DWTS 2012 Donald Driver Says Peta Murgatroyd Is All About Being Perfect

What a cute photo of Peta going to rehearsals yesterday!!! I always like her sense of style. She could easily be a model. You can see another fun picture of her at the Daily Mail. They are also featuring this little excerpt from Donald Driver and what he told Packers.com on her and their rehearsals.

He recently told Packers.com: ‘Peta is getting all five hours out of me.
‘She’s all about being perfect, and that’s not a bad thing. With me, she knows I can continue to go and go. I don’t get tired.

‘She’s been strict with me. For me, it’s that posture part. Peta says, “Don’t look like a robot. Football players always look like robots”.’

Watch this space. We hope to have a new rehearsal interview with these two a little later. 😉

Introducing Dancing With The Stars Season 13′s New Pro Peta Murgatroyd!

Next up in our new Season 13 Dancing With The Stars Pro installments, is the one of the most beautiful, exciting, refreshing women dancers to hit the stage both in musical theatre productions and now Dancing With the Stars Season 13: Peta Murgatroyd!! Once again, I’m asking Heidi and Courtney for their thoughts, feelings, and predictions too which you can find at the end. Before we begin, I’d like to thank Burn The Floor, PetaMurgatroyd.com, The Marie Cauley Suite, Newsday, Regard Magazine, Music Fashion Magazine, and Pilates Style Magazine for information, pictures, etc..

Let us begin!! The beautiful Peta Murgatroyd was born July 14th in Auckland, New Zealand. At 18 months old, Peta and her family moved to Perth, Australia where her parents could give her brother and her more opportunities in life. According to Peta, her mother always knew she was “artsie” and at 4 years old, Peta started studying to dance. She trained for 12 years at the Kirov Ballet under Madame Lubov Nikonorenko and became a classically trained ballerina. Peta was also trained in Contemporary and Spanish dance! At the age of 16, Peta started to ballroom dance and only after three months of training became an Australian Open and British Youth Latin finalist.

Peta then moved to London, England to further her career and compete. Amongst many international competitions Peta finished 2nd in the Great World City Championships and was a semi-finalist in the Lion City Championships in Singapore. Peta was also a finalist in the Australian Open championships. But, nothing meant more to Peta when she placed 3rd in the world at the British Youth Latin Championships in Blackpool, England in 2006 where she “wanted to live and breathe the life of a dancer”.

In 2004, Peta’s musical theatre career really took off when she was chosen to be a cast member of Burn The Floor. Her lifelong dream of dancing on stage and living the life of a true dancer had come true. Like fellow cast mate Tristan MacManus, she travelled the world with them for 6 years. In August 2009, Burn The Floor hit Broadway. It was at this time Peta was made the lead female dancer.

It was January of 2010, Peta made a decision to pursue a career in film and television. Since that time, Peta has performed on Dancing With The Stars in Australia and America and So You Think You Can Dance in Australia and Holland. Peta has also choreographed and performed with great artists Heart, Rod Stewart, Taio Cruz, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, and New Kids On The Block. Peta also toured with the theatrical dance production “Ballroom With A Twist”.

But, things really started to pop for Peta again in the Spring of 2011. Peta was hired to become a member of the Dancing With The Stars Troupe. Due to her success and quick popularity on the show, she was promoted this Season as a Pro partnered with L.A. Laker Ron Artest.

Peta’s career doesn’t stop with dancing. She’s also done some modeling and recently did some fun spreads for Regard Magazine as well as Pilates Magazine. It’s no wonder ….as well as being beautiful, I’ve always thought she had a natural knack for soaking up the camera just like the dance floor.

Peta dates beloved fan favorite and former Season 10 pro dancer Damian Whitewood who she met in her homeland of Australia. The two reside together in Los Angeles, CA.

Here’s to the lovely Peta and one of my favorite women pros! We hope her run on Dancing With The Stars is a long one and we wish her much success! If you haven’t read our first profile on Tristan MacManus, you can do so here. Stay tuned, Val Chmerkovskiy is next!

Ok, here are Heidi and Court with their personal thoughts on Peta and we’d love to hear yours as well…

Courtney: Are all Kiwis & Aussies blonde, willowy, & gorgeous? Because between Peta & Kym, I’m beginning to think so 🙂 Seriously though – I think Peta may be the closest thing to a replacement for Edyta that we’ve seen so far.  Beautiful girl with a rockin’ body and impossibly long legs, and not afraid to show some skin! She also seems rather soft-spoken & calm like Edyta, which will help when it comes to dealing with potentially squirrely partners.  And she and Damian are just PRESH together – very striking, pretty couple, much like Edyta & Alec…only with a bit more personality, methinks 😉 I’m definitely excited to see just what she can do with her partner…and with the other pros, in both team & pro dances.

Heidi: Heh, you said squirrely.  🙂  Frankly, I have a hard time focusing on Peta when that pic right up there has bare chested Damian in pajama bottoms.  Oohh yeah. That’s nice.  Anyway, yeah, Peta is gorgeous and she does seem calm – but hopefully she’s not toooo quiet. She didn’t have much to say in one of the rehearsal videos I saw – and I think that was part of Damian’s problem.  I think the producers LIKE the pros to talk and have personality – or BE personalities. It certainly doesn’t hurt the show!  But we’ll see – we haven’t seen really that much of anyone yet. 🙂

DWTS 12 – New Dancing With The Stars Dance Troupe / Peta Murgatroyd Returning

I’m not sure what is up with this news. I can’t find any new press releases on it yet. But, take a look at what Petra Murgatroyd tweeted yesterday at her twitter account when PureDWTS reader Ryan (aka @rjyTT) asked her if she would be returning to the show to do pro numbers.

If it’s anything like the Dance Troupe on “Strictly Comes Dancing”, they concentrate on choreographing and performing spectacular demonstration dances on the program which sounds similar to what they do now in the pro numbers? Peta has also been mentioning a photoshoot taking place this past week that she partaked in. Damian as well. So, I’m wondering if he’s involved and if it was for this new “Dance Troup” as well? All eyes on Dancing With The Stars come Monday to see what might be up!! Not long to go now. 🙂

Special thanks to Ryan for bringing this news to our attention. 😉 xx

DWTS Season 12 – Meet The New DWTS Cast (Videos, Interviews, etc)

Are things getting exciting yet? 🙂 In case you missed the LIVE broadcast during The Bachelor lastnight, here’s a video with Tom and Brooke announcing all the new celebrity cast as well as a small interview afterwards.

ETOnline also interviewed the new crew. LOL to Wendy Williams over her excitement of the wardrobe and costume department. She’s going to be so funny.

Be sure to check out the DWTS Official site, they have new profiles and pictures of all the celebrities!! They’ve done their homework. The person I was most curious about was Mike Catherwood since he’s virtually an unknown except for in the Los Angeles area on radio. But, he recently filled in for Regis Philbin on “Live”. Read a take below from Zap2it. Picture of him at the link as well. Is he cute or what? 😀

“I feel like there’s a better chance of my name coming up as a possible lunch date with Kelly Ripa than a fill-in for Regis,” he says, brushing off the notion that he’s a candidate.

“It’s a pretty cool gig,” he says. “It couldn’t hurt my cred being on the biggest ABC show out there, so let’s just throw that in the mix. Let’s get something started.”

Consider it started.

With that out of the way, we were mostly curious how his inclusion on the show came to be. “I originally didn’t want to do it,” he says. “It sounds super corny, but I didn’t want to make my life a series of running away from things that scared me. I want to take this tidal wave of intimidation and go after it, so at least I can have the gratification of knowing that I did that.”

Admittedly “not a graceful dude,” Mike is more apprehensive about his reception than his actual performance. “Being judged,” he says is what he’s most nervous about. “And not just necessarily by Carrie Ann and the crew… the viewers. Anyone here who says they’re OK with that is lying. It’s tough to put yourself out there to be criticized, but that’s the viewers job.”

Thanks to PureDWTS reader Figamentation for this video of some of the celebrities and pros arriving and leaving the DWTS afterparty last night.

Lastly, here is Good Morning America today interviewing the stars.

So, here’s to tomorrow (during Good Morning America) when we find our celebrities official partners!!

Dancing with the Stars Season 12 – Who’s Dancing with Who???

Well, we can’t be positive until tomorrow. There have been rumors, per TMZ, of course. Actually, instead of guesses, I’m putting in what I’ve seen on Twitter, either via TMZ or DWTSGossip – stay tuned for the reality tomorrow morning. 🙂 If there was no rumor, I guessed. I have a feeling I’m going to disagree with some of these pairings. I love digging up clues for who’s going to be on, but the publishing of the pairs ruins the fun of guessing. Oh well.
Who’s Dancing With Who??

Celebrity Celeb Height Pro Height Pro Dancer
Kirstie 5ft.7in. 6ft. 2in. Maksim
Kendra 5ft. 4in. 5ft. 7in. Louis
Chelsea 5ft. 6in. 5ft. 8in. Mark
Lil’ Romeo 5ft. 9in. 5ft. 2.5in. Chelsie
Wendy 5ft. 11in. 6ft. 1in. Tony
Chris 5ft. 10in. 5ft. 4in. Cheryl
Sugar Ray 5ft. 10in. 5ft. 4in. Anna T.
Petra 5ft. 8in. 6ft. 1in. Dmitry
Ralph 5ft. 9in. 5ft. 5in. Karina
Hines 6ft. 5ft. 7in. Kym
Mike ?? 5ft. 3in. Lacey

Personally, I think Maks should have gotten Petra or Kendra (or Chelsea) and Dmitry should have gotten Kirstie because he’s quiet and she’s NOT. I’ll have more tomorrow. I’m exhausted from trying to update this site and failing so many times. 🙂

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS Season 10 Gossip – A New Male Pro?

Twitter is a wonderful thing. It lead me to a comment from someone asking Maks if he heard that Damian Whitewood from Burn the Floor was going to be on DWTS Season 10. With a little help from my friends, I found that Petra Murgatroyd (also of BTF) had posted on her Facebook that Damian, her boyfriend, is going to be on:

Now, there a couple of ways Damian could be on DWTS season 10. One – as a pro dancer in pro dances. We’ve seen that happen time and again. Aliona Vilani, who is currently on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK, showed up on a few episodes as a pro dancer a season or two ago, as have others. The second option is one that has tremendous potential to piss me off in a big, big way. 🙂 That option is as a new pro partnering a celebrity. Now as much as I complain about certain males (Alec and Dmitry, to name two), I don’t want to see ANY of the regular pros replaced by another against their will. The only way that I would not throw a hissy fit is if it turns out that Alec, Tony and maybe Derek or Maks (or others) had better plans and asked out for a season or two, a la Julianne. This is entirely possible, of course – I’ve heard whispers of Alec and Tony both having movie roles in Europe. I don’t know that they were large parts, but they certainly could be timed right to take them out for a season. Derek – he has been answering the “are you going to be on Season 10” in a variety of strange ways. One answer was “I’ll always be involved in the show in one way or another” or something like that. Recently he was asked and his head was shaking no while he was claiming ignorance. He also said has “new adventures” this year. He was very smiley and happy, so I think something else is going on there (Access Hollywood – note what he says about Julianne). Then there’s Mark – Mark has a lot of different things he’s working on as well.

Or is it someone else?? I don’t think that Maks, Derek, Mark or even Tony would be replaced just for the hell of it because they are extremely popular – I think that is obvious. Let’s face it – the audience for this show is predominantly female and we women love our hot pros. Dmitry has his fans as well, so as much as I am not a fan, I kinda doubt he is in jeopardy.

The math here is pretty simple. We had 8 male pros last season. The producers claim they are reducing the couples to 12 so that implies only 6 male pros. That means two lose their job already, without a new guy coming in. For Damian to have a full time job, that means a third pro won’t be there. So…anyone have any scoop?? Do three of our men have new jobs? Or is one (or more) being fired to make room for Damian?? Come on now – I don’t want to be pissed off by myself. 🙂
