Sharna Burgess Writes On DWTS Last Night And Her Next Dance With Antonio Brown

Sharna Burgess writes that she is so proud of Antonio Brown and their Rumba last night on Dancing With The Stars, but, she understood and respected the judges criticisms. She also gives a sneak peek into next week’s dance. Here is more from Extra.

He and I do have a fantastic chemistry, and that will only get better throughout the show. But what we do have to work on is his technique, his finesse, and his flow of movement throughout the dancing. We have the foxtrot next week, and I really want to show that we have worked on all those elements by improving his frame and posture.

On top of all of that, I want to tell the story of his most memorable year the right way. He is doing the year he became a father for the first time, to his son Antonio Junior. I am excited about the concept I have and we will have his son dance in the number with us. I feel this will be a beautiful moment for the two of them.

I want Antonio and I to continue to focus in on each other and really enjoy every minute of it. I know he has the talent to go all the way to the end, and I know that he really wants to take that mirror ball back to Pittsburgh after Hines Ward. Looking forward to this week of rehearsals and more support from #TeamBoomin!”

Erin Andrews Writes Her Style Blog For DWTS Season 22 Week 2, Photos Behind The Scenes

Didn’t Erin Andrews look cute last night on Dancing With The Stars? And to think….at first she wasn’t sure about the dress she wore. More below from People.

Even though she was game to participate in the theme, Andrews had reservations about her Jonathan Simkhai dress. “I thought it would be a great dress for the ballroom but I was really worried it wasn’t ‘fancy’ enough,” she shares with PeopleStyle in her weekly blog. “But once Alyssa [Green, her stylist] paired it with the jewelry, shoes, hair and makeup, this look was fantastic. Perfect for Latin night. It was beautiful yet spicy.”

What made it so ideal was all in the sultry details: “The small cutout right above [the waist] gave it a sexy feel and I loved the slit; it was high enough to feel edgy, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable walking around in.”

Stylist Alyssa Greene “edged up” the look with an architectural Dior pump and swirling diamond Sylvie Collection jewels. “Erin looked like she could have been out there twirling alongside the best of them,” Greene says.

See People for more including some fun behind the scenes photos.

Emma Slater Writes On Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Week 2

Emma Slater has written a new blog for Hollywood Life reviewing the dances for Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Week 2. I think she’d make a great judge. What do you think? She’s so cute…

Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess
Antonio is so manly. Guiding Sharna around the dance floor, everything was clean and very raunchy. I definitely feel the fire! The Rumba is the hardest dance for a male celebrity and I think Sharna did a great job in coaching Antonio this week. His shoulders are a little high in places which bothered me a couple of times so he needs to learn to relax. I’m glad Bruno gave them a 7, I do think his efforts warranted one. Ok so it wasn’t the smoothest, why would we expect that though. This man is a burly football player! Credit where credits due. Personally, I can’t wait to see him jive and let lose in a dance that might be more his character. Scores for Antonio & Sharna: 6,6,7

Kim Fields & Sasha Farber
I’m so in love with Kim Fields and I know I sound so biased right now but it’s true!! I LOVE HER! The salsa tonight showed everyone that there is a real dancer in Kim. Her Salsa was so much sharper in the performance that during the camera blocking the day before. Unfortunately I did see that Kim lost her footing slightly towards the very end of the routine. But Kim, don’t let that bother you. I could see that she was disheartened. Let me tell you, In this show there will be many missed connections; Things go wrong and it wouldn’t be Dancing with the Stars without the mishaps. I think Kim & Sasha’s Salsa was very entertaining, and tonight she looked thebomb.com! The relationship been Kim & Sasha is endearing and I hope we get to this blossom even more throughout the season. Kim, I see your heart so easily. Scores for Kim & Sasha: 7,6,6

Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd
I absolutely loved the Rumba performed by Nyle & Peta. It was simply breathtaking. I have NO idea what Len was talking about. I didn’t think that dance was too hectic at all. Nyle’s arm movement at the beginning was beautiful and I can see the hard work that Peta has done. I have to commend her here, she’s done an amazing job. The judges went crazy! I almost wanted to throw my phone at the TV! Nyle I think you DID capture the tone of the dance, I think your lines are incredible, try now to watch out for those bent legs and high shoulders. I would have the same note as Antonio, just lower the shoulders and relax. But seriously, this dance was underscored and the not valued enough by the judges. His Lunges?! Beautiful. We’re we watching the same dance Bruno, Len & Carrie Ann? Well anyway, Nyle I’m clapping for you right now. Good job both of you. Scores for Nyle & Peta: 7,6,7

PureDWTS Season 22, Week 2 – Power Rankings

Houston, we have a fairly unsettling problem (and no, it’s not Von’s insanely loud farting) – we have at least four pros who seriously did their partners a disservice last night with lackluster choreography. Whether it was misinterpreting the dance, throwing in too much extraneous stuff, or just wasting time, I saw a lot of issues that could have easily been avoided had the pros in question just buckled down and stuck to the basics. And this is a carry-over from last week, when I saw at least two pros giving their partners some kinda shitty choreography.  Part of me wonders if the fact that the show’s best choreographer, Derek, isn’t there anymore to help keep the standard high is partially to blame – since nobody has to go toe-to-toe with Derek anymore, maybe some of the pros don’t feel the need to work as hard, and feel more comfortable just settling for mediocre choreography that busting their asses and cranking out something great.  Just a theory – and probably not one that will make me very popular, but it is what it is.

Last night saw the giddy high of the premiere cooling off quite a bit, and the judges tending more towards the nitpicky where some couples were concerned. Part of me thinks Len being gone last season has done him more harm than good – it’s almost as if he forgot a bit about some of the pros’ penchants for “messing about” and it’s almost like reopening an old wound for him – he’s extra-cranky about it again, and I don’t get the feeling he’s having as much fun as he used to. Time will tell, I suppose.

To almost no one’s surprise, Geraldo & Edyta left us – I feel like the right couple went home, and if nothing else, they left on the high of giving us a ridiculously entertaining (or just plain ridiculous, depending on how you look at it) dance. And to Geraldo’s credit – I think he had a lot of fun on the show, even if he wasn’t a stellar dancer. I saw a few folks complaining that Edyta deserved a “better partner” and shouldn’t have had to leave so early, and it just kinda floors me because EDYTA WAS GONE FOR 6 YEARS AND THE CHANCES WERE SLIM TO NONE THAT SHE WOULD EVEN BE INVITED BACK. Edyta fans, I would just be thankful she was on the show at all – because the split she had with the show back in 2010 was a pretty acrimonious one, from what I hear, and she had basically torpedoed any chance she may have had at coming back.  Seriously, they could’ve given her Verne Troyer as a partner and I think she would have been thankful for the opportunity. More and more, I’m just convinced that there is no pleasing some fans of this show… Read more..

Below is a Good Morning America recap and an interview with Geraldo Rivera and Edyta Sliwinska. They also check in with Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy. Also below are some Troupe bumbers. I can’t get enough of them this season. I hope Edyta joins them for the rest of the season. Special thanks to @Idolxfactor1 for all of his recordings. ETA: I loved what Geraldo said on Von Miller and how he calmed down his daughter last night after the elimination. Precious!

PureDWTS Season 22 Week 2 Media And Interviews After Dance Night

My, where do we start today? First off, can I say just a few words on Geraldo? I loved how he just laughed at himself and had a great time with his last dance. I loved his message to “get off the couch” and dance no matter what age you are or what injuries and surgeries you’ve had. Those are great words to live by and always remember. Thank you to Geraldo for dancing and bringing back our sweet Edyta Sliwinksa as well to the ballroom. More with Geraldo and Edyta below.

Ok, the scores from the official site….

Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas (sub Alan Bersten) (Salsa) 8-8-8 for a Total of 24
Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold (Salsa) 8-8-8 for a Total of 24
Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe (Samba) 7-7-7 for a Total of 21
Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy (Samba) 7-7-7 for a Total of 21
Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd (Rumba) 7-6-7 for a Total of 20
Von Miller & Witney Carson (Cha Cha) 7-6-7 for a Total of 20
Doug Flutie & Karina Smirnoff (Paso Doblé) 7-6-7 for a Total of 20
Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess (Rumba) 6-6-7 for a Total of 19
Kim Fields & Sasha Farber (Salsa) 7-6-6 for a Total of 19
Mischa Barton & Artem Chigvintsev (Cha Cha) 5-5-5 for a Total of 15
Geraldo Rivera & Edyta Sliwinska (Salsa) 5-4-4 for a Total of 13

And now for some Media. First off, don’t miss seeing ABC7 for some beautiful photos. Afterwards, see Stormy’s Tumbler page for all the DWTS All Access coverage. People talked with some of the contestants here and here (be watching those links as they may post more). Next, read Glamour for their complete report from the show. I loved what Tony Dovolani said on Geraldo.

Geraldo Rivera might have been in the top five of the worst contestants to ever compete on DWTS, but he was also one of the most beloved cast members. “I really enjoyed Geraldo,” said Tony Dovolani backstage. “He’s so friendly. He knew all of us, [all of] our names. He knew everything about us!” Echoed Sharna Burgess: “He’s so much fun, so down to earth, so sweet to everybody. It’s going to be a shame to see someone leave that really wants to be here.”

And let’s hope and pray Mark Ballas is going to be ok and bounce back….

Although UFC fighter Paige VanZant is tied for first place, it was a bittersweet victory following Mark Ballas’ back injury. “He’s going to have some more tests tomorrow,” revealed Paige. “It’s so up in the air. I didn’t find out I was doing the dance with Alan until two hours before the show.” Because Mark had to bow out, Paige had to quickly learn an alternate ending with new partner, Alan Bersten. “Mark [and I] had one trick where I kind of lift him [because] Mark’s a little closer to my size. Alan’s much bigger, [so] it just wouldn’t have worked. I didn’t even want to chance it.”
