PureDWTS Season 21, Week 6 – “Iconic Dance Week” Predictions
So I think we had some pretty good discussion, both here and on Twitter, about what dances from music videos, movies, and stage that we each think are “iconic” – so why not do a prediction post? 🙂
I’ve included what we know so far (check out Heidi’s “Who’s Dancing What” for more details); songs that have gotten used in the past that might crop up again (because we all know they love reusing songs); songs that could crop up again, but probably won’t because they were used so recently; and songs that I, Court, would love to see used 🙂
Songs we know so far:
Bindi: “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes, from Dirty Dancing – used twice as a pro dance, and also as Kelly’s all-stars freestyle in season 15
Carlos: “Pony” by Ginuwine, from Magic Mike
Alek: “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis, from Jailhouse Rock – Lil Kim’s jive in season 8, Tommy’s jive in season 19
Songs that could get reused:
“Old Time Rock ‘N’ Roll” by Bob Seger, from Risky Business – used as Jake’s cha-cha in season 10
“You Never Can Tell” by Chuck Berry, from Pulp Fiction – used as Apolo’s jive in season 4 and Erin’s jive in season 10
“Cell Block Tango” from Chicago – was Stacy’s tango in season 2, Bristol’s freestyle in season 11
“Thriller” by Michael Jackson – was Drew’s paso doble in season 2, also done by the pros as part of the Michael Jackson tribute
“Beat It” by Michael Jackson – Cristian’s tango in season 6
“You Should Be Dancing” by the Bee Gees, from Saturday Night Fever – Joey’s cha-cha in season 4, Sabrina’s disco in season 15
“You’re the One That I Want” from Grease – Brooke’s freestyle in season 7, James’ quickstep in season 18
“Greased Lightening” from Grease – Apolo’s jive trio in season 15
“We Go Together” from Grease – David’s quickstep in season 13

Court wishes:
“Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin, from Michael – ok, maybe a little bit more of an obscure dance scene, but I’d love to see Andy (or even Nick) dance around with a bunch of women following him.
“Canned Heat” by Jamiroquai, from Napoleon Dynamite – was Candace’s freestyle, but I’d love to see one of the guys with a sense of humor (maybe Hayes?) pay homage to this one!
