PureDWTS Season 27 Cast Rumors & Watchout: Is “Property Brother” Jonathan Scott Getting Ready to Dance?

Now this is a tricky one, because I can’t really tell if these outlets are just recycling through intel from past seasons, or if Jonathan is actually a possibility, considering both brothers were asked to do DWTS back in season 25 last fall, but Jonathan was too busy:

Jonathan Scott may be considering trading his work boots for dancing shoes.

The 40-year-old is being urged by brother Drew Scott to appear on the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Drew danced on the show in season 25 and made it to the finals.

Speaking with Hollywood Life about the show, Drew said: ‘Everyone wants to know. I’m pushing him. I want him to do it.’

The article goes on to talk about some good-natured rivalry between the brothers over who would do better on the show, and the Daily Mail parrots the same “no athletes this season” line that Good Housekeeping was reporting a month or so ago – which I’m extremely skeptical about, because I could see a season with zero athletes being…well, kind of boring, because having athletes guarantees you’ll have at least a few folks with the stamina & strength to do well. Athletes (particularly NFL stars) also seem to be open to the idea of DWTS, so if they’re cutting off that casting lifeline this season, good luck finding some halfway-decent competitors.  But I digress…

…do I think Jonathan is doing DWTS? Ehhh…I won’t say it’s a complete impossibility, because he was originally the brother they wanted for season 25; but it also feels a bit too recent to have Jonathan do the show and have it feel fresh & exciting.  Guess we’ll see…

PureDWTS 2018 Emmy Awards – Nomination Predictions/Live Blog

Once again, this has snuck up on us 😛 I will try to do a live blog tomorrow morning once the announcements are up, but it may end up being more of a “this is what was announced” post with a short lag time…we shall see.

I think part of the reason we kinda spaced this is because it looks to be slim pickin’s for DWTS this year – the shortened (and simplified) spring season means fewer eligible routines for the Outstanding Choreography category, and with World of Dance‘s first season now eligible, I think we could witness a reduction in nominees from SYTYCD, and DWTS being shut out of the category completely.  Additionally, part of me thinks that we may see WOD and possibly American Idol also picking up a few nominations in other categories (Outstanding Costume Design, Outstanding Makeup, Outstanding Hairstyling, Outanding Lighting Design, etc) that might have otherwise gone to DWTS – I don’t think the austerity measures that they appeared to take with the All-Athletes season helped, because they seemed to stick to simpler, “safer” hair, makeup, costuming, and staging.

As for Outstanding Reality TV Series/Reality Host – given that DWTS/Tom got shut out last year, I’m not optimistic they’ll somehow elbow their way back in this year, especially with WOD and AI in the mix; my guess is that RuPaul wins Outstanding Reality Host again, and RuPaul’s Drag Race could be the dark horse to win Outstanding Reality Series, with the boom in viewership they’ve experienced since moving the show from Logo to VH1. But I digress…

Maks Chmerkovskiy Talks On The Possibility Of Judging Dancing With The Stars, Why He’s Not Dancing, And More

Maks Chmerkovskiy was recently interviewed by Mass Live on his new dancing Confidential Tour with his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, and brother, Val Chmerkovskiy. He talks of what to expect of the show, but, in the interview, Maks also chats of why he decided not to dance in the new season of Dancing With The Stars and why he might not do so in the future…well,. unless it’s a “judging” gig. Read on…

Will you be returning to “Dancing With the Stars”?

Listen, I love the show, but I have other interests at the moment. I would have loved to judge and transition into that, but it’s not my call. It’s not up to me. Everything that is up to me, I do at 100 percent and then give it my all. I just don’t think I can do the show as a professional dancer at 100 percent and give it my all anymore. I am at a different point in my life.

I thought you brought a lot to the table as a guest judge. (Chmerkovskiy served as a guest judge several times between 2013 and 2016.)

Thank you. I appreciate that. I would love to do that gig. That’s my thing. That’s my medium (and) that’s what I know. I know exactly what I am looking at. I know exactly what I want it to be and exactly how to influence someone to do better in that genre. That’s what a judge should do, in addition to adding to the production. If that’s in my future, I would gladly accept it. If not, there are other opportunities. We are always moving forward.

I enjoyed Maks as a judge (he was totally entertaining), but, I loved Julianne Hough as a judge too. Both brought different things to the show as Judges. Maks was controversial and entertaining in a “Len” way while Julianne was so articulate, thoughtful, and good with words. I wish they’d hire them both. More at Mass Live. Let us know what you think in comments.

DWTS “Light Up The Night” Tour Bus Involved In Accident In Iowa, Show Cancelled Tonight

According to E Online, one of the tour buses from the Dancing With The Stars Tour has been in an accident. The cast and crew are ok though, but, I imagine shook up pretty bad and a few might have injuries. Keep your thoughts and prayers with them all, ok?

Hillyard tweeted the news, writing, “One of the Dancing with the Stars tour buses heading to Ames for a performance tonight was involved in the 70+ vehicle pileup on I-35 southbound. Cast and crew members are okay — some recovering from minor injuries. Their show is cancelled for tonight.”

The Dancing With the Stars Tour features celebs Jordan Fisher, Frankie Munoz, as well as pro dancers Sharna Burgess, Jenna Johnson, Alan Bersten and Hayley Erbert and others.

Following the fatal accident, Fisher tweeted, “Thanking God for the safety of our crew. Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes.”

DWTS “Light Up The Night” Tour Fan Photos, Cast Will Be On GMA On Thursday

Cindy was able to see the new Dancing With The Stars LIVE “Light Up The Night” Tour. If you go to her facebeook page HERE, you can see some fun photos. She said she loved the show. So much so, time went “too fast”. Awww. Below is a little more of what she wrote to us….

My favorite section was the Disney tribute. Sharna as Ariel and Gleb as Prince Eric was the highlight of the tribute. Cindy also loved Sasha and Emma’s dance together. Lindsay and Jordan’s dance was another highlight. Frankie is great with the audience. He’s so funny and has a great personality.

Other tidbits Cindy told us about is that there was new tour merchandise she hasn’t seen sold before. Besides clothing, there was a Sharna and Alan blanket and a fun bumper sticker. Cindy also said the cast of the tour will be on Good Morning America on Thursday (I don’t see this on the schedule, but, be on the watch out on Thursday or in the coming days in case there is something recorded). THANKS, Cindy! You rock!

Review Of The New Dancing With The Stars LIVE “Light Up The Night” Tour

Amanda who writes for PureSYTYCD.com, has written a review of the new Dancing With The Stars LIVE “Light Up The Night” tour. This show sounds really fun! Check out Amanda’s review below….

As a Christmas present to my mom and myself I purchased tickets to the Light up the Night Tour. It was our first DWTS tour show we’ve been able to attend and overall we had a great time at the show. I realized after I purchased the tickets we would be attending opening night of the tour, so I was prepared to maybe experience some glitches but thankfully there were none as far as the show was concerned. Due to some sort of seating issue I missed most of the opening number due to people blocking my view…so annoying. Anyway, on to my thoughts on the show.

The show started on time and fun what I did see it was a fun energetic number to start the show. I also noticed thanks to the program they brought in another female dancer(Morgan Larson) to take Witney’s spot in at least the pro centric numbers in the show. Frankie and Jordan welcome us to the show and each share how much they enjoyed being apart of the show. They also didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to take part in the tour. Honestly they picked two of the best contestants to join the tour. I loved getting see Jordan dance in person and watch him blend right in with the pros. However, I think I enjoyed getting to see Frankie more. Frankie was more of the MC of the show but we did get to see him perform so of his dances from this season with Hayley, Sharna, and Emma.

So here are some of my favorite moments of the show:

-*Seeing the pros just dance. It’s always great to see them in their element.

-That Mandy Moore snuck in a great contemporary piece, featuring Hayley, Alan, and Brandon. There was also a number with exercise balls. I could have done without it but it was still cool to watch.

-All of the Disney section.

-From finally seeing Sharna as Ariel to Jordan and Lindsay’s Fox Trot to “You’re Welcome.”

-My favorite Frankie moment also came in the Disney section. His Pirates of the Caribbean inspired Argentine Tango with an assist from Emma(who has quite the costume change).
Esha moments: I felt like we got a sneak peak at their wedding dance.

-Crowd interaction…well it was just Alan that made an entrance through the crowd and dance a little with someone. Wish there was more of that.

-The Costumes…during one of the video clips they mentioned how many pieces were on the tour. I don’t remember the number but it was enough to make me say wow. Also, the girls quick changes always impress me.

Overall the show was fantastic and I recommend going to a show if you have’t yet.
