day of dancing (working out) that the show offered. I can’t imagine what a body is thinking when you go from dancing that much and then not dancing that much.

I’ve actually liked Anna Trebunskaya twice this season. That’s 2 more times than I’d liked her and her partner in past seasons. Not sure what’s different, but she’s done some great routines and really gotten into them.

Did anyone else fall in love with Cowgirls tonight after seeing Snejana Petrova and Edyta Śliwińska? Reba’s first song was horrible, but Snejana and Edyta saved it for me. It’s amazing what beautiful girls dancing can do to ANY song. (I’m sure you girls can insert men for this comment)

There’s something about Damian that just bugs. Is he made of plastic?

Ok, there’s certainly more, but we’ll save it for another week. What think thee?

Week 3 Media – DWTS Season 10

Part one of what is sure to be a ton of media.

ET after Monday night’s show:

As usual, all the couples are interviewed by the Local ABC affiliate – click the link to see couples other than those I posted below.

Okay, I would have uploaded more, but the rest of the videos are acting up for me, for some reason.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
