Dancing In DWTS Season 29 – A “YES” For Kaitlyn Bristowe And A “NO” For Olivia Newton John

Wow, never did we expect this news so soon. According to ET Online, Kaitlyn Bristowe is dancing in the new season of Dancing With The Stars.

Kaitlyn Bristowe’s dancing dreams are coming true! The former Bachelorette got quite the surprise on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! when Chris Harrison told her she’d be competing on the upcoming 29th season of Dancing With the Stars.

The news comes three years after Bristowe claimed that she was offered a contract for DWTS, but was blocked from appearing on the show at the last minute by Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss, who allegedly “said he didn’t want people wanting fame after his show.” Bristowe was visibly shocked on Monday night when she found out she’d finally get her shot at the mirrorball trophy.

Not a casting rumor, but I found this interesting enough to be considered relevant to the current season.  Since I’m assuming Kaitlyn just found out that Nick Viall was confirmed to be a part of this season’s cast, I’m assuming what follows in in response…

So, in light of some conversations Heidi & I have been having recently about the subtle sexism we’ve seen on DWTS, I find this exchange quite interesting.  Granted, it was the creator of The Bachelor that allegedly told Kaitlyn she couldn’t do DWTS, but it still makes me wonder if DWTS has even bothered to reach out to any former Bachelorettes to extend an offer. Including Nick, we’ve now had FOUR former Bachelors on the show (Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, & Chris Soules being the other three), and only 1.5 Bachelorettes (Trista Sutter & Melissa Rycroft, who wasn’t even a Bachelorette – and she was a last-minute casting to replace Nancy O’Dell).  Even if it was a timing issue (Bachelorette tapes in the spring to air in the summer, Bachelor tapes in the summer to air in the fall) it still seems odd that they’ve never booked a Bachelorette on the fall season, when there wouldn’t be a conflict.

But really, if this is true, the reasoning Fleiss gave really chaps my ass – especially when you consider that Jake and Nick, in particular, were totally looking to extend their 15 minutes of fame by doing DWTS, and made no secret about it. I think it may have been more of a monetary thing for Sean & Chris, but still – they answered the call. I’m sure this dude will deny & deflect that the conversation ever happened, but I’d really love to hear his explanation for why it’s ok for Bachelors to “get famous off his show” and not Bachelorettes.  All ears, baby 😎 …Read more

DWTS Watchouts: Ben Higgins And Kaitlyn Bristowe To Dance In Season 22?

And so a new “Bachelor” for Dancing With The Stars rumor begins. E Online is reporting Ben Higgins is open to anything….and even to dancing on Dancing With The Stars. E Online also reports that Kaitlyn Bristowe (who was in talks to dance last season) is still open to the idea of dancing too. What do you think? Do you like the idea of these two dancing? I’m not sure, but, I think Ben is kind of cute? Heidi, what do you think?

Heidi: I think Kaitlyn blew her chance, actually. Most Bachelors/Bachelorettes are very old news by the time the “next season” rolls around. You have to strike while the iron is hot. Her iron ain’t so hot any more. Ben, on the other hand, will likely be VERY popular and I can see him on the show. Young, handsome, and down to earth (for now).  I like both of them and wouldn’t mind seeing them on the show, but I think Ben is the only one with a real shot…unless they take both of them since they “dated” on her season of the show.  Of course, both are in the “wishful thinking” category right now, and not in actual rumor territory – but I would be very surprised if Ben isn’t considered for next season. DWTS has a pattern. 😉

While the 27-year-old software salesman has yet to officially make his debut on The Bachelor (the premiere is on Monday, Jan. 4), Ben is already looking at life after his televised journey for love comes to end. And it may just include a trip to Dancing With the Stars’ ballroom for its next season.

When asked if he would ever consider joining DWTS while on a conference call with reporters, America’s most eligible bachelor had the perfect answer.

“I think I’m excited about what experiences are next in life. Just like I never expected to be on The Bachelorette, I never expected to be the Bachelor, I don’t know what to expect next and I’m open to anything,” he said. “I have a great life. I love my life here in Denver. I don’t want to chance my life, but if there’s opportunity to enhance it, I’m all for it!”

Translation: Ben is SO in if DWTS is.

Last season, Kaitlyn Bristowe was in talks to join the cast. While it ultimately didn’t happen, a source told us, “The timing isn’t right, but she loves the show and hopes to keep the door open for another season down the road.”

DWTS Season 21 Rumor: The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe To Dance?

Well, it was only a matter of time before this rumor was coming. Star Pulse is reporting The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe might be dancing on Dancing With The Stars Season 21. What do you think if true?

The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe hands out her final rose next week, and there are rumors that she may already have another reality TV gig in the works — Dancing with the Stars Season 21.

The 30-year-old dance instructor, who was thrilled to meet pro-dancer Derek Hough on Good Morning America before she started filming her season, would not be the first Bachelor franchise star to become a DWTS celebrity dancer.

Will Kaitlyn, who took third place on Chris Soules’ season of the Bachelor, follow in her ex-TV boyfriend’s footsteps? After Soules proposed to Whitney Bischoff on his farm in Iowa, he headed straight to L.A. to join the Season 20 cast of Dancing with the Stars.

Other Bachelor and Bachelorette stars who have danced their way into the spotlight are Melissa Rycroft (Jason Mesnick’s season), Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, and Trista Sutter.

Although spoilers indicate that Kaitlyn Bristowe gets engaged at the final rose ceremony on July 27, what she does for a living has never been revealed. Kaitlyn’s bio on ABC states she “dance instructor” — which would be a perfect “in” for DWTS — but there is no word on where teaches dance, or if this is a job she had long before she joined Chris Soules’ season of the Bachelor.

My thoughts: Everytime I’ve said “NO” to a Bachelor (which I feel like doing again this time), I end up liking them. And she sure looks great with Derek at the link. So, I’m keeping still this time. Though I doubt this info has much merit since it’s from a tabloid source.

DWTS Season 29 Watch Out: Dr. Anthony Fauci, Carole Baskin, Cuomo, Vince Neil, and Paris Jackson To Dance??

According to Brinkwire via the Daily Mail, the producers of Dancing With The Stars has asked Dr. Anthony Fauci, top infectious disease expert, to dance and he has said “No”. According to the same source, the producers are targeting Tiger King Joe Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin, former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe(which we know already), CNN’s Chris Cuomo, rocker Vince Neil, and Paris Jackson as well. A show source said: ‘Dr F.auci has become a national hero in the last few months, leading the charge for keeping Americans safe at the height of COVID-19. He became not only one of our most trusted faces on television, but also a man viewers looked to as an inspiration. And of course he could be good for ratings. Like Sean Spicer, he is a lightning rod.

‘So it was a natural step for show executives to reach out to him. Obviously they are aware that he has work responsibilities, but given that the show is likely to be recorded remotely it allows him the opportunity to train and dance in Washington.

‘The producers will be sad to hear he’s not interested, but they still hold out hope he will change his mind.’

ABC and DWTS bosses have stayed tight-lipped about how they will film the new series given coronavirus restrictions.

‘They still have a few weeks to make a decision about how the partners and their contestants will work together in the week and then perform for the live show. They are figuring out the logistics,’ the source said.

‘Currently there are no plans for a live audience attending the opening show at CBS Studios in Los Angeles. It is too dangerous and obviously a no go for the stars, especially with how hard unions are pushing safety for their clients.’

‘Currently with no vaccine, it is likely that the performers will pair together in limited quarantine, and then do their live performances via a video link. That is the safest option considered and allows the show to run in full until the final.

‘Judges too will either remotely present or perhaps attend a socially distanced studio.

‘But ABC are adamant that the show will air despite the problems.’

DWTS has not been afraid to delve into the political arena for contestants.

Last year former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer garnered huge publicity for the series as a contestant.

Other names being targeted for 2020 are Tiger King Joe Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin, former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe, CNN’s Chris Cuomo, rocker Vince Neil and Paris Jackson
