DWTS Season 16, Week 3 – Who Got the Boot? (SPOILERS)

Gee, to think Zendaya won Prom Queen. That wasn’t at all expected. :::rolls eyes::: To make matters WORSE, the judges pick Sean for the encore? This show got off to a craptastic start. Bruno was the best part of that encore.

Anyway, Lisa, Wynonna and Andy were in jeopardy tonight.  Lisa was then called safe and Brooke said that Wynonna and Andy were the BOTTOM TWO.  For those of you not paying attention. 🙂 Wynonna was then eliminated.

How did we do??

Heidi: Said Wynonna was going home, if not her then DL or maybe Lisa.

Courtney: She had D.L. with Lisa second to last and Wynonna third to last.

Vogue-y: Also had D.L. with Sean next to last.

Winner: Me and Andy. 🙂

Singer and DWTS Wynonna Judd’s Husband Cactus Moser Walks For The First Time Since Leg Amputation

This is just too awesome for words. I can’t imagine how relieved Wynonna and her husband Cactus are?! What a journey and emotional ride they’ve been on!! No matter what happens to Wynonna tonight on Dancing With The Stars, this is a true blessing and a shining star reigns….

Wynonna Judd’s husband, Michael Scott “Cactus” Moser, is doing a two-step again.

After enduring life-threatening injuries from a motorcycle accident that took one of his legs, Moser walked for the first time Monday with the assistance of a prosthetic leg.

“After eight months of waiting, he walked towards me for the first time two days ago,” Judd, 48, told People backstage at “Dancing with the Stars.” “It’s been an emotional ride for me this week.”

Fellow “Stars” contestant Lisa Vanderpump was one of the first people to walk alongside Moser.

For Judd, seeing her husband walk again “freaked me out because I’ve seen him in a wheelchair and using a walker, and he just walked towards me and I was like, ‘Wow.’”

Seeing him come full circle was an amazing experience for her.

“I was so stunned,” she continued. “I saw the wreck; I saw him lose the leg.”

Moser, 55, collided with an oncoming vehicle on Aug. 18 while riding alongside Judd who was on her own bike. The couple took the leisurely ride before their scheduled performance in Deadwood, S.D. Although Judd was not injured in the accident, her drummer husband was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

“The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I,” she said in a release at the time. “Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side.”

The couple, who married in June, continue inspiring each other through it all.

He even reassures her while she’s being whisked around the dancefloor by her partner, Tony Dovolani.

“He’s so positive,” she said of her husband. “I call him Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky. It’s really irritating, because sometimes I just want to complain or act tired about dancing, and he’ll say, ‘But you’re moving, and you’re looking so great.’ I’m like ‘Go talk to Tony. You guys are so alike.’”

DWTS Season 16, Week 3 – Dancing by the Numbers

Well, okay, that wasn’t as horrendously awful as I expected it to be, although still pretty bad. I thought at first the judges were being pretty darn lenient, but then I realized they were trying very hard to make sure that either DL or Wynonna went home. Everyone else pretty much got a free pass for the week.  Actually thought Zendaya struggled a LOT with the Waltz, but then Kellie had a bit of trouble with her Jive as well – although it did deserve the top spot on the leader board. Jacoby, on the other hand, did a great job with his rumba – he should probably be tied with Kellie.

Then again, it doesn’t probably matter with Wynonna only having a 15. It’s also not going to matter who the Prom Queen is, unless it ends up being Wynonna.

So, let’s look at our scores and percentages:

DBTN week 3

Well, this time, DL and Wynonna are the bottom of the leader board and this is some new territory for us. Last week, DL was saved and Lisa and Victor were in the bottom two. The judges did some ranking and may have saved those two – but then again, maybe not.   I would bet that DL and Wynonna have fanbases that beat Victor and Lisa. Read more..

GMA, Sherri Shepherd, and Louis Van Amstel Weigh In On Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Week 3

Sherri Shepherd helps the cast of GMA review the dances last night on Dancing With The Stars. Sherri had high praise for Val and Zendaya and Kellie and Derek. However, she didn’t have high praise for Wynonna Judd. She’s “trying” though. She didn’t like D.L. either and says black men(like white) can’t dance either sometimes. When asked on Andy, she says he is loving life. She thinks he can go the distance and go far. You can view this review at GMA HERE.

Also, Louis Van Amstel has a new review up at Good Morning America. He picks Zendaya and Val’s dance as the “performance of the night.” He’s the most worried for Wynonna and Lisa. He thinks Lisa is going home (Uggh, I hope not! I think D.L. should go home!). Here is a take and be sure to read the link for more.

Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani’s. Argh, I so want to be positive and say great things, but I have to be honest and write what I see. I want Wynonna to get out of her head and show the movement like she hears music. If she does, nothing can stop her. I have to agree with the judges, unfortunately. Also, why not show a more feminine side of Wynonna? She has great legs. The dance needed more bounce and flexibility to make it a Samba. In relation to other couples the scores are OK, but I hope she gets the votes. I want her to stay in the competition. Yes, I’m being partial!

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd’s Cha Cha. Sean looks very awkward in the beginning of the week, but somehow with his hard work he’s much less weird when he performs. Sean will have to work on his technique and musicality if he wants to stay up there with some of the other celebs. The scores are nice.

Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy’s Viennese Waltz. Even though I’d like to see more vulnerability and tenderness from Zendaya’s movement, I think this was the performance of the night. The only thing I disagree with Carrie Ann on is I would like to see a more mature quality in Zendaya’s movement. Len go home, it’s American style Viennese Waltz, unless the show changes the rules and states clearly how much has to be done in closed hold. I would have liked to see a nine to make it at least equal to Kellie’s Jive.

Kellie and Zendaya are heads above the rest. Jacoby is behind them and then there’s the rest of the pack. Not having thought about this too much, my intuition has me worried for Wynonna and Lisa. I think Lisa is going home based on dancing and last week’s outcome. D.L. got creamed by the judges, which might make you vote for him, in my opinion.

So, do you agree with Louis?? I think he should be praising Jacoby and putting him in the same class as Kellie and Zendaya, but, he nailed it for Wynonna for me. I also think Tony’s costumes for Wynonna have just been awful. Why didn’t Tony deck her out with a dazzling feminine 3/4 length Samba dress last night? What she wore was all wrong for her. I disliked the cheesy theme too. Come on Tony!!! Let’s step it up!

Ok, that is all for now. Stay tuned for Heidi’s new Numbers and Predictions post coming up in a bit!!! 😉

PureDWTS Interviews And Media After Week 3’s Dances, A Cast Full Of Heart

What another great night…and one with a cast full of heart and emotion. George Pennacchio of On The Red Carpet asks the couples all about it in his new interviews. He gets their reactions on their dances last night too. Let’s get right to them…..

First up, Jacoby and Karina. George starts out asking Jacoby about all of his funny faces. He talks of how he is a male version of Karina. They are so much alike. George says the producers picked such a great cast for the heart this season. There is so much harmony and they are all friends.

Kellie can’t believe they are at the top of the leaderboard. Derek loves this season and cast so much because everyone is so “real” and full of raw emotion. When asked and put on the spot, Kellie doesn’t know if they can make it to the finals. She’s just there to work hard and have fun not the competitiveness so much.

Val is usually not too concerned about what the judges say. He usually sees the issues and knows what to do to improve. He’s so proud of Zendaya and happy so far with her. Zendaya talks of how there is a funny side of Val that the camera doesn’t see. She says there is heart in the cast because that’s who she and they are. She is happy her Grandmother loved their dance last night and that’s all that matters versus scoring and anything else.

Ingo was a little disappointed with last night’s dance because of a wardrobe malfunction they had. He also didn’t feel as comfortable with this dance until yesterday morning. They had some challenging moments this past week, but, they work it out and aren’t dramatic.

Andy tells George says this is a cast of “sensitive artists” (so true!). He wants to cry almost all of the time. Next week (if they make it), their dance will be for his 15 year old daughter. George tells Andy the crowd loves and enjoys what they are doing out there regardless of their scores. Andy isn’t happy with his scores and the Cha Cha was harder for him, but, he’s hoping next week will be better. He’s says their dance will be slower.

DWTS 16, Week 3 – Power Rankings

Well…that was special.  Aside from a few bright spots, I don’t know that I could have choreographed a sh*tshow that was sh*ttier than tonight’s show – yeah, it was pretty bad.  I guess I expected it to be pretty tacky, given the whole prom theme…but there were some all-time lows hit tonight.  And there was some definite tinkering going on with the scoring – scoring that makes me think they’re trying to backdoor some floundering couples.  But let’s right to it, shall we?

1.) Jacoby & Karina – I still stand by my week 1 claim that Jacoby is a shoo-in for the finale and will likely play spoiler to whoever else ends up there and will pull out a win.  And tonight really solidified that for me – because this guy can DANCE.  Sure, he’s a little cocky, a lot kooky, and can handle the goofy, uptempo dances like the cha-cha and jazz…but the true test was him tackling the rumba tonight, and that he did.  He actually let down his guard quite a bit and showed us a vulnerable side – I thought their rumba was quite lovely, and Jacoby had some great extensions and footwork going on.  A few footwork issues, sure, but overall, he & Karina really sold it for me, chemistry-wise.  And here’s the big advantage he may have over Kellie & Zendaya: he’s got a bit more of a learning curve to work with.  While Kellie & Zendaya are both great dancers, I’m beginning to think that viewers (and their increasingly unpredictable voting behavior) may tire of them topping the leaderboard week after week…and while Jacoby is still up there pretty close, he may get a bit more leeway because he’s more unexpected – it’s a bigger shock that Jacoby’s legitimately good, than it is for Kellie or Zendaya.  Who knows…I never really know what to think about the voting from week to week.  But I do know he’s safe for quite awhile.

2.) Kellie & Derek – Did one of you mention that Kellie was sick this week? If so, I will cut her a bit of slack on what I thought was a good (but not great) performance, and applaud her for soldiering through.  I think this had the potential to be a fantastic routine – they got a great song and a great theme to work with, and this stuff is right in Derek’s wheelhouse.  Very fun jive (without copying any moves from the movie, mind you), and Kellie kept up pretty well for the first half – but then I think she got tired and lost steam, and suddenly she wasn’t bouncing quite as much and her kicks got a bit soft.  But it was still a great performance, and I sincerely doubt she’s in any danger this week…but I am crossing my fingers that she can somehow pull off getting prom queen J Read more..

Louis Van Amstel’s Thoughts And Predictions Before Showtime DWTS 16 Week 3

Hollywood.com has posted Louis Van Amstel’s thoughts for who he is the most worried about and who he thinks will be ok tonight on Dancing With The Stars Week 3. It sounds like he is the most worried for D.L. Hughley and Wynonna and yet, there is hope. He predicts Zendaya, Kellie Pickler, and Jacoby Jones will come out on top. Andy Dick may not have as much dance ability, but, he has the “performance” factor (Loves this about Andy too!! He has the performance factor in spades!). More below and at the link….

As for Andy Dick, van Amstel thinks he’s got nothing to worry about despite his less-than-perfect dancing ability. “Andy is not going home,” van Amstel says. “From the package point of view, from costuming, staging, production value, dance content, music, they had the best performance. I’m not talking his dance ability, because Zendaya, Kellie [Pickler], and Jacoby Jones are way better dancers but with the package, the comedy played up to his strengths. I thought it was the best package as a whole of the night, and I did not see that coming.”

The top three dancers of the night according to van Amstel are still the same as Week 1: Zendaya, Pickler, and Jones. “Kellie won the night, by far. But having said that, Zendaya had to perform and dance in heels and had to learn proper jive. That is harder,” van Amstel says. “So to me, the girls are in the top three. And do not rule out Jacoby Jones. The guy was amazing, and he is not a dancer. He is a football player. In the packages, that’s where Jacoby Jones shines. His personality is contagious.”
