PureDWTS DWTS Junior Season 1 – The “What To Look Forward To” Spoiler Thread **SPOILERS AHEAD**

So I was struggling with the whole spoiler situation, relative to DWTS Junior – since it’s being pre-taped, for the first time, we have spoilers that could potentially reveal the outcome of a show that’s not due to air for 2 more months…and I’m not really cool with that, since I want people to tune in and actually watch the show; plus I’m not really looking to get into any Reality Steve vs. The Bachelor-style legal brouhaha’s. So if you’re looking for who got eliminated – look elsewhere, I promise there are people on Twitter who are more than willing to share that info with you if you just know where to look. What we’re going to be sharing here is the good stuff – stuff you can look forward to watching once the show starts airing in October πŸ™‚ What we share may vary week to week, based on what we hear from sources and people fortunate enough to attend the taping…I’m leaving this a bit open-ended, until I figure out the right format for it. I’ll update as I hear more, so stay tuned. Now if you’re just looking for pro/celeb/mentor/etc. spoilers, go here; if you are looking for an explanation of how scoring/voting will work, go here.Β  Be warned – spoiler-y stuff after the jump… …Read more

PureDWTS DWTS Junior Season 1 – Partnership Predictions

I know some of you have been waiting on this, and I thank you for your patience – I wanted to do this right and I wanted to research thoroughly, so it took me awhile. Basically, any information you see in the tables I created that is in bold has been confirmed (names of pros/celebs participating, their ages, their heights, etc.); if it’s not in bold (be it a celeb’s name, their age, their height) it’s not confirmed, but it’s my best guess. You’ll notice we have a lot more information about the junior female pros than the male ones – the male ones, I’m flying a bit blind on, so this is me working on some hunches and general gut feelings. I’ve also included some “things to keep in mind” that influenced some of my hunches about pairings.Β  So with that, let’s get down to it 😎 Read more..

PureDWTS DWTS Jr. Internet Watch – Interesting Things on Twitter & Instagram

Ok, since my DM’s on Twitter have been blowing up with questions of “Did you see who [insert pro here] followed?!” or “OMG [insert celebrity child here] loves slime and [insert pro here] just posted a picture with slime!!! Are they paired up???”, I figured now was the time to pull the trigger on what I will call an “internet watch” post. This is going to be the place where you find all of the interesting, peculiar, curious, and suspicious goings-on between the pros, junior pros, potential kid celebs, etc. on Twitter and Instagram (and maybe Facebook, if anyone actually still uses it anymore) that aren’t necessarily concrete enough to elicit their own post, but are food-for-thought nonetheless.

First, a bit of a disclaimer: I’ve kind of said this already on Twitter, but DWTS Jr. is going to be different than DWTS (because these are kids, not adults), and thus I feel like I need to approach it differently; with that being said, I’m not sure spoiling anything that isn’t already somewhat common knowledge (i.e. the kids posting on social media, or anything other media outlets have already leaked) feels…ethical. Source has told me just how excited the kids are, and want everyone to be surprised at the cast announcement – and that gives me pause, because I don’t want the junior pros/their celeb partners to be disappointed. So with that being said, I’ve decided not to spoil any celeb names that haven’t already been hinted at or leaked by others – I’ll speculate along with you guys on things you see, but I’ve gotten a few of the kid celeb names, and they’re names that NOBODY is talking about; I’m going to keep ’em to myself unless some other outlet spoils them…and knowing this show, someone will eventually. Be patient πŸ™‚ Read more..

PureDWTS Lindsay Arnold Plays Basketball For Charity At 50K Charity Challenge Celebrity Game

So last night was the 50K Charity Challenge Celebrity Basketball Game at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, and Lindsay was one of the celebrity players along with Season 24 MBT-holder Rashad Jennings…and Black-ish‘s Miles Brown (this is important – more on that later). Her DWTS Jr. mentee (and younger sister) Rylee, and her mom were there to cheer her on.Β  More at Just Jared Jr

Lindsay Arnold readies her free throw shot during the 50K Charity Challenge Celebrity Basketball Game at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on Tuesday night (July 17) in Westwood, Calif.

The 24-year-old DWTS pro joined Rashad Jennings and Miles Brown at the event, and during halftime, Lindsay tied with Colton Underwood and Brittney Elena during the free throw competition.

Each player picked up $5,000 for their chosen charity. Sweet!

Check out Linds’ run at the free throw competition…

How you might know her: She’s Lindsay’s youngest sister, and tried out for SYTYCD: The Next Generation (but didn’t make it to the live shows).

Celeb partner: Miles Brown

Rylee (and Brightyn!) talk SYTYCD: The Next Generation

Dancing some cha-cha with her competition partner, Daniel:

Doing hip-hop (with appearances by Brightyn & Hailey):

Doing some contemporary…

And the lovely Arnold ladies πŸ™‚

Court’s thoughts: Rylee on her own is going to be staunch competition – like Lindsay, she’s cross-trained in just about every style, and she seems to excel in ALL of them. God bless VIBE and the cross-training they give their kids – all of their dancers are so well-rounded πŸ™‚ But when you add Lindsay’s guidance and her choreography to the mix? Calling it now – barring any shenanigans (and there had better not be any, with these adorable smol pros that I already feel very protective of), we will see Rylee in the finals of DWTSJ. Like Lindsay, she has IT.

PureDWTS DWTS Junior, Season 1 – Let’s Talk About the Cast (So Far)

Because it was pointed out to me that the comments are no longer open on the original post (which is supposed to happen after a post is over a month old – a nice little feature John added to prevent trolls from stirring up trouble on old, dead posts), and the original post was getting kinda long, I figured I’d move everything to a new post so everyone can discuss the recent developments we’ve posted πŸ™‚ I’m not going to copy/paste everything from the original post, so for other details beyond the cast, go here.Β  And if you want to be completely surprised by the cast when DWTSJ airs starting in September, PROCEED NO FURTHER – SPOILERS AHEAD!!! PureDWTS Season 26 – Who Would You Like to See on DWTS Junior? Court Picks Pros & Celebs

So we’re still over 6 months away from the premiere of Dancing with the Stars Junior next spring, but given that any show with minors seems to take quite a bit more planning, I’m guessing the casting directors are already wheeling & dealing on who they want on the show – after all, they’re not just casting potential celebs, but pros too…and apparently a host, as well, as Tom has said he will not be hosting the spinoff. Alfonso, you still lurking around set? πŸ˜‰ We need a host, bruh. My gut’s still telling me that Maks will somehow land on the judging panel, and I guess I can only hope that being a father himself with have softened him a bit…I don’t think I could bear a whole season of him being as big a jerk as he was guest judging switch week on DWTS.Β  And to kids, no less 😯

I had mixed feelings upon hearing about the spinoff – and if I’m being honest, my feelings are still pretty mixed – but at the very least, I think having a brand new set of pros, judges, and celebs (and perhaps a bit of a new format, to accommodate the unique nature of casting kids) might give me a bit of a reprieve from the manipulative grind of the regular DWTS. And the fact that all of the pros are gonna be brand new? Makes it hard for producers to play favorites πŸ™‚ But I do worry about seeing young kids face rejection on national television, especially after seeing young kids cut on World of Dance this summer…I just hope the producers know they have to handle them far more gently than they do the adults on DWTS.

So all that being said – who do I want to see as pros and celebs on the show? Well, given that they haven’t really specified what the age range will be, I am gonna guess that anyone under the age of 18 is probably going to be eligible to be a pro or a celeb partner – similar to the competitive ballroom world, where 18 is more or less the cutoff for dancing in the youth division, and then they make you just start doing adult amateur events. Yes, I’m aware that Willow Shields was only 14 when she did the regular version of the show – but if we cut it off at 14, we actually lose some potentially good pro and celeb choices, and I don’t think the show is going to be able to afford to be THAT picky.Β  So 18’s my cut-off, and all of my picks won’t turn 18 during the airing of the show, either.Β  I was also realistic – I doubt we’re gonna see the children/siblings of any huge, A-list celebs on DWTSJ.Β  So yeah – no Jolie-Pitts and the like on this list.Β  I listed celebrity children that I think the show actually stands a chance of possibly getting.

I find myself caring more about the pros than the celebrity contestants (although there’s two celebs that I’ve already picked out pro partners for… πŸ˜‰ ), but I had a good time compiling this list nonetheless.Β  Let me know what you think πŸ˜‰ Read more..
