Dancing with the Stars Season 28, Week SIX – Who’s Dancing What…and When??
Well, this week there is no theme that’s actually called out, but it seems like there should be one, when you look at the list of songs in the press release. 🙂
The show will open with the couples entering the ballroom to “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang. In addition, the cast of Dancing with the Stars – Live Tour 2020 will perform a dance choreographed by Emmy® Award-winning Mandy Moore. The nationwide tour kicks off Jan. 9 in Richmond, Virginia. Vying for America’s vote, each couple will dance to a variety of songs including Carrie Underwood’s “Southbound,” Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” Queen’s “Somebody to Love,” Stevie Wonder’s “Part-Time Lover,” Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved,” among others.
I would say 80’s if not for Carrie Underwood. I would say classics…if not for Carrie Underwood. I would say…well, never mind. 🙂 I guess we’re doing contemporary and jazz every week now – if only all the pros could choreograph a decent one. I thought Hannah was the favored one – that’s what everyone keeps telling me. But she’s got the hardest dance this week and hasn’t had a “gimme” dance in a couple weeks – if ever. Interesting that Lauren and Sailor get the contemporary and jazz, respectively. Everyone else has their work cut out for them. Although I think Kate will do well. I think Karamo is probably screwed. James should be fine…hopefully.
Ally and Sasha – Quickstep
Kel and Witney – Quickstep
S___ and Lindsay – Viennese Waltz
Kate and Pasha – Viennese Waltz
James and Emma – Samba
Hannah and Alan – Samba
Sailor and Val – Jazz
Lauren and Gleb – Contemporary
Karamo and Jenna – Rumba
Part of me thinks the judges are going to show us inadvertently who is getting votes and who isn’t. If Sailor gets a 10 all bets are off the judges want her to overcome certain fanbases as I believe Val can only get her so far unless she has a breakthrough. Also as far as Karamo goes I think he could give us a really nice Rumba, and I hope he does!
Okay so according to Alan, there is no theme. I found this out because Alan is documenting his experience this season with ET. He wrote, “I can tell you that there is no theme next Monday, but we’re going to be country-esque, if that’s a word. (It totally isn’t, hahaha),”. So there is no theme but Alan and Hannah’s samba is going to have country flair. That causes me to infer that they’ll most likely be dancing to Southbound. I linked the source where it says website so yeah.
Thanks, Cheryl. Very odd music choices though.
I think Karamo might do good with a rumba, depending on what Jenna gives him. Gleb, remains to be seen if he’ll just have Lauren stand there and dance around her or what. Kate does better with ballroom, so I’m expecting something good from her. Similarly, Sean shouldn’t do too shabby with a VW, but with both weeks being combined with scores, maybe they’ll low ball him enough and he’ll go. I really wish Lindsay could have gone to Kel or Karamo, because I feel they are being wasted with their partners.
I seriously thought Kel already had a quickstep. Honestly, I don’t know if I see any epic disasters this week.

Do we know yet if there are 10 weeks or 11 weeks this season.
Press release said Rumba for Karamo but he just said on the DWTS Instagram story that his next dance is contemporary
