DWTS Search Engine Round-Up – Week of June 24, 2011

Sorry this is kinda late, kids – I’ve been caught up with end-of-quarter stuff at work, and have been spending more time at the office than I have at home, I’m afraid.  But things ought to let up a bit after next week, so look forward to some more fun posts headed your way 😉 I gotta admit – it’s getting harder and harder to write this each week, because we’re currently in the summer doldrums between seasons where we’re not getting as many hits as we do when the show is in-season…and fewer hits usually means fewer unique terms getting searched.  So just a warning – this may become a bi-weekly feature in the future, if I can’t get enough good material for it.

Season 12 ratings

A quick search of “ratings” in the search bar will pull up all of the ratings posts, but here’s a link to the last one of the season.  Vogue posts them each week during the season, just so we can see how DWTS is stacking up against all the other shows.  They’re almost always in the top 5, but it is kinda cool to see how certain events on the show (say, “American Night” or the winner-take-all cha-cha) can affect the ratings for a particular week.

Kyle Petty recent photos

Erm, I’d say his website would probably be the best source for that.  I was stumped as to how some of you ended up here looking for pictures of Kyle, until I did a search and realized Shawn Johnson rode along with Kyle for a few laps at the Coca-Cola 600 back in May of ’09 after winning DWTS.  I wouldn’t mind Kyle doing the show – we haven’t had anyone from the racing world since Helio, and Kyle would be the first Nascar representative to do the show.  What do you guys think?

What were Maks & Cheryl paid for dancing at the Southwest Airlines 40th Anniversary party?

A bajillion, fafillion, sho0-bad-ooh-wopillion dollars. *pinky to corner of mouth like Dr. Evil* Honestly, I don’t know…none of us know, with the exception of Maks, Cheryl, the folks at Southwest accounts payable, and the IRS. I’m sure it was a pretty penny…most well-known ballroom pros can command several grand for private exhibition performance.  DWTS pros can probably command even more.  I’m guessing at least $15K each.

So You Think You Can Dance songs list 2011

Head on over to Pure SYTYCD for that…if you are still watching the show after the sham that was Iveta’s elimination the other night. It’s safe to say I’m pretty salty about it – it’s only week 2 and already the sole ballroom dancer this season is gone, along with the only true tapper.  I know a lot of us were talking about it on Twitter, and the topic came up of Iveta doing DWTS.  While I love Iveta, I don’t wanna see it happen – she’s just so damn good, and I almost feel like doing the show would be a waste of her talent.  Then again, maybe her talent would be better appreciated on DWTS than it was on SYTYCD.  I’m beginning to think they’re intimidated by ballroom dancers over there…

Mark Ballas gay

Hehe.  *shaking head* Sorry, couldn’t resist that one.  I’m guessing this musing sprung from the interview Mark did where he said he wouldn’t mind having a same-sex partnership, and the subsequent discussion we had about the implications of said statement.  If he is indeed gay, he’s doing a pretty damn good job of concealing it, considering the bevy of babes he’s been linked to since starting DWTS.  There was Sabrina…and Joanna Pacitti…and I think one of the Pussycat Dolls…and then there was Jeanine…and the Bristol rumors…and the Chelsie rumors…and then the other other Chelsea…which brings us to Pia, the current girl du jour.  If he is gay, he’s got a whole wardrobe of beards to chose from 🙂 Honestly, if nothing else, I think Mark’s stance on same-sex ballroom says less about his sexual orientation and more about his need for attention. You know that box on facebook that says “interested in” and you choose “men”, “women” or “both”? They’d need to add one for Mark – “attention of any sort”. 😀

Back in town jive song

I think you’re referring to “The Boys are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy, the song that Mike & Lacey jived to.

Bristol Palin book

I’d personally rather use it as a doorstop than summer reading material, but there’s a few excerpts from it in a post Vogue did earlier this week.  Overall, it just sounds like a bitter, sensationalized attempt to prolong her 15 minutes of fame a bit more – she takes some cheap shots at her fellow contestants and her baby daddy, and seems hellbent on reminding us about the “hefty check” she got for doing DWTS.  I don’t think I’ve ever heard another celeb talk about the money they made on DWTS as much as Bristol.  And Bristol, honey, no matter how easy or irresistable it might be – don’t Hassle the Hoff.  You may just get yourself labeled persona non grata in Germany…and what would that do for your political aspirations? Tsk, tsk.

Derek Hough little toe

*facepalm* No comment…

HEY! If you haven’t voted in the End-of-Season Awards yet, do so quickly – voting ends soon!!!

Hines Ward Thanks The Judges On Dancing With The Stars

Isn’t this cool? Hines Ward recently thanked the judges on Dancing with The Stars by giving them Crown Royal XR’s. Not only that, he had the bags personally engraved with “Thank you for all of your encouragement and constructive criticism. You made me a dancer. ~Hines” Hines is a huge fan of the whiskey and this isn’t the first time he have it as a gift. He gave the entire Steelers team a bottle of Crown Royal XR after the Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII against the Cardinals as well. Always a class act that one!! Pure DWTS – Dancing With The Stars And Tom Bergeron Nominated In The 2011 Critics Choice Awards

The UPI is reporting Dancing With The Stars has been nominated for “Best Reality Series” in the 2011 Critics Choice Awards? What’s more, host favorite (and Heidi’s future husband. 😉 ), Tom Bergeron has been nominated for “Best Reality Show Host”. Below are the nominations in each catagory. To view the rest of the nominations and catagories for your other favorite shows, be sure to see the link. Special Note: ABC was the most nominated broadcast network with 16 nominations, followed by NBC with 12.

The contenders in the Best Reality Series — Competition category are CBS’ “The Amazing Race,” Fox’s “American Idol,” ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Lifetime’s “Project Runway,” Logo’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and Bravo’s “Top Chef.”

The nominees for Best Reality Show Host are Tom Bergeron for “Dancing with the Stars,” Cat Deeley for “So You Think You Can Dance,” Ty Pennington for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Mike Rowe for “Dirty Jobs” and Ryan Seacrest for “American Idol.”

The prizes for The Critics Choice Awards will be presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, a new offshoot of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, at a luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel June 20th. The ceremony will be broadcasted on REELZCHANNEL June 22.

Do you think our show can win? How about Tom? I sure think so. Ryan Seacrest will probably be Tom’s biggest competition and I like Ryan loads. But, I have to say Tom has left me busting a gut with every show. So, I’d have to choose Tom!!

DWTS 12 – Maksim Chmerkovkiy & Kirstie Alley Dance Again At The “All The Right Moves Summer Invitational”

What a night it was for Dance With Me Studios in New York City for the “All The Right Moves Summer Invitational”. According to Maks and Kirstie’s twitter accounts, great fun was had by all and it was a huge success. So successful, Maks is now hinting of a dancing tour in the future. Wouldn’t that be cool? I’d pay whatever they want for front row seats.

ET On-line was also there to cover lastnight’s event. Below Maks explains his dance studios and how there are plans to open them up all across the country. It’s important to get everyone ‘shaking and moving’ and dancing is good for the “health and the soul and everything in between”. Kirstie speaks about dancing as well. They performed an encore (without rehearsing) of their high-scoring Cha-Cha from Dancing With The Stars to Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You.” Forget You - Single - Cee Lo Green Tribute

Thanks to Pure DWTS reader mzetting, here is Maks and Kirstie’s performance in full. The two are so cute as always! Their chemistry is out of this world. Look at Maks’ smile!;

Adding: Thanks to another PureDWTS reader Kristin, you can see all the other dances HERE. She has fun pics of the night at her facebook page as well.

Below is an interview with Tony from Extra. Not only do they talk about the show last night, Kirstie speaks of her upcoming TV Show and a new movie “Syrup” with Robert Dinero. Maks comments he will never do The Bachelor again.

The opening picture is from the Daily Mail (Yes, this news even hit the UK! And WOW to Kirstie! Doesn’t she look fantastic?!). More Red Carpet pictures of Maks, Kirstie, Tony Dovolani (Maks’ partner in the Dance with Me Studios chain), Val Chmerkovskiy, Daria Chesnokova, Nicole and Teddy Volynets >>>>HERE.

Dancing With The Stars 2011 – Teri Hatcher Learns Dance Moves From Cheryl Burke

Have You Heard has a great spread up on the Simon G Jewelry ‘Summer Soriee’ at the Palazzo in Las Vegas Saturday night. At the event benefiting “Generosity Water”, Teri Hatcher struck up some dance moves with Cheryl Burke which has them asking if Dancing With The Stars is in Teri’s future. I’d definitely support the idea. Teri can dance too as we’ve seen on Desperte Housewives at special times. See lots of cool pictures at the link some of which include former Dancing With The Stars celebrity Lisa Rinna (one of Louis’s best dance partner’s in my opinion). Stephani Pratt danced with Cheryl too. She’d be a good contender for the show as well.

Teri Hatcher was spotted learning some dance moves from DWTS professional dancer, Cheryl Burke while attending the Simon G Jewelry ‘Summer Soriee’ benefiting Generosity Water held at the Palazzo in Las Vegas on Saturday night, June 4, 2011.

Hatcher looked beautiful in a white sequined Marc Bouwer number accessorized with Simon G Jewels, saying she felt like Cinderella.

Stylish guests at the bash included America Ferrera and new fiancée Ryan Piers William, a pregnant Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott, Teri Hatcher, Jaime King and husband, Cheryl Burke, Lisa Rinna, Stephanie Pratt and Raven Symone among many others.

Do you think Cheryl was trying to convince Teri to give DWTS a try?

We know Teri has some fancy moves – she did some exotic dancing on Desperate Housewives. I think it would be great to see her on Dancing With the Stars. What do you think??

Pure DWTS 2011 – Mark Ballas’ Hopeful Celebrity Contenders For Next Season & More

Mark Ballas talked with MTV Seven over the weekend about Dancing With The Stars. He sums up his journey with Chelsea saying this last Season was about “artistry”. He then talks of who he’d like to see on the show next Season. He mentions Jennifer Aniston and Jim Carrey as being his hopefuls. Mark also talks on his music and how he’d like to work with American Idol stars Casey Abrams and Pia Toscano in the future. Check it out and more below.

DWTS 2011 – The Dancing With The Stars Pro Dancers Party It Up & More In Las Vegas (Photos)

If you are a serious Dancing With The Stars fan and would love to visit Las Vegas, the time to do so might be after a Dancing With The Stars Season has ended? This past week, various news outlets from Las Vegas and the pros have been reporting on some of their fun in the sun and playing in the hotels and casinos. Such as….

Kym and Dmitry at the LAVO. Here the striking two are checking out a performance by Pharcyde Wednesday night. Dmitry was said to have danced to the sounds of DJ Crooked later in the night while Kym watched from a balcony.

Below is Maks celebrating at Encore Beach Club’s 1 year Anniversary by the pool side at the beginning of last week.

But, what a week of sun makes. HERE is Maks all tanned up for Wet Republic’s Hot Bodies Pool Party yesterday. Adding: Even more shots of Maks HERE! Way hot…I think I need a towel. 🙂

Maks also took part in the JCK Jewelry Convention while he was in the Entertainment Capital of the World. Check out the links in these tweets to see some of his new “MAKSIM” line which will be available soon on Amazon.

Mark Ballas paid Las Vegas a visit as well to promote his new album. Below he takes a little time out to celebrate his birthday again with friends at the Liquid Pool. Apparently, there were some great Dancing with the Stars theme moments such as a birthday cake that looked like a mirror ball trophy. ‘Happy Birthday Mark’ was written on the side.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Below are Peta and Karina partying at the Tao with Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan. Damian Whitewood was there as well who called them his “lifeguards”.

Later in the evening, Karina wore an equally sexy outfit to host a party at the Tao night club.

Lastly, here is Cheryl hanging out with Jack Ketsoyan at the Palazzo celebrating her birthday yesterday. She looks fantastic, doesn’t she? This picture will make my Dad’s day again.

What a fun time! Who wants to pay Las Vegas a visit after the Season 13 Finale is over? 🙂

Pure DWTS 12 – Karina Smirnoff Talks About Her Playboy Shoot, Her New Dance Studio, And More

Many of our dancing pros are currently in Las Vegas relaxing and having fun, giving to causes, helping with shows, performing in some of them, or doing some promotion for their personal adventures. Such is true for Karina Smirnoff who attended a beauty and spa convention promoting her Collection for Girlactik. Doug Elfman of The Las Vegas Review caught up with her for a little interview where they talk about Karina’s photo spread for the May issue of Playboy which she was glad to have the opportunity to do. Hugh Hefner says Karina’s Playboy spread will be one of the publication’s best of the year. Karina also discusses her new dance studio in California where she hopes to develop her “own Dancing With The Stars professionals” in the next few years. Here are a couple of takes from The Las Vegas Review.

As for her May layout in Playboy, she’s received a lot of positive response and praise for the “classy” and “artistic” shoot.

“I’m super-excited about it,” she said. It’s a “dream come true” to join the Playboy-cover-girl likes of Marilyn Monroe and Charlize Theron.

“After you do something like this, and years go by, you have an opportunity to look back and say, ‘That was me. I did that.’

“That’s really awesome.”

Smirnoff, in a playful mood, asked whether I would follow her lead and pose nude for photo shoots soon.

“No,” I said, “but I would do one every day if I were you.”

“Ha,” she said. “Well, maybe that’s something we could potentially work out.”

While in Vegas, a spa and beauty convention will feature her Karina Smirnoff Collection for Girlactik. She also has a Karina Smirnoff boot line through Bearpaw and a “Shape Up With Karina Smirnoff” fitness-dance DVD.

Soon, she’s auditioning kids of all ages at her dance studio in California.

“I want to develop my own ‘Dancing With the Stars’ professionals in a few years.”

Karina works hard. No doubt about it. If you are in Vegas, you can see Karina today (Saturday) at the Tao Beach and Tao Nightclub.

DWTS 12 – Kirstie Alley Wows Crowds In Boston!!

What I love about Kirstie Alley so much since being a fan and her doing Dancing With The Stars is how she personally relates to all walks of life where ever she goes whether she’s working, whether it’s out and about, or whether she’s at twitter, etc.. You don’t have to be rich and famous for her to reach out and such was the case when she created quite the “stir” at a train stop in Boston this week. She lit up the Ritz Carlton as well. Below is a take from the Boston Herald for what happened. You can see a new picture of Kirstie at the link as well with a lucky fan.

Kirstie, who appears to be hooked on ballroom dancing, created quite the stir amongst the star-struck in South Station, where she hopped off the Acela and was greeted by rounds of applause by “DWTS” fans.

“She looked great,” South Station concierge Kevin Greene told the Track. “She lost so much weight for the show. She was talking to people and posing for photos. She was really very nice.”

Alley spent most of her time in Boston holed up at the Ritz where, after dining with professional dancer Serge Onikan in Jer-Ne, she asked the staff set up a private dance studio for them in one of the ballrooms. Oh, really now???

“Hotel setting up dance floor just for me and my private dancer in the ballroom . . . it’s raining men hallelujah!” she tweeted the other day.

An accompanying Twitpic shows a rather fit — and younger — man with Alley, who is obviously wearing her dancing shoes. Hotel spokesman Steve Pellegrino said he had no idea why the TV star came to town. But we do know Alley and Serge will appear tomorrow night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC for Dance With Me Studios’ “All the Right Moves Summer Invitational.”

Stay tuned! We hope to have some coverage of Maks and Kirstie dancing from his studio today in New York City!

DWTS Season 12, The Finale – The Cheesecake Awards!!

Oy veh. One more for the season. WARNING! This one gets a tad…harsh. If you are overly sensitive in regard to some of the regulars on this show, look out. 🙂 You’ve been warned. I (Heidi) was feeling particularly evil when I wrote my parts.

Best Moment of the Finale: The Three Stooges reaction to Chelsea Kane getting 3rd place

Heidi: Ahhh…that was soooo sweet. Guess what, stooges, you don’t have all the power, no matter how hard you try. LOL. Want to see what we’re talking about? Keep your eye on the judges once the camera goes wide again. The body language is hilarious. Len and Carrie Ann are sitting, not clapping, in shock. Mwahahahaha….

Courtney: Both of them looked like they’d just seen the ghost of Michael Jackson or something.  Utter, total, and complete shock – followed by bitterness.  The Almighty Judges thwarted in their master plan??? Muahahahaha – you betcha.  Probably a good thing that Carrie Ann wasn’t clapping – her arm fat was jiggling like crazy earlier in the night when she was grooving in her chair to Black-Eyed Oh-bitch-please.

The Award for Being Almost TOO Cheesey to Bear: Tom Bergeron/Producers for that silly opening voiceover on the last night

Heidi: Is it just me or was that just way more over the top than normal?? I mean, this ain’t the Olympics, it’s DWTS (which I guess makes my complaint ironic…or redundant…or…pointless?) – but do we really need the dramatic talk about “their journey” to get to the finals??

Courtney: You’d think we were watching the pre-show for the Olympics or the Superbowl or even Idol – the sad backstory, the clawing their way to the top, the blood, sweat, toil, and tears, this has been their lifelong dream, yadda yadda yadda.  Way, WAAAYYYY over-the-top. Spare me.

The Karma Really Works Award: Len Goodman for “If they don’t like our scores, then vote for them!!”

Heidi: Fan-f@#ing-tastic. 🙂 That’s called having karma take a bite out yo ass. 🙂 We DID vote and it didn’t quite go the way you expected, did it? But this still does piss me off because that sure as hell didn’t work in week 9, did it. I fully expect to see the BonASS dance in the finale next season so they are more likely to get their way. Anyway, I think the producers were taking a poke at the judges, since when they aired this little gem they likely already knew that Chelsea took 3rd place. 🙂

Courtney: You may be onto something with the producers taking a swipe at the judges – perhaps they were trying to make them the scapegoat for the whole fiasco.  I can’t help but wonder if TPTB were catching so much flak for the WTA dance that they decided to shift the blame to the judges – making a point of having Len say that right before announcing Chelsea as 3rd place was a subtle way of saying “Blame the judges! They’re the ones that gave the scores!” Of course, I don’t think anyone in a position of authority on the show is blame-free for the shitshow that was season 12 – as I said on Twitter the other day, this season was one big series of unfortunate events that resulted from TPTB trying to atone for the sins of season 11…and failing miserably.  Viewers tend to fight back when they start monkeying around too much with the basic premise of the show – this is a prime example.

Award for Most Bizarre Dancing “tic”: Maks and walking

Heidi: He does this all the time and did it again in his freestyle with Kirstie. He has quite long sections of just walking across the dance floor. Don’t get me wrong, it really worked well in the mood of his freestyle, but often it’s just a time-wasting move that he uses too much – IMO, of course. They all have tics or signature moves – but those are MOVES. This is walking. I’m surprised he doesn’t get called on it more often. I’d call him on it. 🙂

Courtney: Yeah, I guess it’s kind of his “thing” – like Mark’s jimmy legs, Cheryl’s sheer-skirted ballgowns, or Lacey’s sometimes-pointless displays of flexibility.  I am a bit surprised that he doesn’t get called out on it more, but I guess he does walk with a sense of purpose in his step – I guess I can forgive it more easily than, say, spastic dancing or copied choreo.

The Award for the Best Use of NEW MATH: Brooke Burke/the Producers

Heidi: Most watched season ever?? Seriously?? TV Guide said it was up by double digits but compared to what?? And for the ENTIRE season and not just the finale? Doubtful. It’s possible I could be brain-dead, but ratings are one of those things I pay attention to and I thought it was down – and some weeks Nielsen reported it was down. Now, granted, I don’t look THAT closely, but damn, I think this is creative math at work here. They’re forcing me to do a post on ratings trends. 🙂 Maybe they meant to say “Most watched SPRING season ever.” That might work.

Courtney: I feel like the phrases “most watched season ever” and “closest competition ever” have become clichés in the great DWTS lexicon – they seem to toss ’em out every time the finale rolls around.  And lucky for them – most viewers don’t care enough to contest it.  But for us Scullys & Mulders who know “the truth is out there” – it’s endlessly annoying.  It’s taking liberties with the data – and that pisses us off.  We ain’t stoopid 🙂

Heidi: :::swoon::: Just call me Scully – I love me some Mulder. 🙂

The “Oh. I didn’t think about that” Award for Failure to Engage the Brain: Mark Ballas, for his freestyle choreography

Heidi: Dude, probably not a good idea to plan to have your partners hands and feet light up, necessitating wires running all up and down her body, AFTER you’ve spent 60 seconds tossing her around the dance floor. OF COURSE the batteries came un-plugged and the battery pack got dislodged (incidentally, affecting her performance – not that it mattered to the stooges). Battery packs with wires + highly tricky dancing = OOPS

Courtney: That was a dumb move on his part, but so was picking a freestyle song/theme that did nothing to showcase his partner’s skills or even allow her to connect to the music.  I’ve said it before, but I’ll go ahead and say it again: I don’t feel like I was watching a performance of their freestyle; it was just a regurgitation, if you will.  Unlike Kirstie & Hines, who I felt both really “connected” to their routines on a personal level, this did not feel like something Chelsea would have chosen for herself – it said nothing about her.  This was music recycled from Mark’s heydey, with moves that show how great MARK is, not Chelsea. The poor girl was just trying to keep up the whole time.  The malfunctioning lights were just icing on the crappy cake.

Best Song Lyrics Written by a 5-Year Old: Black Eyed Peas Song they Debuted on the Finale

Heidi: So, Will.i.Am’s kid has begun writing song lyrics now?? Really, wasn’t that just one line chanted over and over again for three minutes?? This group continues it’s downward spiral into mediocrity.

Courtney: The Peas are gadawful, period.  I move that we relegate them to Yo Gabba Gabba! duty ASAP, cause their songs are serious gibberish.  Like, seriously – my cat makes more interesting noises when pooping in his litter box than the Black-Eyed Oh-bitch-please – no more! do in a song.  The person I feel most sorry for in this whole Pea-induced debacle is Hines – poor guy had to deal with him at the Superbowl AND the DWTS finale.  I bet he’s ready to slap that metal toupee off Will.i.am’s head and kick Fergie right in her London Bridge.  I’d make some funny comment about the other two, but seriously – who remembers their names? They will eternally be Asian Guy and Other Black Guy to me. That seems punishment enough for those poor souls. Hashtag, just sayin’.  😉

Heidi: Bwahahaha…London Bridge. Is that in her mouth or is it a euphemism for…never mind. 🙂 I like that one song “I Got A Feeling” but mainly because I have seen a home video of four of the five Hough siblings just jamming out to it with Derek leading the way. It takes a Hough…technically 7 of them since it was 4 sibs and 3 of their little girls.

Comedic Line ‘O the Night: ANYTHING by Mike Catherwood.

Heidi: Hilarious dude. The one that really made me giggle was when he called Tristan “Lucky Charms”. LOL And may I just say that he can really pull off that short…body suit thingy that he was wearing. He was trying to be ridiculous, obviously, but I just kept thinking about what an awesome body he had. 🙂

Courtney: Mike is seriously doing a disservice to the women of the world by not capitalizing on his fab form.  Case in point: I’m not really a “leg” girl (most regulars here can tell you I’m a pec girl – especially if a guy can make them dance), but I was marveling at how RIPPED Mike’s quads and hamstrings are.  Meeeeooowwww.  The whole “riotously funny” act is just icing on the cake.  Seriously judges (more specifically Carrie Ann…and maybe Bruno) – you couldn’t have ridiculously overscored Mike the first two weeks so we could have kept him around a bit longer? I don’t know too many people who would have been upset if Wendy had gone home earlier 😉

Heidi’s Favorite Moment of the Night: Petra and Dmitry’s Dance to Josh Groban

Heidi: Okay, this clearly shows what a total SAP I am, but I just loved how Groban walked out there singing and Petra didn’t realize until Dmitry stopped her and pointed – the look on her face was just priceless. That woman is just an angel, I swear.

Courtney: I may have been rolling my eyes and saying “Surprise, surprise”, but I have to admit – Petra’s genuine look of surprise and delight was enough to make sitting through “You Raise Me Up” again worthwhile 🙂 Such a doll…her gratitude for everything in life is just beautiful. Wish we could have a celeb like her on every season!

The Absolute, Without a Doubt, Stupidest, Most Awkward Bit of the Entire Season, Maybe the Entire Series: Wendy Williams interviewing herself.

Heidi: And trust me when I say that it did NOT get less awkward on the second viewing. It might have been worse because you knew what was coming. For the love of god. The only thing I can’t decide is if watching her dance would have been worse…or better.

Courtney: Let me answer that last query of yours: it would have been worse to see her dance.  That was the only good thing about this gawdawful filler – at least we didn’t have to see her move awkwardly through another cha-cha, quickstep, or foxtrot.  But a singular version of Wendy is annoying enough – I did not need the plural.  And poor Tony had to sit there and play along with the whole shitshow.  FAIL.

The “Me? A Westler? Nope, Comedian is My Current Occupation” Award: Chris Jericho

Heidi: This dude proved to be one of the more intriguing and unexpected characters on this season. Some hard-ass wrestler dude? Nah, he’s a comedian who imitates Bruno and throws himself on the judges table so that Bruno can lay one on him. 🙂 The whole “rubbing my chest for no apparent reason” was just totally…right on. 🙂

Courtney: Just like I wish Mike could have stuck around longer, I really wish we could have seen more of Chris, too – the guy was just so darn LIKEABLE. And his impersonations were spot-on – he really captured the nuances of both Len & Bruno’s accents perfectly.  *sigh* Somehow I think this season would have been slightly less agonizing to watch had we gotten more of Chris…

Real World Problem Award: Kendra falling off the judges’ table at the end of her samba

Courtney: Fact: drunken ass-shaking on elevated surfaces seldom ends well for us common folk.  But you’d think with a bevy of strong, coordinated, muscular guys there to catch her after she dipped, that Kendra would be in no danger of this kind of mishap.  WRONGO-BONGO!!! I’m still trying to figure out how she managed to nearly fall & bust her head open with 5+ able-bodied men within arm’s reach.  Can’t decide if they were just distracted (Teddy) or apathetic (possibly Tristan…;-)).

Heidi: They were trying to dodge pinches from Bruno and got distracted. 🙂 HEY, it’s not out of the realm – dude has been WAY out of control all season long.

So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
