DWTS13 Week 5 Interviews After The Dance Part 2 (2 Dances Revealed For Next Week)

Below are more interviews from Access Hollywood (two dances for next week are revealed in their interviews), ET, and PopTVDotCom. But, let’s go to Donny Osmond first with his take from Good Morning America. He thinks Nancy or Carson will go home tonight. He’s especially worried for Nancy since she’s in a “no man’s zone” on the leaderboard. Surprisingly, I pretty much agree with Donny this time, do you?

Be sure to read Louis Van Amstel’s complete review on the night at his ABC Blog as well. Below is a take for who he thinks might go home and who will go to the finals…

Overall. Relatively speaking, I’m worried for sure for Carson, but also a bit for Hope, Nancy, and Rob.

I’m very proud of Chaz and David this week. Ricki and J.R. are in the finals in my book. The question is, who will be the third couple to join them? This week, I’d choose David!

And now onto the Access Hollywood interviews….

DWTS Season 13 Week 5 Interviews After The Dance Part 1 (Videos)

What a night last night, huh?! George Pennacchio from On The Red Carpet was there to interview all the couples and get their reactions after dancing. Let’s go to Ricki and Derek first because I thought Derek had the best 80’s hair. 😀

Humble and positive as always, Derek knows they didn’t have as great of a dance for having the song they did. Ricki is a little disappointed in herself and hopes she didn’t disappoint Derek. Derek assures her everything is fine. They are having fun! (Don’t you just love Derek’s HAIR? LOL!)

George asks Anna and Carson what happened. Carson says he knows they weren’t flawless. He got a little sassy with the judges because he didn’t think they deserved two “6”‘s since they had good choreography with tricks. Never the less, they had fun and are not disappointed in their dance. Many of his dreams have happened because of Dancing With The Stars and Carson has even has been able to cross off things on his Bucket List.

Rob tells George of how pleased he is with his progress and performance. Cheryl stresses how hard Rob is working and how much he wants to dance. Rob is loving the positive feedback ever since he started which has helped. Never did he think he’d be able to get in a second place position. The smile below says it all…

The DWTS Couples Dish On Their Aches And Pains, Their Next Dances, And More! (Videos)

Let’s get right to it again with some new On The Red Carpet interviews with the remaining couples after week 4 on Dancing With The Stars. I love how George Pennacchio is always able to dig a little deeper with his questions (this week he asks on their aches and pains and how they combat it) and finding out new information and hidden gems for their upcoming dances. NOTE: All but one dance is revealed for next week below.

First up, Derek talks a little on his dislocated shoulder, but, he is ok and ready to take on next week’s dance. They have the Fox Trot to an 80’s theme song which they wouldn’t disclose.

Carson and Anna talk below of having the Jive next week which will have an 80’s song, but, they hope to take it into “another dimension”. What does that mean…especially with Carson involved? He says they plan to get perms. LOL!

George asks Maks and Hope if they have any aches and pains. Hope’s aches and pains are more in her heart than in her body. Dancing (and Maks. lol) are more of an ache and a pain on her mentally. They tease each other as well as comment how much they respect one another. They are dancing the Tango next week to a Bon Jovi song.

George starts out this interview exploring Tristan’s comedic side!! Nancy jokes of how she hasn’t seen that side of Tristan yet. She gets very serious too talking of how blessed and thankful she is to still be on the show. (They don’t talk of their next dance or song.)

Chynna Phillips And Tony Dovolani Dancing With The Stars 13 Elimination Interviews (Videos)

Below are some new interviews with Tony and Chynna after their elimination last night with On The Red Carpet, Access Hollywood, ET, Good Morning America, and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE. They tell their thoughts on their elimination. She talks of her donations, her future plans for an album, and more. Maks has a few words to say in their defense in the second interview. The other couples do as well in the third interview. Billy Baldwin is really upset over the elimination which you can watch in the 4th and 5th interviews (I’d sure like to see him do the show in the future, would you?).

DWTS Season 13, Week 4 – The Results (SPOILERS!!)

Well, the results are in….and Derek dislocated his shoulder in rehearsals.  Oh, wait…you want the other results??

Well, I continue to SUCK at predicting who will go home.  And I’m getting bitter about it.

Chynna and Tony leave us tonight and I have to say that it kinda pisses me off. Yeah, it’s how the show works and we all know that. We had been worried since the beginning that Chynna wasn’t making a big enough impact over all – then to have an off night on top of that??  It is horribly unfortunate.  Hate it.

I wish I had been right for a change.   In other news, Courtney’s record is no better than mine.  I’m in good company. 🙂

DWTS13 Week 4 Interviews After The Dance Part 2 (Videos)

In Part 2 of our interview posts, we have interviews with Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight, but, first let’s go to Hines Ward with his thoughts on the dances last night on Good Morning America HERE. Hines is rooting for David Arquette (since Kym was his partner last season), but, thought Ricki and Derek had the best dance of the night. He thinks they will be in the finals.

Louis van Amstel also reviewed the dances. Below is an excerpt from his new blog at ABC. From a dancing point of view, Louis is most worried for Nancy and Chaz tonight! He liked J.R and Karina’s dance the most. He also liked Ricki and Derek! Here is more of his thoughts on some of the other couples….

3. Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya’s Viennese Waltz

Where would the show be without Carson? Their dance is such a clever way to mix entertainment value and still use elements of the Viennese Waltz. Carson executed the choreography well. Lucky for Carson, Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” is slightly weird and effeminate, which gave Carson some leeway on his movements, which are slightly awkward at times. Len needs to lighten up! Yet he was cute saying he’d vote for them! Scores should have been like Chynna’s (three 7s) or even an 8 for Carson’s entertainment value, given this is movie week and Carson really expressed the dance he was given. (Carson got 6 from Len and two 7s from Carrie Ann and Bruno for a total of 20 out of 30).

4. Nancy Grace and Tristan McManus’ Paso Doble

I thought the video intro package was great and if Nancy can bring her TV persona to this dance she’s going to kill it. Nancy was good at the twist turns, which are the recognizable moves of the dance, but this song did not help a bit to create a powerful paso doble. I could see Nancy’s will to do well, so it wasn’t for her lack of effort. It was a clever move to make the skirt too long because it hid flexed feet and bent legs when they’re supposed to be straight. I kind of agree with the judges, but I don’t agree with Carrie Ann. Nancy needs to improve technique now to stay in the competition. Nancy, point your toes and become more aware of your legs! Wow, I did not agree with the scores. I’m sorry guys I thought this was more a mix of 6 and 7, especially compared to other couples. I love you Nancy, I want you to do well!

5. Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Foxtrot

Cute and what works for Hope is she’s solid in knowing the routine. The weird part is when Hope is doing the hard part in close hold she does better than when she’s alone which makes Hope look a little stiff at times. In other words, when it’s difficult choreography she does better than when it’s easier. Less thinking Hope and more doing, get out of your head. Totally agree with Len’s frustration. Team work is everything. Scores are great, on the high side though imo.

DWTS Season 13, Week 4 – Dancing by the Numbers

Ya know, I almost give up on trying to predict what will happen – my record is for crap this season. 🙂 I’m in a slump. And this week is worse than most because there is a huge spread between top and bottom, but no spread at all in the lower tier of dancers. Add in the fact that Chynna blanked completely and doesn’t likely have the passionate fanbase as some of the others and you’ve got troubles.

That said – there is such a thing as a pity vote and she’s likely to get it. I actually was a bit worried about Ricki and JR – a whole bunch of pissed off voters voting for the lower level people could mean trouble for them as well. Unlike Courtney, I didn’t get outraged at JR’s scores – I just wasn’t overly impressed with JR’s dance. That said, of course, I think the 8 was ridiculous. But when you have a 20 and a bunch of 21’s, does that one point for JR really matter? Nah, probably not. I did watch the dance again and revised my opinion somewhat – lovely dance. The 8 is still ridiculous. I wonder if he set the bar too high for CAI or if she’s just off her meds. We’ll see next week if he’s back in business.

I should learn by now that when Derek gets that freaked out look on his face upon hearing his music it generally means he’s going to rise to the occasion. 🙂 Two 10s though? One would have been enough, just because it started a tad rough. But, damn, over all that was impressive. Rather worried that all those people raving on twitter over the dance didn’t vote.

I also have to give major props to Hope and Maks – FINALLY a lovely dance that I can get behind. Well done – very sweet.  And better than Rob and David by more than what the scores indicated.  Not sure what Len is on about unless he’s afraid that she’s not getting the votes because up to now she wasn’t connecting.

Anyway…

Let’s look at the numbers.

The Judges Scores and Percentages

Place Celebrity Score Percentage
1. Ricki 29 13.88
2. JR 26 12.44
3. Hope 24 11.48
3. Rob 24 11.48
5. David 23 11
6. Chynna 21 10.05
6. Chaz 21 10.05
6. Nancy 21 10.05
9. Carson 20 9.57

DWTS13 Week 4 Interviews After The Dance Part 1 (Videos)

Where oh where do we begin today? So many cool interviews after another fun dance night!! Let’s begin with the best, George Pennacchio from On The Red Carpet!! Note: There isn’t an interview with Tony and Chynna. Maybe the two passed on being interviewed this time or maybe it will be posted later? Another Note: TWO dances are revealed in these interviews if they make it to next week…

First, we have Maks and Hope talking about Len’s comments of “going all the way.” George asks if the judges comments and scores boosted her confidence. Hope says she honestly gets her confidence from Maks. George points how Maks is a great therapist as well as a dancer. Maks says the “coach” is always the most hated or loved person depending on the results and such is true for dancing.

George tells Chaz that he has something unexplanable inside him. Chaz says he just keeps trying as hard as he can. Chaz also talks of how he felt with the support of his family in the audience. Cher was so proud and gave him a standing ovation. However, she didn’t understand the judges scoring. Chaz and Lacey said, “No one does!” (isn’t that the truth? lol)

Rob is happy for how he is warming up to the judges. Cheryl says Rob is going to really bring it next week and they are going to step it up. They have the Rumba and he’s a little nervous to show a sexy side. Cheryl raves on him and thinks Rob is a serious contender. Hmmm…

DWTS13 Week 4 Power Rankings

To begin, I’d like to thank the judges for screwing themselves, the couples, and us for starting the evening off being far too kind with their scores for Chynna – and thus throwing a wrench into tonight’s scoring, which was downright wacky. Seriously – on a night that had the potential to be reeeally good, the judges managed to turn everything into an absolute joke with some of their feedback. Thanks, stooges.

Aside from that nonsense, I actually thought everyone (with the exception of maybe Chynna) did pretty damn well.  Was it cheesy? Of course.  But that was half the fun of it 😉 As for my rankings, though – aside from my top 3, I have absolutely no effin’ clue who will go home.  Literally, I’ve been staring at the scores and my notes for 15 minutes and I’ve changed my mind about 15 times.  Thus I’d like to claim a rather large margin of error 😛

1.) Ricki & Derek – Ok, I will admit – I don’t think this tango was 10-worthy.  9-worthy? Definitely.  But I guess on a night like tonight, with the bar set so low by Chynna and the judges clearly adjusting their scoring to compensate – I can SORT OF understand how they ended up with a 29.  Doesn’t mean I think it’s right 🙂 Technique-wise, I do think this was the performance of the night – this was so damn CLEAN.  Performance-wise…I don’t think it was Ricki or Derek’s best dance, but I do kind of appreciate that they didn’t go the over-the-top, full-on cray-cray route in trying to embody the theme of Psycho.  The silhouette part at the beginning & end was a subtle, visually-striking homage to the movie.  With the points spread being so vast, and with the judges making it quite clear who their favorite is…I think I’ve got a better chance of firing a pistol into the night sky in fury and somehow hitting Carrie Ann in LA than these two do of going home.

2.) JR & Karina – I give up.  What is the judges’ problem with JR??? Seriously – the dude is probably the most likeable guy in the universe.  I’m talking basket-full-of-puppies likeable. Aaaaad…*drumroll please*…the dude can actually dance, too.  And look like he’s having a good time doing it! I’m baffled as to why it pains them so much to praise him, let alone score him properly.  I’m getting this bad feeling that if the judges don’t shape up, JR could be Ralph all over again.  Let’s hope I’m just being paranoid 😯 I actually thought this dance was strong in technique, entertainment, and theme – it stayed true to the theme without being over-the-top, much like Ricki & Derek’s tango.  Not sure what Carrie Ann was smoking when she said it “didn’t need to be funny” – clearly that bimbo hasn’t seen The Pink Panther.  What, was she expecting a repeat of his heart-wrenching rumba last week? SMH.  AAAANYWHOOOO…they got the pimp spot and the 2nd highest score of the night, and I can’t imagine there aren’t some fans that are as angry as I am who are voting their fingers off right now in protest.  I look forward to these two making CAI eat her words next week…and I hope she chokes on them.
