Dancing With The Stars Judge Bruno Tonioli Writes About His Glorious Vacation In Sicily

Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonioli took a wonderful time out in the off season to take a Taormina holiday in Sicily. He writes all about it at the Daily Mail. While on holiday, he also ran into the Andrea Wong, the lady responsible for the US version of Dancing With The Stars. Below is a little snippet, but, be sure to see the link for more of his vacation in detail. Breathtaking pictures there too and now I’d like to visit there!

I passed on the various excursions and did what I normally do on holiday: I stuck to the beach and the restaurant and spent my time reading books – I really enjoyed the new Edith Piaf biography.

Perhaps the book I should have taken was D. H . Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover, which he wrote while living in Taormina. Apparently the character of Constance – who has a passionate relationship with the gardener Mellors – was based on an Englishwoman living at Taormina at the time.

But I didn’t spend the whole time quietly reading. I bumped into Andrea Wong, the lady who turned Strictly Come Dancing into Dancing With The Stars for US television.

I hadn’t seen her for two years and then suddenly I turned around and she was behind me, on the beach. We were screaming! We had a very nice lunch, talking over some of our good times.

Sicily is really one of my favourite places. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy it all over again.
