Today Melissa Rycroft and Joey Fatone talked with WZZM13 about Dancing With The Stars. It’s great to see Melissa finally and Joey looks like he’s lost weight (just like Karina commented on The View today). Joey said he did Dancing With The Stars again because Melissa decided to do it. They love having the same partners again, but, they have been working on reinventing themselves. Interesting. Check them out…

USA Today has a great piece up of the Dancing With The Stars All Stars “getting back into the fray”. The stakes are high, the pros are more competitive going into this season, and there will be a “greater push for first-week heroics”. Everyone wants that mirror ball. There are some quotes from Tom Bergeron and a few of the celebrities as well. They’ve been sizing each other up at the rehearsal studios and there is a lot of smack talk. More below and at USA Today. “You have people who were the stars in their respective seasons,” says host Tom Bergeron. “With the stakes this high, there will be sweated spray tan all over the dance floor.”
The toll is all the greater with the passing of time. Lachey, now 36, realizes how long ago he won his Season 2 championship. “I’m six years older,” he says. “My knees are six years older, and my back. I’ve come to learn Advil is my friend.”
For every dancer there is a fascinating subplot as well. Marini will renew his dance rivalry with Shawn Johnson, who beat him out for the championship in Season 8. (“He’s coming after me, but I wouldn’t underestimate anybody,” says Johnson).
Meanwhile, Fatone and Ono are renewing their Season 4 duel in which Ono walked home with the trophy on the final night. “I got my eye on everyone,” says Fatone. “But I just don’t want Apolo to win again.”
The competitive flames rise even higher as most of the teams practice at the same L.A. location for the first time. “You’re trying to size everyone up,” says Fatone. “There’s a lot of smack talk. It’s highly entertaining.”
On result-night Tuesday, one All Star will be sent home. The fear of being the initial casualty calls for even a greater push for first-week heroics.
“Imagine how horrible it will be to the first person voted off. It’s not going to be fun for that person,” Bergeron says with a laugh. “I’ll try not to enjoy it too much.”
It is going to be horrible. I’m going to feel sorry for who ever goes home the first time. I wonder who it will be? Any last minute guesses? I’m going to guess it will be Melissa.

Kym Johnson and Joey Fatone told Access Hollywood it will be “full on dancing” for them when coming out of the gate that first time. Joey also talks of his greatest fear. Here is more for how they want to bring that magic back….
“I think the first out of the gate is where we’re not coming up with any schtick or gimmick, it’s full on dancing,” Joey told Access Hollywood at his and pro partner Kym Johnson’s rehearsal in Los Angeles this week. “I think the first number we’re gonna dance for everybody since they haven’t seen us in a while… Bring that magic back!”
“We’re going to blow your socks off,” Kym added.
“[My] biggest fear is being let go in the first week — I think that’s our biggest fear,” he told Access. “Honestly, we don’t want to go in the first week!”
Kym added, “Normally you get two weeks, but this time around, you know, the dance is very short so you don’t have a lot of time to really make a big impression and someone’s leaving that Tuesday. So you’ve got to really throw it all out there on the dance floor because someone’s leaving on Tuesday and no one wants it to be them.”
I hope it’s not these two going home the first week. That would be sad and I can’t even imagine it, can you?

Wow. Season 15 already! Can’t believe it. I wish they would draw dances out of a hat, and their dance order out of a hat as well, since I already see signs of some getting dances that favor them and others…not so much.
Everyone is dancing either Foxtrot or Cha Cha Cha. Sabrina’s challenge will be Foxtrot, so of course she gets Cha Cha. The reverse is true, possibly, for Drew and Foxtrot – meaning that he would also be a strong Cha Cha-er so he got Foxtrot. Good to see Kirstie get a Foxtrot, though, since all I remember about Kirstie is Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha. And a lot of talking.
Keep your eyes on this post…in the coming weeks we’ll be adding phone numbers, songs and dance order, as we get them (if we get them). I’m going to go out on a limb and bet that they give Shawn the Foxtrot (they already have one petite blonde doing a cha cha), Joey a Cha Cha (cuz the other boy bander is doing a foxtrot), and the rest?? Foxtrot, I think, because we already have five Cha Chas, six if I’m right about Joey.
ETA: Thanks Court, for the screenshot showing twitter, where Apolo blurted out his song for Cha Cha – dang, lucky, lucky, lucky. He’s going to be memorable with that song.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. On Entertianment Tonight, Season 13 champ J.R. Martinez makes some predictions for the Dancing With The Stars All Stars season. He says Derek Hough and Shawn Johnson are going to be “sick”. He also thinks Apolo Ono is going to be good and same with Gilles Marini. He likes Sabrina Bryan, but, he’s going with Helio Castroneves or Shawn Johnson to win it. Kym Johnson tells E News that she isn’t putting up with any of Joey’s nonsense. She’s been making him wear Cuban heels and he’s always complaining, but, the two are having a lot of fun. Below is more from E News including Kym’s thoughts on Gilles Marini being the one to beat. Be sure to see the link for more.
“He was a bit lazy season four,” Johnson said. “He didn’t wear them all the time and I let him get away with it, so it’s my fault. So now I’m cracking the whip a little more. I’m not taking any of his nonsense.”
Yikes.
At the moment, Johnson says, Gilles Marini is the one to beat. “He’s in there all the time and rehearsing,” she said. “And just look at him—he’s so handsome. I said to Joey, ‘You know, Gilles is going to take his shirt off.’ So Joey said he’s going to paint his abs on. I was like, ‘That’s not quite the same.'”
