Carrie Anne Inaba Writes On DWTS Week 6, Leona Lewis In Audience Three Times This Season

Carrie Ann Inaba has written about Dancing With The Stars Week 6 at Access Hollywood. Wanya and Lindsay was her favorite this week. She gives advise to all the couples. She also talks on who was in the audience and more. Interesting for what she said on Leona Lewis. We better put her on our Rumor/Watch list.

ETA: According to a few fans in comments (thanks, Guys), Leona is dating Dennis Jauch (one of my new favorite dancers on the troupe). So, that may be why she’s been seen in the audience so much.

On a side note, I’ve seen Leona Lewis in the ballroom three times this season. I wonder if she is considering being a contestant on the show. Last night the audience was filled with fun folks. Michael Sam was in the house, Marissa Jaret Winokur an Lance Bass and Joey Fatone from *NSYNC all came for famous dances night. Famous Dance Night at DWTS can be a challenge because when you reenact an iconic dance, you are stepping into some very large shoes to fill. And last night’s dances were not easy dances to reenact. I would say the most difficult ones were, Michael Jackson’s “Bad,” choreographed by Jeffrey Daniels, Janet Jackson’s “Nasty,” choreographed by Paula Abdul, and Pink’s “Try,” choreographed by RJ Durell and Nick Florez. Because these dances were music videos, they were created to specifically highlight the singer’s unique style. They weren’t only about great dancing. The chore of the DWTS choreographer was to find a way to recreate these dances with their nonprofessional dancer and highlight what is great about them without losing what was great about the original. Once again, just a quick shout out to all the dancers who choreograph these routines every week.

Wanya and Lindsay were my favorite this week. That number was way too cool for school and has anyone noticed how thin Wanya is getting? He’s lost so much weight and he’s getting even better as he thins out. The choreography was incredible and really cool and innovative. They reminded us of the original performance with the intro but Lindsay and Wanya took it to a new level and owned that dance. They owned the night as far as I’m concerned. And Bruno agreed. Antonio came back with a bang… it was fun to see those feet in action. His Jive was very well suited for his athleticism. When he did those shuffles the beginning, his feel barely touched the ground. And that performance closed the night with a bang. I’m proud of him for what he taught us all about teamwork with his discussion with Sharna, but anyone who knows Sharna knows she’s 100% behind him and with him for the long haul. She’s a dedicated partner and he has nothing to worry about. But I will say that I (and the whole ballroom) were deeply moved by his teamwork speech. Go Steeler Nation.

Can’t wait for next week! Double Elimination. These couples better work hard this week and give us their best, because this season the competition is fierce. There is no consistent front-runner. It’s going to be a close race all the way to the end!

Emma Slater Reviews Dancing With The Stars Week 6

Emma Slater has written a new blog at Hollywood Life. Last night, Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold were her favorite. Read on to see why. This take also includes her thoughts on Sharna Burgess and Antonio Brown.

Well I’m done, Wanya Morris, and Lindsay Arnold had the dance of the night for me. It was a close one as tonight’s show was sensational but I just couldn’t take my eyes off him. Another display of expert choreography by Lindsay which by now we’ve come to expect and love her for. Wanya was killer in this NSYNC ‘Bye bye bye’ performance. I love the seamless double spin at the end, he’s great at rotation as well as owning a natural groove which goes hand in hand with rhythm for the music. Lindsay and the three amazing Troupe dancers flanked Wanya so well, making sure to keep him the focal point and highlighting brilliant synchronization as a group. In fact, I didn’t see Wanya out of time at all with the others. He kept up and delivered a truly NSYNC performance the way it should be. I’m glad that has so far been scored the highest dance of the season and it’s quite fun that it didn’t score all perfect marks because it gives them both the opportunity to smash even this dance. 29 was their score.

Now I definitely appreciate the effort that Antonio Brown put in this week. I think the shock of seeing his partner perform so well with another competitor last week was a little too much for him. I think the dance was a strong effort and really stretched his ability. Love the footloose theme for him. As always, Sharna Burgess did a great job at setting his choreography. He was highlighted more in giving him Jive choreography that wasn’t too taxing and that had ample jumping opportunity as he’s quite good a getting height when he jumps. This hoedown style was probably the best jive for him as it’s casual and relaxed. In saying that though (and please don’t hate me Antonio fans) it wasn’t a 9 for me. The ability just isn’t there, the technique is missing and if you actually look at the skeleton dance that he is performing (not the smoke and mirrors around it) this particular dance doesn’t warrant a 9 for me. This is my opinion, I know others will disagree and that’s fair enough. I say this with respect, I would never critic if it wasn’t my own opinion or out of spite. I just find it hard to be blown over when I know I’m looking at cracks that have been filled with polyfilla (excuse the analogy, just want came to mind).

This week was a flaming success if you ask me, I love the Iconic Dance theme. And yes, I do like each celebrity with their original partner, I feel at ease watching them again. Next week it’s not only Iconic Artist themed week, the team dances are back! It’s the Male celebs VS the Female celebs so who will be the stronger sex? Let me know your thoughts on this one, I’m quite intrigued! Thanks for reading guys! See you lovelies next week!

Lots more at Hollywood Life.

PureDWTS Season 22 Week 6 Media, Scores, And Interviews After Dance Night

What a night again on Dancing With The Stars! I was impressed in different ways with them all. More on this later in comments in Courtney’s new Power Rankings post. For now, I have to say I was sad to see Doug Flutie eliminated. Though kudos to him and Karina Smirnoff. I loved how they did so with a bang and with a “Bollywood” dance to boot with such beautiful moves mixed in. And Doug….I’ll never forget his piercing gorgeous eyes for the way he took on the Paso Doble and other dances. He also proved age is only a number and that the football fighting spirit never ends. Doug, thank you for dancing and with all of your heart and soul.

So, before we get to the interviews and recaps, let’s review the scores again….

Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold (Jazz) 10-9-10 for a Total of 29
Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas (Jazz) 9-10-9 for a Total of 28
Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess (Jive) 9-9-9 for a Total of 27
Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe (Contemporary) 9-8-8 for a Total of 25
Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd (Quickstep) 8-8-9 for a Total of 25
Kim Fields & Sasha Farber (Jive) 8-8-8 for a Total of 24
Von Miller & Witney Carson (Jazz) 8-8-8 for a Total of 24
Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy (Jazz) 8-8-8 for a Total of 24
Doug Flutie & Karina Smirnoff (Bollywood) 7-7-7 for a Total of 21 (eliminated)

And now onto some media. First, go to Glamour and ABC7 for their recaps and photos. Glamour is also suppose to post some interviews later. For some fun Team Boomin’ coverage from Pittburgh, see WTAE here.

You can also read some new interviews at People. I loved what Wanya told People about NSync…

With a performance like this, Dancing with the Stars won’t be saying “Bye Bye Bye” to Wanya Morris any time soon.

The Boyz II Men star performed the NSYNC hit – in front of his close friend Joey Fatone and Fatone’s bandmate Lance Bass. After a spot-on performance, Fatone burst into (mock) tears backstage, but got serious as he said he and his bandmates look up to Boyz II Men star.

“We’ve been friends a long time and I know how much they looked up to us before they started their own careers,” Morris told PEOPLE after Monday’s show. “So it’s really great to get to now pay homage to their great success as a band. It’s a full-circle moment.”

Be sure to see E Online’s interviews after the show. Note how Wanya said they went straight to team rehearsals after the show last night. Read more..
