DWTS Season 16 Rumor: Arianny Celeste Meeting At ABC With Producers To Dance?

Arianny Celeste had a meeting today with her manager at ABC studios. Maybe this is something and maybe it’s not, but, since she was rumored as being asked to dance in Dancing With The Stars in Season 11 and she also attended a show this past season (October 16, 2012), it kind of makes one wonder?

From her twitter:

See her site for a post and a picture of she and her manager from today.

In case you don’t know, Arianny is a model and a UFC octagon girl. You can read more on her here. Thanks to Courtney as she saw the tweet too and helped me with some UFC corrections.

Pretty…what do you think if there is something in the making?

Derek Hough and A Different Kind of Choreography (Video)

I thought I posted this days ago, but apparently it didn’t “take”. :::shrug:::

Derek, along with Mark, has often been the pro most likely to get creative in between seasons of DWTS –  and often in unusual ways.  This off season, he has a new and different kind of student: a robot. A company called Tosy asked Derek to help them choreograph mRobo, which is…well, you’ll have to see it for yourself.  Derek went to Las Vegas to attend CES 2013 on Thursday to help present the work (to date) he’s done with mRobo and it appears he had a really good time doing it.  You can see more pictures of the event at PureDerekHough.com.

Have we seen the last of Derek on DWTS? Seems like it, but you never know with this guy. He mentioned on twitter recently that he has some “incredible projects” he’s working on this year, but that they may take a while to achieve. Yes, vague as always – he’s also the most tight lipped of all the pros, both personally and professionally – but it does sort of imply that he won’t have time for DWTS. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

General Hospital Executive Producer Wants To Bring DWTS Val Chmerkovksiy Back To Soap Opera

Guess what? If scheduling works out, Dancing With The Stars pro Val Chmerkovksiy may be making a return to General Hospital. This time…to DANCE! Below is more from Access Hollywood.

“Yes, we would love to bring Val back,” Valentini told Access at the ABC post-Television Critics Association Winter Session 2013 bash in Pasadena, Calif., last week. “It’s a little trickier because of scheduling, but if we can bring back Val, you may see him do a little dance with Kelly Monaco.”

Val previously appeared on the soap alongside Kelly’s on-screen mom, Alexis, played by Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn.

This time around – if the scheduling works – the “DWTS” pro will appear at the Nurses’ Ball, the function spectacle-wearing nurse Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) is working hard to revive.

“Yep,” Valentini confirmed of the proposed storyline. “We’re crossing our fingers. That one is totally based on schedule. We love Val, he loves us, he had a lot of fun [last time on the show] working with Nancy.”

“Why not have Kelly and Val dance at the Nurses’ Ball,” actress Lisa Lo Cicero, who plays the newly-psychic Olivia Falconeri, told Access, when we ran into her at the ABC party.

Lisa said Val was on set when she filmed one of her more dramatic moments of Fall 2012 – when Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) threw Olivia down the stairs.

“What a doll,” Lisa said of the “DWTS” hunk. “He was there watching the day that I did the stunt where I got thrown down the stairs. It made us all nervous because we didn’t want to look like douches in front of Val… He’s pretty cool.”

For the full story and to read more details, see Access Hollywood.

Cool! I’m tempted to start watching this soap again. 😯

ADDING: The NY Press also interviewed Val. He talks of his music, Dance With Me Studios, General Hospital, Dancing With The Stars, and more. You can read it here. Below is a little take….

On a typical day, how many hours do you dance?
Unfortunately, not enough. I think I get all of my dancing out of the way during the season of Dancing with the Stars. This last season especially, I went through grueling training, not only as a teacher to Kelly [Monaco], but also as a partner. I would say I dance a good two to three hours a day. I only say that because I teach five hours a day. And I’m not one of those instructors who sits back and points fingers. I’m actually on the floor.

You also rap, and guest-starred on General Hospital. Are those things you want to pursue—singing and acting?
Yeah, music is my passion. I’ve played the violin for 15 years. In terms of hip-hop music, I grew up in New York and that’s how I learned English, through Biggie. For me, that genre is really familiar; I’m attracted to it. As a young kid, I loved poetry, so those two elements came together, and I started writing and creating hip-hop music. In terms of acting, I would love to pursue that as well. These are avenues that people, when they have an opportunity, jump at—and a lot them fail. I don’t want to do them just because I have some sort of celebrity status. I want to do them well.

How long do you plan on competing on Dancing with the Stars?
I have a respect for the show and am very thankful for it. Whatever opportunities I have now, yes, my talent has earned, but Dancing with the Stars opened them up for me. Even if I have other projects, my loyalty will always be to that show. Besides that, I think it’s an amazing show—and clearly millions of people enjoy it as well. So as long as they ask me, I’ll be back.

Maia Campbell on DWTS Season 16 – Rumor or Campaign??

Were any of you fans to “In The House“? Well, last night, a cast member of the show, Maia Campbell, tweeted this tweet below. The “you just never know” leaves a person wondering depending on it’s context? Though I’m thinking it’s just a campaign post. So, if this were to happen, would you like to see Maia Campbell on Dancing With The Stars? I think I’d be open to it. She might a great partner for Maks or Val. Heidi?

Heidi: I go back and forth. The way she wrote it almost seems like she’s pondering an offer, but odds are great that she’s just trying to get something going. And campaigning never works. 🙂 I’m guessing this is a campaign – but Vogue is right. We are right in the time frame when rumors start to come out and the producers are hitting it hard to find people to dance. Show starts in March, which means rehearsals start in late February, right? I don’t remember the exact date off the top of my head, but they are running out of time.

New Miss America Mallory Hagan Would Do Dancing With The Stars In A Heartbeat

“Extra’s” AJ Calloway interviewed the new Miss America, Mallory Hagan, in New York’s Times Square this week after her win. As Miss America fans know, she did an amazing tap dance for her talent routine. He asks her is she’d ever do Dancing With The Stars. She said she’d “be on it (Dancing With The Stars) in a heartbeat”. She raved about Cheryl Burke being a judge on Miss America and now she feels like they are “already friends”. Mallory points out how they haven’t ever had a Miss America on Dancing With The Stars. Wow, so true and I can see this happening. What’s more, I’d love it Mallory did Dancing With The Stars. What do you think? Let’s get Miss Heidi’s thoughts….

Heidi: I’m not a fan of Miss America, the pageant. Don’t hate it, just am not a fan. And that might be why I say that I can’t see it happening – I mean, what kind of viewership did the show get?? And is there any way that the pageant would give her the time to actually do the show? I doubt it very much. And if she has to wait for her reign to be over? Then she’s no longer relevant unless she parlays it into a higher profile gig. Hell, the Bachelor chicks are more famous than Miss America, I think. Sorry, Vogue – I don’t see it happening. 🙂

ADDING: Below is a new interview with Miss America and the WSJ Digital Network. They ask her about Dancing With The Stars and think it would be unfair if she danced. She defends herself and thinks it would be the best thing for the Miss America Organization. So true. I am so dreaming for this girl to dance!!
