DWTS Season 25, Week 6 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

Couldn’t find the press release this week, so I got these from DWTSGossip. I also didn’t have time to look and see if these songs are actually associated with movies, or if they were given a song/dance style and then the movie genre to work within. I’m thinking this MIGHT be better than giving them an actual movie. We’ve had some crap ass Movie nights when too many of the movies just didn’t work. Anyway…

Winners: Lindsey has done a bit of AT with the master, Derek, so she might have a bit of leg up, depending on how much AT he actually taught her in their 3 hours of rehearsal. Frankie doing Jazz should be a good thing – no rules and all that.

Losers: Oy veh – Nick and rumba?? Should be a disaster. Nikki gets “foreign” as a genre? Hosed. First she gets the Disney song no one knows and now this? Sheesh.

Everyone else is probably fine. I wonder if they’ll all get 24. 🙂 Read more..

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

ABC Releases Entertainment And Dance Duel Details For Dancing With The Stars Week 5

Get ready! According to ABC MediaNet, music icon Carlos Santana, Train, and Selena Gomez will be the entertainment this coming week on Dancing With The Stars. The “Macy’s Stars of Dance” will also be returning to perform. Their dance will feature Sheila E. Don’t forget, the judges will also have the final say with the “Dance Duel”. Below are some details. Note how Louis Van Amstel makes a return to Dancing With The Stars. Details for how the Dance Duel will take place is also mentioned…

“Episode 1405 & 1405A” – It’s Latin Night on “Dancing with the Stars” and Global Music Icon Carlos Santana takes over the ballroom with performances of some of his classic hits throughout the evening. In a stunning opening number with the Troupe, Carlos Santana will perform his first ever Top 10 hit, “Evil Ways.” He will also perform his popular hit song “Maria, Maria,” featuring dancers Louis Van Amstel and Anna Trebunskaya. And the remaining nine couples will heat up the floor dancing either the Salsa, Argentine Tango or the Samba, MONDAY, APRIL 16 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC.

On Tuesday night, Grammy® Award-winning band Train take to the stage with an awesome performance of “Drive By,” their first single from their latest album, “California 37,” accompanied by Louis Van Amstel and Cheryl Burke. Pop sensation Selena Gomez and her band, The Scene, will perform their hit single “Hit the Lights.” The Latin themed performances continue with this week’s “Macy’s Stars of Dance” performance called “Carnaval,” a celebration of Latin dances featuring acclaimed percussionist Sheila E. The performance is choreographed by the talented Liz Imperio, who has directed Gloria Estefan’s last three world concert tours and choreographed for Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

Also, this week’s bottom two couples will face off in a Dance Duel. The two couples will perform the same dance style, this week the Cha-Cha, to the same song at the same time. The dance floor will be split in half as the couples dance side by side and the judges will decide who stays and who goes home, TUESDAY, APRIL17 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

Why am I so nervous after reading that? I’m glad I’m not them. 😯
