The Dancing Poetry Corner – Holly Jolly Finale Celebration

I preface my column with the hopes that you all had a Thanksgiving full of fun, food, fellowship, however and wherever your celebrations took you! My column is late due to much preparation, lots of family around, celebrating the many blessings of my life! It has been a blessing to be able to share my love of Dancing With The Stars with all of you through the compilations of written words. I hope you have enjoyed the hard work and attention to detail when preparing my work to share.

The lyrics to Celebration Time by Kool and the Gang came to mind as I watched the two night Dancing with The Stars Finale. A festival was taking place on the dance floor. An all out dancing celebration! The ballroom was shaking, was filled with rousing applause! Dance after dance filled our senses with pure delight! A sense of revelry, an atmosphere of conviviality was shared by the dancers! Friendships formed that will last, bonds were made to last forever. That spirit of camaraderie far eclipsed the Mirror Ball Trophy. The blinged out Mirror Ball was the prize, the bedazzled trophy was hoisted in celebration of a magnificent couple worthy to call it their own!

A genius idea was to take the second night of the Finale on location to The Grove. The Holiday atmosphere was on full resplendent display! The show seemed larger than its dancing life with the stage bedecked with a mammoth, sparkling Christmas tree and other visual delights! It certainly was a sprint between there and the studio, but through the genius of production it worked seamlessly! Read more..

DWTS Season 22 Possibility: NY Giant Rashad Jennings To Dance On Dancing With The Stars?

According to a new interview with TMZ, NY Giant Rashad Jennings is very interested in dancing on Dancing With The Stars when his football days is over. Not sure if next season is a possibility, but, you never know? I love when football players dance. What do you think?

NY Giants RB Rashad Jennings says he wants to be the next Michael Sam … ’cause he is itching for the opportunity to strut his stuff in front of the world on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Jennings was out in NYC when we talked about his television watching habits … and asked if he’d ever be down to trade in his cleats for dancing shoes to compete on ‘DWTS,’ a show he said he LOVES.

Check out the clip — Rashad says ‘DWTS’ is definitely something he wants to do when his football days are over … and is desperately hoping he gets the chance to prove it to producers.

Sharna Burgess Talks On Nick Carter, What He Found While Doing DWTS, And More – New Interview

Sharna Burgess was on KTLA today. She talked about the Dancing The Stars finale and Nick Carter. Dancing didn’t come as natural to him as he and everyone thought, but, he found something else more important while doing the show (awww moment). Great interview and she looks so pretty! Don’t forget you can see Sharna on the Dancing With The Stars Live tour. For tickets, see this link. Thanks to @Idolxfactor for recording.

Make Your Pro And Troupe Wish List For Dancing With The Stars Season 22

It’s that time again! Question: What Dance pros would you like to see dance on Dancing With The Stars Season 22? Pick only 12 (6 males and 6 females). You can also pick a few Alternatives in case they make the cast a little bigger or in case your main choices don’t work out. Who you would you like to see in the troupe as well? Let us know your picks in comments and then we’ll send this post to the Producers in a few weeks. Reminder: Remember Allison Holker will be having her baby next season, so, it wouldn’t do any good to include her in your list.

Ok, here is my Pro Wish List:

Females: Sharna Burgess, Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya (she cracks me up and I totally enjoyed her being back on the show for Season 21), Emma Slater, Peta Murgatroyd, and Lindsay Arnold. Alternatives: Elena Samodanova, Edyta Sliwinska, Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson

Males: Derek Hough (but, only if he wants this to happen. I’d really like to see him be a creative director instead and bring back the Macy’s Stars Of Dance numbers, etc), Gleb Savchenko (but, I also support his choice to dance on Strictly Come Dancing or DWTSRussia too for whatever he wants….just so he’s dancing for the masses is all that matters and he’s in a place where he can do his thing and grow. Sometimes I felt like he was too limited on our version), Mark Ballas, Sasha Farber, Misha Gabriel (I love new blood and I’m curious what Misha could do for DWTS), and Aljaz Skorjanec (from SCD! He’s amazing. He would be a good replacement for Tony). Alternatives: Artem Chigvintsev, Alexey Balash (from DWTS Russia),

As for the Troupe: Paul Kirkland (he’s such a creative choreographer. He’s limited in ballroom, but, he can do it if asked and he’s a force in hip hop and freestyle), Witney Carson (I don’t like her as a Pro, but, I would love her on the troupe), Nika Kljun (this girl is theatrical and a constant work of art), Sonny Fredie Pedersen (same as Nika Kljun), Hayley Erbert, Paul Karmiryan (I love his complete joy for the dance floor). I also really enjoyed some of the dancers they brought on for the finale this past season. I’m not sure on some of their names, but, they were good.

Special Note: We plan to do a Celebrity Wish List very soon as well! So stay tuned!

Allison Holker And Louis Van Amstel Talk On Dancing With The Stars And More – Videos

Allison Holker talked about her baby and her future on Dancing With The Stars with Got Pap. They mention how she has 4 more seasons of the show, but, she says she will definitely be taking off next season since her baby is due in March (which we knew already). However, she also mentions how she might dance in a few numbers afterwards. You can listen to her at this link. She is radiating and looks so beautiful. Thanks to @DWTSGossip for the heads up.

Got Pap also talked with Louis Van Amstel at the airport after the Dancing With The Stars finale. They talk on Anna Trebunskaya, the finale, and about athletes doing the show. You can listen to this interview at this link.

BC Jean and Mark Ballas attended and performed at the 84th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade in Hollywood, California on Sunday. Below are some photos. If you’d like to see more, see Getty Images. I can’t get enough of these two. Note that the parade is scheduled to air throughout the holiday season on the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel and in syndication across the country. For exact air dates and times, check your local television listings. The parade will also be telecast via the American Forces Network to servicemen stationed at U.S. bases around the world.

DWTS Season 21 Finale – Grove Crowd Reaction Videos!

The one of Bindi and Derek being announced as winners is….telling, IMO.

Here’s the reaction to Alek getting third place. You can see a bit of Bindi and Derek with Nick and Sharna in this one.

This is Nick singing during dress rehearsal. Dude can actually sing and I love the song – kinda amazing, actual singing, in this day and age. 😉

This is interesting – during dress rehearsal, they called Bindi in third and Alek won. 🙂 Wonder if that’s how they do dress every year. I also wonder if this is how Derek reads his tea leaves.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
