Dancing with the Stars Movie Week Music

So, what did everyone think of the movie night music? From a DWTS music perspective, I’d say it was a little disappointing. My favorite part of DWTS music is when they introduce us to new songs. I’m not seeing really any songs on this list that I hadn’t heard before. Of course, that shouldn’t stop you from checking out the previous weeks’ Dancing with the Stars music for other music options.

Chynna & Tony danced a Tango to the song Theme from Mission: Impossible Mission Impossible (Theme) - The Essential Movie Soundtracks (40 Tracks)
David & Kym danced a Paso Doble to the song “The Raiders March” Raiders March - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) from Raiders of the Lost Ark
Carson & Anna danced a Viennese Waltz to the song “The Black Pearl” The Black Pearl - Pirates of the Caribbean (Original Soundtrack) from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Nancy & Tristan danced a Paso Doble to the song “Flash’s Theme” Flash's Theme - Flash Gordon (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture) from Flash Gordon—Queen
Hope & Maks danced a Foxtrot to the song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” You've Got a Friend In Me - Toy Story (An Original Walt Disney Records Soundtrack) from Toy Story—Randy Newman
Rob & Cheryl danced a Paso Doble to the song Theme from Superman Main Theme (From
Ricki & Derek danced a Tango to the song Theme from Psycho Theme from Psycho - Halloween
Chaz & Lacey danced a Paso Doble to the song “Gonna Fly Now” Gonna Fly Now - The Rocky Story from Rocky
J.R. & Karina danced a Foxtrot to the song “The Pink Panther Theme” The Pink Panther Theme - Greatest Hits - The Best of Henry Mancini (Remastered) from The Pink Panther

DWTS13 Week 4 Power Rankings

To begin, I’d like to thank the judges for screwing themselves, the couples, and us for starting the evening off being far too kind with their scores for Chynna – and thus throwing a wrench into tonight’s scoring, which was downright wacky. Seriously – on a night that had the potential to be reeeally good, the judges managed to turn everything into an absolute joke with some of their feedback. Thanks, stooges.

Aside from that nonsense, I actually thought everyone (with the exception of maybe Chynna) did pretty damn well.  Was it cheesy? Of course.  But that was half the fun of it 😉 As for my rankings, though – aside from my top 3, I have absolutely no effin’ clue who will go home.  Literally, I’ve been staring at the scores and my notes for 15 minutes and I’ve changed my mind about 15 times.  Thus I’d like to claim a rather large margin of error 😛

1.) Ricki & Derek – Ok, I will admit – I don’t think this tango was 10-worthy.  9-worthy? Definitely.  But I guess on a night like tonight, with the bar set so low by Chynna and the judges clearly adjusting their scoring to compensate – I can SORT OF understand how they ended up with a 29.  Doesn’t mean I think it’s right 🙂 Technique-wise, I do think this was the performance of the night – this was so damn CLEAN.  Performance-wise…I don’t think it was Ricki or Derek’s best dance, but I do kind of appreciate that they didn’t go the over-the-top, full-on cray-cray route in trying to embody the theme of Psycho.  The silhouette part at the beginning & end was a subtle, visually-striking homage to the movie.  With the points spread being so vast, and with the judges making it quite clear who their favorite is…I think I’ve got a better chance of firing a pistol into the night sky in fury and somehow hitting Carrie Ann in LA than these two do of going home.

2.) JR & Karina – I give up.  What is the judges’ problem with JR??? Seriously – the dude is probably the most likeable guy in the universe.  I’m talking basket-full-of-puppies likeable. Aaaaad…*drumroll please*…the dude can actually dance, too.  And look like he’s having a good time doing it! I’m baffled as to why it pains them so much to praise him, let alone score him properly.  I’m getting this bad feeling that if the judges don’t shape up, JR could be Ralph all over again.  Let’s hope I’m just being paranoid 😯 I actually thought this dance was strong in technique, entertainment, and theme – it stayed true to the theme without being over-the-top, much like Ricki & Derek’s tango.  Not sure what Carrie Ann was smoking when she said it “didn’t need to be funny” – clearly that bimbo hasn’t seen The Pink Panther.  What, was she expecting a repeat of his heart-wrenching rumba last week? SMH.  AAAANYWHOOOO…they got the pimp spot and the 2nd highest score of the night, and I can’t imagine there aren’t some fans that are as angry as I am who are voting their fingers off right now in protest.  I look forward to these two making CAI eat her words next week…and I hope she chokes on them. DWTS Kym Johnson Says Paso Doble Is Really Feeding David Arquette’s Energy

Kym Johnson has penned a new blog today at Ok Magazine. Without giving much away, she writes of her and David’s dance tonight. Since it’s “movie score week” and David is an actor, he’s even more into dancing and having fun with his character. She titles the blog: “Having a “Scream” With David Arquette!” Below are a couple of more teasers on the night. Be sure to read the full blog at the link because Kym writes of how they felt on last week’s dance and elimination. She also dishes on David’s fun barbecue this past weekend.

…And this week has been really good, we’ve got the Paso Doble which is one of my favorite dances. It’s really feeding David’s energy, especially because we’ve got the movie score week, so i feel like David’s going to feel more like he’s doing a big motion picture sort of thing. He’s taking on this character and we’re having a lot of fun doing it. The scores last week were great, I think he was really happy with how we danced. It went really well so he’s calm and he was more happy with how the dance went.

I’m so excited about doing our dance tonight, we have the best music, we’re both playing these characters, it’s just a really really fun night. Yesterday we had what we call “Show and Tell.” Everyone goes into the big studio and we sit down and watch everyone’s routines. We were watching everyone’s dances yesterday, and everyone was just so entertaining and so good.

Here is more of the interview with Tristan and Nancy from CNN. They talk more on the pressures of dancing and the differences in their personalities. Nancy gets Tristan to admit how nervous he gets too. They discuss how great it’s been getting to know all the other celebrities. They end the interview saying how thankful they are for all the support they’ve received.

Also, below is a little preview of Showbiz Tonight’s new interview with the two. AJ wants to see what “really” goes on behind closed doors…

DWTS13 Lacey Schwimmer On The Paso Doble: “Everything about this dance connects to Chaz” (Video)

Lacey tells ET that Chaz is loving the Paso Doble because “it’s aggressive and he can throw his boxing skills into it”. Chaz is more relaxed this week since he was able to get the steps down in a day. The Paso Doble has been much easier for him than last week’s dance. “Everything about this dance connects to Chaz”, says Lacey. ET also asks Chaz about Cher being in the audience and if she’ll be able to get him votes (dumb question and why do they have to put him on the spot like that? I’m not too sure Lacey handled it the best either? 😕 ).

People Magazine also interviewed Chaz. He’s really excited to have his Mom, Step Mom, and other family members in the audience tonight. Below is a take of him talking about it….

“It’s very exciting,” Bono says, noting that “my mom and my step mom Mary Bono Mack are coming, along with my aunt and uncle and my brother. It will be a real family affair.”

Though this will be Cher’s first trip to the ballroom, Bono says his mom has been “incredibly supportive” of him doing the show.

When the aches and pains of rehearsals were wreaking havoc on his knee, “she sent her acupuncturist and physical therapist over and that really helped me heal faster.” And, he adds, “She’s voting!”

“Dancing in front of 20 million people on live TV is nerve-wracking,” says Bono. But dancing in front of his mother? Not so scary, he says.

“The pressure of wanting to do good for all the people who are supporting me is so much more intense for me than having my family in the audience rooting for me,” Bono says. “It should be a very fun night.”

Indeed Chaz!! Can’t wait! 🙂

DWTS 2011 Rob Kardashian And Cheryl Burke On Their Progress, Their Paso Doble Rehearsals, And More (Video)

E Online caught up with Rob and Cheryl in rehearsals. First, they congratulate Rob for making it this far on Dancing With The Stars. As for this week, he’s got the steps down and the work ethic finally, but, working on the lines and getting into character for the Paso Doble has been challenging. Cheryl says she intends to keep “bossing him around”(PLEASE DO! lol Seriously though, if he listens to her and doesn’t give her any ego or grief, he just may be a dark horse in this competition?). More below including how he feels about his Sister’s dancing and her wedding as well.
