Dancing with the Stars Season 20, THE FINALE – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

Sounds like we’re going to get a whole bunch of contemporary, whether we like it or not. I say not, for the most part. It’s so over done now. Geez, I’m not old enough to be whining about the Good ole days, but that’s what I feel like doing. ๐Ÿ™‚ Remember Derek and Jennifer’s freestyle – simple dance, but so nostalgic and tailored perfectly for Jennifer. Half the internet screamed “She carried a watermelon!!” What about Hines Ward? Love it or hate it, that Freestyle was different. As was Amber Riley’s. I could go on, but what’s the point?

Thing is, when you do contemporary, you’re now working against a very strong couple of dances from Derek and his partners. Unless you really go out there, you run the risk of being very derivative. Although that’s not really new for one of our couples. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyway, I still have high hopes for Noah and Sharna – theirs looks like it has potential. The rest? Jury is definitely out.

I got this info from the press release via @DWTSGossip. Could have gotten it myself but I can’t find the damn password to the ABC site and the lovely Vogue is taking care of some personal stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚

In the two-hour Season Finale on TUESDAY, MAY 19 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET), the show kicks off with a high-energy opening number featuring a reunion of all 12 of this season’s couples in addition to the judges and hosts. Then, one couple will perform an encore of their Freestyle dance as decided on by the judges. The finale will also feature a performance to “Juicy Wiggle,” by RedFoo and encore performances by Charlotte McKinney and Keo Motsepe to “California Girls,” Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani to “Copacabana” featuring six additional dancers, Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson to “Bills,” Chris Soules and Witney Carson to “Footloose,” Willow Shields and Mark Ballas to “Alice’s Theme,” Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough’s Charleston to “Honey, I’m Good” featuring a performance by Andy Grammar and much more. The night will also include a reprise performance from Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev to “In Da Club,” and the Grammy award winning artist will also perform her hit song “2 Steps Away.” Additionally, fan favorites from past seasons Amy Purdy, Alfonso Ribeiro and Sadie Robertson return to the ballroom for special performances. Sia will perform her hit song “Elastic Heart” with a special dance performance by Derek and Julianne Hough. The star studded night will continue with a performance by Jason Derulo singing his hit song “Want To Want Me.” In the last element of competition, the couples will perform a new routine as part of a “24 Hour Fusion Challenge.” The remaining couples will fuse two contrasting dance styles that they’ve performed this season and they’ll have less than 24 hours to prepare that dance for additional judges’ points. At the end of the night, the winner of the Gold Mirrorball trophy will be announced!

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week 9 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

And this week we have two dances again for each couple, one of which is Judges Pick. How convenient we have Judges pick BEFORE the finale. Let’s see who gets hosed this week.

Clearly not Rumer – the Argentine Tango totally plays into her ONE NOTE. Plays to all her strengths. I fully expect Riker and Nastia to get something exceedingly boring and/or out of character. Read more..

Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week 8 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

What’s the damn theme for this week?? America’s choice?? :::sigh:::

Vogue: According to our new Media post, the couples have a TRIO dance for next week too.

ETA: Vogue here again. I just did a run through of twitter accounts and instagrams. Below is some more dance info in red.

ETA2: Court hopping in ๐Ÿ™‚ Filling in some of the blanks on the trio dances – we’re about 90% sure on Rumer’s trio pro, but we do know for sure that she was the only one who picked a pro/troupe member of the same sex. Read more..

Dancing with the Stars Season 20, Week SEVEN – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

The week of the dreaded double elimination. So twoone couple gets to dance their little hearts out only to be voted off the island. Oh, wait.

Anyway, here’s what we know so far.

ETA: Along with the couples having their regular dances, they will also have to prepare three immunity dances for next week according to E Online’s interview with Sharna. She and Noah also have a Jazz for next week. ~Vogue

ETA2: Below are the rest of the dances in red. To read more dance and entertainment for Week 7, see the ABC Press Release.

ETA3: Thanks to the internets, we THINK we know two of the songs. Nathan says Rumer’s was confirmed on twitter although I sure can’t find it. But then again, I’m sick so I’m not up to full power. As for Nastia, she retweeted Andy Grammer when he said he was performing and said “We can’t wait” or some such thing, which I took as a tentative confirmation.

DWTS Season 20, Week 5 – Dancing by the Numbers

Ah where to start this week? Well, I could rant about the judges (or was it just CAI) being total nut jobs in their scoring โ€“ towards Nastia and Robert, in particular โ€“ but I feel like Iโ€™m preaching to the choir and I got it out of my system earlier in the week. Besides, it very likely doesnโ€™t matter that CAI is a complete ass, because I donโ€™t think anyone is touching Nastia, Riker, or Rumer. And probably not Willow either. Although you never knowโ€ฆ

Will There Be An Elimination On Dancing With The Stars Season 20 Week 6?

Just a small and quick update: We’re not sure if there will be an elimination or not on Dancing With The Stars this next Monday? In rehearsals on DWTS All Access, Sharna Burgess reported there wouldn’t be an elimination. Noah Galloway also reported the same in a new interview with Men’s Health Magazine. Then last night at twitter, George Pennacchio tweeted there would be an elimination (via an ABC Press Release). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see?

ETA: Per our source, there IS an elimination Monday, but it’s justย a regular, single elimination – and the double elim that was planned for later in the season has been cancelled. In other words – business as usual on Monday.

ETA2: According to Tom Bergeron, there will be a double elimination next week.
