PureDWTS Season 21 Half Way Questionnaire: Grade The Season, Your Three Favorite Dances So Far
Good Day, Everyone!! So, we’re wondering on how you are feeling about the dances so far on Dancing With The Stars Season 21. Question: If you were to pick your THREE favorite dances so far (and put them in order), which dances would they be? You can also name a few runners-up if you like. Also, if you were to grade the season so far, what would you give it?
Here are my three favorite dances so far:
1. Derek and Alexa’s Tango to “Pompeii” by Bastille
2. Derek and Bindi’s Contemporary dance to “Every Breathe You Take” by Aaron Krause f. Liza Anne
3. Nick and Sharna’s Waltz to “Did I Make The Most Of Loving You”
Runners Up: Mark and Alexa’s “Breaking Bad” Jazz, Andy and Sharna’s Tango from Week 5 to “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd
Grade for the season so far:
Last season, I gave the show a “C” at this time and it didn’t change at the end for all the manipulating that went on. I was disappointed. This season so far, I give the show…..drum rolls please….an “A”. I’m happy with the content and dances. So far, there isn’t as much manipulation as last season (let’s hope that continues). My only wish is for more Pro Numbers/Macy’s Stars Of Dance (with Derek Hough at the helm of them) and I may end up giving this season an A+ at the end. We will see?
Now it’s your turn. Let us know how you are feeling in comments.
My three favorites this season are:
1. Alexa and Derek’s Tango
2. Alexa and Mark’s rumba – way underscored on that one.
3. Andy and Sharna’s AT – deserved at least one 10.
Runner’s up:
1. Bindi and Derek’s contemporay
2. Nick and Sharna’s Downton Abbey waltz
This season I would give the show a B+. Last season I loved some of the dances, but hated all the manipulation that went on. For me last season was a C-.
I rate my favorite dances by how many times I re-watch them on You Tube, so:
1. Nick and Sharna’s Everybody Jazz
2. Bindi and Derek’s Every Breath You Take Contemporary
3. It’s an odd choice, but I’m an odd girl, Paula and Mark’s Milkman Jive
Honorary mention to Lindsay and Alek’s True Blood Tango and Andy and Sharna’s sizzling hot Argentine Tango.
Bindi and Derek’s contemporary
Alek and Lindsay’s jazz
Alexa and Derek’s tango
My favorite dances this season:
Bindi and Derek’s contemporary
Andy and sharna’s dance
Paula and Marks dance because it was so funny and epic
1. Alexa and Derek’s Tango
2. Alek and Lindsay’s Jazz
3. Bindi and Derek’s Every Breath You Take Contemporary
Honorable mention: Alek and Emma’s Rumba (just for the all the feels), Nick and Sharna’s Downton Abbey waltz
So far the season for me is a B+… I’m curious to see the elimination this week. If Paula stays, she will be the Michael Waltrip of this season for me. Last season at this point was probably at a B- for me
My 3 favourite dances this season are:
1. Alexa/Derek’s Tango
2. Bindi/Derek’s Contemporary
3. Alexa/Mark’s “Breaking Bad” Jazz
Honourable Mention: Bindi/Derek’s Jive (it’s just so fun!), Alek/Lindsay’s Jazz
This is the first season I’ve really been watching (although I watched A TON of DTWS stuff on youtube over the summer) so I’m not going to give the season a grade since I have nothing to compare it to, but I will say that I’m very much enjoying this season.
My top 3 dances so far:
1) Bindi & Derek’s Contemporary
2) Alexa & Derek’s Tango
3) Alek & Lindsay’s Tango
Honorable mentions: Bindi’s Jive, Hayes’ Contemporary, Alek’s Foxtrot & Nick’s Jazz.
I’ll give the show a B+ so far. I agree there doesn’t seem to be much manipulation this season, but I gave it that grade mainly because of the judges. I miss Len terribly and the judging has been wonky and all over the place so far.
Really like these questions. It’s helping me get a better handle on why I’m feeling so darned chuffed (stoked) about (and actually looking forward to Mondays) season 21. 🙂
My fave dances thus far (based a bit on number of repeat viewings):
1 Alexa and Derek week 5 Pasoroble (credit to CAI), I mean Tango: WOW! If it is even possible, Derek went higher still in my estimation. His combination of interpersonal skills and talent are as rare as a Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat. The staging, movement quality and uniqueness, and overall dramatic effect were brilliant! And Derek’s understanding of how to help his partners achieve their best was on full display in the result. Kudos to both of them!
2. Hayes and Emma week 4 contemporary. Quality of movement and synchronicity that were really impressive. It was emotive, beautifully presented and almost made me feel like I was watching a pair dancing on SYTYCD. Always loved Emma, but it lifted Hayes way up in my estimation. Bottom line: simply captivating!
3. Carlos and Lindsay week 5 quickstep. I’m seriously biased when it comes to Lindsay, but this was just so energetic, BIG fun and engaging. It also made me seriously wonder just what the ‘miracle worker’ (Witney says thanks Erin) could have done in harnessing, maturing and directing Carlos’ obvious abilities. She even lifted Carlos’ likability up in my eyes to boot. That woman is a marvel. Just love her endearing and sweet nature.
On the season as a whole: I have to admit the first weeks with the 1 minute routines and their feeling of ending somewhat abruptly had been putting me off. I am very glad that they didn’t put me off too much though because, as with Alexa Furiosa’s Tango army victory (Bruno, you are…fill in the blank), the tide turned for the good. And majorly good at times. Grade C to B- for the 1st 3 weeks and a solid A the past 2 weeks. Really looking forward to this coming Monday. WooHoo!
Thanks for the opportunity to express my thoughts.
My 3 favorite dances so far:
1 Bindi Derek -Contemporary
2 Alexa Derek -Tango
3 Nick Sharna -Jazz
Honorable Mention: Tamar Val -Charleston, Bindi Derek -Jive, Nick Sharna -Waltz.
I give this season a D. Mediocre dancing and no ringer. Every season there should be atleast 2-3 ringers to make the show entertaining.
Last season was a B+ for me. thanks to the ringers like Riker, Rumer, Nastia and their great routines.
Favourite *five* dances of the season so far:
1. Alek and Linds’ Foxtrot
2. Alexa and Derek’s Tango
3. Tamar and Val’s Charleston
4. Hayes and Emma’s Contemporary
5. Bindi and Derek’s Jive
Alek has my favourite first dance of the season, similar to Willow and Sadie’s Cha-chas on their respective seasons. Alexa’s Tango was something I didn’t expect – I expected she’d be good with Derek, and she turned out to be OUTSTANDING. Tamar’s Charleston and Hayes’ Contemporary were impressive as well, and although I love her Contemporary, I love Bindi’s Jive more.
The season? For starters I LOVE that there are no clear front-runners this series. No Carlton, no Olympic ice fucking dancers, and nobody was told “THIS COULD BE YOUR SEASON, [PRO]!”. Alek has the highest match of attractiveness and likability factors since James Maslow, Hayes turned out to be pretty sweet and thank God they greatly reduced the married couple-thingy now. I like that the judging panel is back to three now, and I enjoy the partnerships so far. And thank God for no more Burlesque.
I don’t love the need of bringing back freaking guest judges. Seriously, I was enjoying three rounds of judging without a fourth judge and now it looks like we’re back to having scores on the scale of 40. I hate that the announcer is still absent, and the earlier dances are still a mere 60 seconds long. I can’t stand the troupe used on the regular dances, and the switch-up pairings are icky af. I hate Allison’s choreography on a weekly basis and I wish Peta is here now.
Grade: B- (but still better than last season, and between this, last season’s massive pimpage and season 19 being messy all over, this is still my favourite post-S18 season so far)
My favorites are:
Alexa and Derek – Tango
Bindi and Derek – Contemporary
Alexa and Mark – Breaking Bad
I also loved Hayes & Emma contemporary and Carlos & Lindsay quickstep. Lindsay has been a pleasant surprise as a pro this season and I hope this is rewarded with a spot next year. Obviously her time spent watching/learning in the troupe paid off and maybe some others this would be a benefit to (Keo).
I am enjoying this season, as so far there are no “in your face” manipulations that I have noticed so I rate this show a B. I’m thinking the judges scores/comments are kind of wonky most times and not enough critiques to help the celebs and their pros.
Looking forward to next week.
My top 3 dances of the season so far are:
1. Alexa & Mark’s Jazz
2. Tamar & Val’s Rumba
3. Bindi & Val’s Cha Cha
Honorable mentions:
Bindi & Derek’s Jive
Alexa & Derek’s Tango
Alexa & Mark’s Salsa
Nick & Sharna’s Waltz
Andy & Sharna’a Argentine Tango
Paula & Mark’s Jive
Hayes & Emma’s Contemporary
Alek & Lindsay’s Tango
Idk what I’d grade this season yet but I’m inclined to say somewhre between B+ to A as of now.
This should be fun!
My rankings:
1. Bindi and Dereks’ contemporary
2. Nick and Sharna’s Jazz
3. Alexa and Derek’s Tango
Honorable Mentions: Nick and Sharna’s Waltz, Carlos and Lindsay’s Quickstep
Grade for the season: So far, I’d give it a B+. Not much manipulation is going on and the dances have been really good so far. The only thing I don’t like is the inconsistency from the judges (I’m looking at you CAI).
Thanks for this fun questionnaire.
1) True Blood Tango
2) Breaking Bad Routine
3) Mark’s Milk #
Rating B
Favorites are Lindsay and Alek Tango (loved it), Val and Bindi cha cha, and Derek and Alexa tango. Truly don’t enjoy Tamar and Nick but have liked all the other celebs when they danced for their trying their best.
1. Nick & Sharna’s Viennese Waltz
2. Bindi & Derek’s Contemporary
3. Nick & Sharna’s Jazz
Honorable Mentions: Tamar & Val’s Charleston, Carlos & Lindsay’s Quickstep
Current Grade for the Season: B
My three favs are Derek and bindis contemporary, Carlos and witney’s quickstep, and nick and sharnas Jazz.
I’m sorry but I’m going to give more than 3.
1. Alexa’s Tango
2. Bindi’s Contemporary
3. Alek’s Foxtrot
4. Bindi’s Jive
5. Alexa’s Rumba
6. Hayes’ Contemporay
7. Andy’s AT
8. Carlos’ Quickstep
9. Nick’s Foxtrot
10. Tamar’s Rumba
11. Hayes’ Quickstep
My Favorites:
1. Bindi & Derek Contemporary
2. Alexa & Derek Tango
3. Carlos & Lindsay Quickstep
My Runner Up- Hayes & Emma Contemporary.
I had a hard time placing 2, 3, and my runner up in any order. Bindi’s contemporary is a front runner for me. The rest could have fallen in any order. I’ve really only gone back and watched these 4. I guess I also rewatched Bindi & Derek’s Crocodile Rock Jive too.
Overall, I would give this season a B+. I really don’t NOT like anybody on this season. I think there is a nice “anybody could win” suspense. Well, I think there are a couple front runners for the win, but I honestly don’t know who will be in the finals at this point. And I think that the manipulation isn’t coming on very strong this season. I’d say I’m pretty happy this season.
1. Bindi & Val’s Cha-Cha-Cha
2. Bindi & Derek’s Tango
3. Carlos & Witney’s Foxtrot
1) sharna nick V.waltz
2) Tamar Val Rumba
3) bindi Derek contemporary
A close 4 &5 are mark & Paula milk + bindi & Val cha cha
Note, last season was one of my favourite cause they were no clear front runner they even said at the finale “Each of the finalists were leading the voting polls one week or another” that’s impressive & they were some clear standout *cough cough Noah cough* so that’s that,
1. Alek and Linds Foxtrot
2. Carlos and Linds QS
3. Tamar and Val Rumba
Runners up: Bindis Jive & chacha, Alexa’S Tango, Alek Tango and Jazz, Nick’s V.watlz and foxtrot, Andy’s AT
1. Derek and Alexa’s Tango
2. Derek and Bindi’s Contemporary
3. Hayes & Emma’s Contemporary
Runners Up: Nick & Sharna’s Waltz; Carlos & Lindsay’s Quickstep; Alek & Lindsay’s Foxtrot; Bindi & Derek’s Jive
B – Love that there is not one clear front-runner, and the manipulation has been at a minimum so far, let’s hope that holds through the second half of the season….it does tend to get worse as the season progresses though. Love the surprises of the season (who would have thought Bindi would be as good and lovable as she is, remember when half of us were groaning Derek got her before the season started?!?! And who would have thought we would like Alek and Hayes so much?!). I never would have thought I would like this cast as much as I do. After Paula goes, hopefully next week, each cut will be sad. Not loving the judges though, they are all over the place with scores and consistency. Is that really a surprise though?
Lindsey #21 I have to respectfully disagree with you about last season. It almost made me hate dancing with the stars. I don’t care what the judges said the last episode to try and save face but at least two of the judges repeatedly told Val it was his season to win. The blatant manipulation was worse than I have ever seen since I started watching in Season 2. I have some hope that this season will be different but last week it felt like perhaps the manipulation is beginning again. This is just my opinion. There are so many dances I have loved this season. Of course my favorite is Derek and Bindi’s Contemporary. I have watched that so many times and that is unusual for me. Then I loved Alexa and Derek’s Tango. That was incredible. My other ties for 3rd place are Mark and Paula. That routine with Mark as the southern Milkman was so good and so funny. I loved Bindi and Derek’s Jive. I like Hayes and Emma’s contemporary. And frankly, I have loved all of Lindsey and Alek’s dances as well. So much for choosing…lol!
Favorite dances:
1.Bindi and Derek’s contemporary. This is one of my all time favorite DWTS dances.
2. Alexa and Derek’s tango
3. Nick and Sharna’s cha cha
Honorable Mentions: Sharna and Andy’s AT, Mark and Alexa’s jazz and Val and Tamar’s Charleston.
I’ll give this season a B. I like the mix of celebrities and the theme nights have been fun. The judges are turning me off though.
My favorite dances:
1.) Nick & Sharna’s Jazz
2.) Val & Tamar’s Charleston
3.) Derek & Bindi’s Contemporary
4.) Alek & Emma’s Rumba
5.) Carlos & Lindsay QS
I’m really enjoying the season as there are many compelling dancers. I give the season a B+
Okay, the #1 spot was so hard for me to choose, because I have two dances that I love equally, but are completely opposite in style and emotion. However, since I am totally addicted to one of them and can’t stop watching it over and over, (holy smoke, this dance is awesome!!) I’m putting it at the top….
1. Alexa/Derek – Tango
2. Bindi/Derek – Contemporary
3. Bindi/Derek – Jive
Runner-Ups are: Alek/Lindsay – Foxtrot & Hayes/Emma – Contemporary
I have enjoyed this season of DWTS more than any season since Season 16, which was my favorite one. There are so many interesting and personable personalities on the show and I think we have had some really good dancing overall. There’s also been the absence of any blatant manipulation or manufactured showmances. I would definitely give this season an A.
Thanks Mods, this was fun!
Oops, I forgot to add any HMs to my top 3 in the original post #8 above. Oh well, just gives me an excuse for a second post without either one being TOO long. 🙂
Before I add my HMs, I want to add that I appreciate the point about there not being quite the dominant front runner as pointed out by #10 Daniel and #23 EPmusic. It’s made for a slightly more ‘I wonder who’ feel than some seasons. It’s actually nice to have a little more uncertainty in that regard, even with being as much of an Alek and Lindsay fan as I am.
Honorary spot #1: Bindi and Derek Week 4 Contemporary. As I mentioned in my previous post, my rankings were based a bit on repeat viewings. This one didn’t get very many of those. And not because it didn’t well and truly deserve them, but because I couldn’t keep from turning into a big glop of Kleenex and fluidy stuff emanating from my facial region when trying. Darn it Ms. Irwin and Mr. Hough, but your extraordinary and heart moving pefectness caused me to have to be the exception rather than the rule in leaving you to an honorary position just outside of the top 3.
Honorary spot #2: Andy and Sharna Week 5 AT. Mad respect to Sharna and her ways — super creative and so, so gifted. And Andy really showed that he’s got something inside him that just needed to find a way to be squeezed out. Sharna found that way when he smelt it and delt it very successfully on the dance floor Monday night. Farts and Balls = results! Who knew?! Unfortunately, that potential he found with Sharna may not get a chance to be further nurtured and let to come forth without her. Another case, like Alek and Emma, Alexa and Derek, and Carlos and Lindsay, of what might have been. I have a feeling that Sharna would have had a more enjoyable experience with Andy smelling farts and shifting balls the next 5 weeks as well. I would have watching.
Honorary spot #3: Alek and Lindsay week 2 Jazz. Mostly lifts, yes, but mostly uplifting, too! I was just grinning from ear to shining ear after that All-American — before the actual All-American — home spun, warm and fuzzy, feel oh-so-good dance. Hmm, why do I suddenly feel this deep desire to move to a farm in Anywhere Homey USA and lift a girl named Lindsay in a presage?
And just as an aside. Alek, Specialist America (not quite the same ring as ’Captain’ but a for real deal), and Lindsay have gotten every vote I’ve cast thus far.
And that’s all he wrote. Good night, John-Boy,
LOL Christian W! I love The Waltons!
#29 Voguerista The Waltons = L.O.V.E in my world! Thank you Internet streaming. 🙂
I’m 25 years old and LOVE The Waltons! I would love for someone to dance a Viennese Waltz to it in the future…
Top dances:
Alek & Lindsay-Jazz
Hayes & Emma-Contemporary
Alexa & Derek-Tango
Bindi & Derek-Contemporary
Paula & Louis-Rumba
I think i’ll grade this season a B+
Thanks for playing everyone. I’m loving your answers.
And Trent, I’m game for that Walton’s V. Waltz!
Christian W, what you said about turning into Kleenex when watching Derek and Bindi’s Contemporary dance, nailed it for me. Their dance is exquisite, a work of art, an absolute masterpiece, BUT I can’t watch it very much, because it’s just so emotionally draining. By the way, I’m with you and Vogue, and Trent, I love The Waltons too! : D
My personal favorites so far:
1.) alek and emmas rumba-love the emotion even though it’s not the best technically and for me the song is super important
2.) Nick and sharna-did I make the most if loving you
3.) bindi and Derek contemporary TIE alek and Lindsay foxtrot.
I would give it a B or B-plus. I think the judges either gotta go or have to get switched up a bit, but that’s not going to happen I feel.
#31 Trent A VW set to that would be rather sublime, and would really take me to a very happy place. This is just one of the reasons why I appreciate reading what others bring to the dance table/floor. Nice. And a Walton’s fan to boot. Bonus!
#33 Kenya Smith I’m glad to know that Bindi and Derek’s contemporary routine was/is as hard to watch for you as it is for me. It feels a little bit contradictory to really enjoy something so much, but you can’t bring yourself to watch it again. Arg! I guess I‘m just going to have to stock up on Kleenex and prepare to irrigate those tear ducts, because it‘s gotta be done. Bindi and Derek, “I‘ll be watching you“ again. And we have a trifecta + me of Walton fans here. Hooray! Just keep the Kleenex handy as some of those Walton episodes tend to tug a bit a the ol’ heart strings, too, as you know. 🙂
While I’m here, I just have to add another honorable mention routine. It’s not necessarily owing to having great choreography or outstanding dance quality, but more for its theme and look. And that routine would be the first appearance of that most unique and breath taking of all dancing creatures know to human kind, the Pantera Alexa (thanks for that one, too, Bruno)! AKA Alexa and Mark’s week 2 Salsa. Sorry, but that was just an exceptional job of wardrobe, hair and makeup that happened there.
Sigh. I hang my head in shame…sorta. :o)
No clear front runner last season?? I must have been watching a different show. The crap they pulled on Nastia and the pimpage of Rumer were pretty much over the top. The degree of manipulation made Rumer into a front runner, along with her parents in the audience every week.
To be fair PH, TPTB never made their intentions clear until trio week. After declaring it was Val’s season week one, things died down a bit. Then in the couple of weeks leading up to trio week we were all wondering on here whether Rumer would be a shock elimination and have enough votes to survive after getting low scores in week six or seven. It was that trio week (eight I think) just before the double elimination where Rumer got the two perfect scores (along with the encore) and that shocking Nastia package was shown when it became obvious what was happening from then on.
That’s one of the reasons why I don’t really worry about couples like Nick or Alek getting bad scores at this stage of the competition. As long as their are dancers like Paula still in the game and you have a healthy fanbase, you can afford to get bad scores midway through the competition. When it gets to week 8-9 then we’ll really start to see via the perfect scores and packages etc, who TPTB want to push for the win.
“We all”?? No, not “we all” were not wondering that about Rumer. I think the writing was on the wall pretty early.
In no order – nick and sharna v waltz, tamar and val charleston, bindi and derek contemporary, lindsay and alek foxtrot, lindsay and carlos quickstep
Considering we’ve only just had week 5, I think it is really hard to find only 3 dances – there’s been some amazing numbers for so early in the season: which is why i think it’s such a fabulous season and my favourite for quite a while.
My favourites:
(1) Alexa and Derek’s Tango – such an amazing dance and I love the package too – it’s hard to believe how much a positive attitude can turn around in a week.
(2) Bindi and Derek’s Contemporary – raw and powerful. A truly beautiful and heartfelt dance – dance therapy if you will. Simply stunning if slightly overwhelming to watch with the genuine emotions shown.
(3) Hayes and Emma’s Contemporary – one of the reasons I love DWTS is watching the celebs embrace the experience and realise that dance is a new tool in their arsenal. Watching Hayes in this dance and his joy was fantastic. Not a natural or experienced performer and yet a fabulous dance.
HM – Andy and Sharna’s AT – thought that this was his best dance by far and I love these two more than with their original partners. This was smouldering and like with Hayes – a pleasure to see his joy.
Alek’s dances – again he exemplifies the experience for me – embracing and enjoying the experience of dance.
Christian, Kenya, Vogue…I wasn’t really a big fan of John-Boy, but Ben and Erin were my favorite of the kids…I don’t know exactly if any of the children are still in the entertainment business, but I would love to see Michael Learned (Olivia) do DWTS. Or even the actress who played Mary Ellen.
That would be awesome. I’d love that too, Trent.
And remember the second John Boy? I loved him too. lol
Trent, for me, John Boy was the show! I had a huge crush on him and dreamed of having a sweet, sensitive, and blonde-haired boy like him of my own! Apparently, I’ve got a thing for guys with blonde hair, because I also loved John Denver and David Soul (from Starsky and Hutch) and now with Derek, I do have my sweet, sensitive, and blond haired boy! 😉
1) Derek and Bindi’s Contemporary – the dance told a story, made me cry like a baby
2) Andy and Sharna’s Argentine Tango – Hot hot hot! I love a good AT.
3) Nick and Sharna’s Viennese Waltz – it was like watching a scene in a movie. Gorgeous!
HMs: Derek and Alexa’s Tango, Alek and Lindsay’s Tango, Nick and Sharna’s Cha Cha.
This season is a B+ for me. It’s been good so far. I like that I don’t see the manipulation yet. But some of the celebs are so meh for me. I’m guessing that score will improve though towards the end once the teams/trios/challenges start.
#41 Trent I saw on imdb.com that both Michael and Judy Norton (Mary Ellen) are still professionally active. Seeing either Michael or Judy dance that VW would be sweet, but I think Judy would better be able to handle the rigors of the show. Even Judy is getting up there. As TV mothers go, though, you sure couldn’t do too much netter than Olivia Walton.
#42 Voguerista Robert Wrightman, J-B II, had a tough gig to fill when he stepped in for Richard. I have to admit I never quite cottoned to him in the same way, but he did do an admirable job. I would never envy any actor asked to walk into such an established role like that.
#43 Kenya Smith Ooh, now they really better keep Derek around or there’s going to be a serious dearth of blond male pros. So, Mark, ever think about dying your hair blond, buddy? You know fans come first! :o)
And I rewatched the Bindi and Derek contemporary again, and it didn’t get any less emosh for me. It’s irresistible and heart wrenching in equal measure. My advice to anyone reading this, share the video lots, and buy stock in paper products lots. Lots? Oh, that reminds me, I think I have a 25% off coupon at Big….
Christian W, it takes more than blonde hair and Derek has it all. 😉
My grade? B+ because there’s been several lifts in dances performed by other couples (Val I’m lookin at you) and the self-imposed lift police AKA Carrie-Ann Inaba, conveniently overlooked all of them EXCEPT for Derek and Bindi’s in Wk 2 :/ Overscoring of the PenaVegas for some reason to keep them in the competition….I don’t hear much buzz about them on social media
Fave Dances:
1.Bindi and Derek’s Contemporary
2.Bindi and Derek’s Week 1 Jive
3.Alexa and Derek’s Tango
#1 Derek and Bindi – Contemporary
#2 Derek and Alexa – Tango
#3 Lindsay and Alek – Jazz
Season grade – B
My faves:
Alexa and Derek’s tango: everything about that dance was amazing! Costuming, production, song, choreo, execution was perfection. Watched it several times.
Bindi and Derek’s contemporary: the backstory made every move meaningful and emotional.
Andy and Sharna’s Argentine tango: Andy was shouldering and sexy and had amazing chemistry with Sharna. Awesome choreo.
Alek’s every dance. Voted for him every week. There something about him that draws me in and I end up liking everything he does. The rumba with Emma was a little awkward for me because it was a real life crush so he kept smiling instead of smouldering and Emma looked like she was holding back to be professional. The dancing could’ve been better but it was super cute.
Anyway, John-Boy has been playing the FBI (or CIA) chief on The Americans with Keri Russell playing a Russian undercover spy in the USA. Missed most of last season so not sure if he got killed off or not.
Alek, has got so many positive qualities that make him likeable and relatable (Val, meet your new role model): He’s humble, obviously courageous, has a strong work ethic, possesses compassion, has some skills on the floor (great job, Lindsay), and blushes like a champ (thanks, Emma). Julianne pointed out on the first night after his very surprisingly well danced Foxtrot, he was representing everyone in America that would like to be there. That’s how I feel. Keep representing, brother, right to the finals!
