DWTS13, Week 5 – Courtney & Heidi Sing the 80s

Now that we’ve got your attention ;-), sorry to burst your bubble – but Heidi & I will not actually be singing the 80s. Sowwwwy 😛 But since we fancy ourselves 80s music enthusiasts (Heidi lived through all of them, and I lived through half…and I also got a big refresher during my Greek years in college), we thought we’d sit down and kick around a few ideas about what we can expect to see next week in the way of music, costuming, gimmicks, etc. Cause let’s face it: the 80s were effin’ RAD. 8) For those of you not fortunate enough to experience the decade of excess, please do the following before reading through this 80s primer: go watch Pretty in Pink & The Wedding Singer; run to the beauty supply store and pick up a crimping iron, a teasing comb, and some Aquanet; rent a Delorean for the weekend; and practice your moonwalk. Done that? Cowabunga!!! Read on…

Courtney: Not gonna lie: I am all kinds of pumped for this theme week 😀 Seriously, I’m gonna be like a kid on Christmas morning come Monday…I <3 the 80s! Ok, I think it’s safe to say that crimped & teased hair, scrunchies, acid-wash jeans, neon-rimmed sunglasses, parachute pants, and anything Michael Jackson-inspired are going to be par for the course next week.  Man, Mark would have had a costumegasm if he & Kristin had stuck around till next week! Oh, just think of the cheese…now I kinda wish that goober was still around 🙁

Heidi: Since when has Mark needed an 80’s theme in order to dress cray cray?? 🙂  Seriously though, Hope has Tango to a Bon Jovi song and Len’s been mean to her. I forsee a rocketship to the top of the leaderboard for her.  But which Bon Jovi?? You Give Love A Bad Name??  That sounds like a Tango to me.  Sounds like a sure thing to me.  Didn’t Derek choreograph a team dance to that song?? Or was it a similar one?   Anyway, just spare me from anything by Christopher Cross. Yuck. Read more..

The Dancing With The Stars Make-Up Team Releases Official Week 4 Behind The Scenes Photos

The Dancing With The Stars make-up team has released some official ‘behind the scenes’ photos of our couples during week 4. Below are just a few pictures. Be sure to see this link for lots more. Facebook account required.

Kym and Ricki with a hug before showtime….

I wonder how long it took to do Carson’s make-up and put his look together?

This has to be one of the prettiest pictures I’ve seen of Lacey….

Check out how they did Nancy’s eye lashes. Stunning!

If I had to choose my favorite costumes for last week, it would be Anna and Carson! Who would be your pick(s)? I also liked Ricki and Derek. Hope looked like a little China doll. Chynna was stunning in red!

More Dancing With The Stars Dr. Phil Show Teasers (3 More Videos)

Below are even more teasers for what is to come on Dr. Phil’s show on Monday with some of the cast of Dancing With The Stars. Dr. Phil is definitely out of his comfort zone. Carson does a priceless imitation of Nancy. Dr. Phil explains why he won’t do a Tango or dance on Dancing With The Stars. Too funny! Much more below….

If you haven’t seen the first Dr. Phil teasers, be sure to see this earlier posting.

DWTS13 Week 4 – The Cheesecake Awards!!

The cheese practically wrote itself this week, kids 🙂 Enjoy!

Brooke Burke Flub O’ the Week: Introducing Susan Boyle’s song as “Enchanted Melody” instead of “Unchained Melody”

Courtney: Must be the Righteous Brothers’ G-rated cousin Melvin that penned that gem, Brooke. Not that it really mattered, in the end – Susan was pitchy as hell and Peta & Val looked…seizure-y. ‘Twas a strange performance, all-around. I think enchanted woodland creatures flitting about the floor could have actually been an improvement.

Heidi: Susan Boyle saved Brooke’s flub O’ the Week from being the Flub O’ the Season by sucking so badly that no one probably remembers that Brooke screwed up to begin with. 🙂 I mean, WTF was that? Was it supposed to sound like that?? Problem with that song is, once you’ve heard it done extremely well by a great voice, everyone else has a hard time measuring up. Poor Susan – and she was so freakishly giddy to be on the show to begin with.  🙂

Carson Kressley Line O’ the Night: “Pirates are basically men in tight pants, with open shirts, running around looking for jewelry…I think I can handle that!”

Courtney: This man’s razor sharp wit never ceases to amaze me. The flirting with Storm, the swordfighting instructor, was just icing on the cake…as was his declaration of “Gimme those Louboutins!” as he charged at Anna with his sword. His literal sword…not his naughty one. He’s saving that for Storm 😉

Heidi: I’m sure he’d LIKE to “handle that” if you know what I mean and I think you do. 🙂 But even more fun from Carson was with the sword trainer they had. The swooning behind his back was hilarious. Read more..

Karina Smirnoff And J.R. Martinez On “True Beauty”, Their Bond, And Their Growth On Dancing With The Stars (Videos)

Ryan Seacrest interviewed J.R. and Karina on his radio show yesterday!! The two talk of how much fun they are having. Ryan was backstage at the show last week. He mentions all the support J.R. has from the cast. Karina hasn’t won a mirror ball trophy yet, but she doesn’t want to get caught up in the competition aspect of it all, because you miss out on all the fun memories. She tells Ryan, “We literally take one dance at a time, one day at a time. If there is a mirror ball trophy at the end of it, then it is going to be that much better and that much sweeter. If not, then it is all good because we are having a blast, but yes, I am planning to maybe break Derek’s [Hough] leg or something just in case!” More below on J.R.’s feelings and his story on Iraq and why he decided to dance in hoping to educate people on “true beauty”.

Below are Karina and J.R. being interview by E Online as well on his platform for dancing on the show, how they hope to keep growing, their special bond, and more….

So inspirational with a big heart as always!! Stay tuned for more because these two will be guests on The Ellen Show on Monday!

An old friend to Hope at KAPPTV in Yakima, Washington went into Maks’ and Hope’s rehearsals this week to interview them. They go over why she wanted to dance and face her fears of it. No matter how the Dancing With The Stars competition turns out now, Hope feels she’s accomplished facing those fears and how she did it for so many bigger reasons other than herself. You can see her and Maks practicing for their Tango as well. She looks so graceful and beautiful in a dress and heels. All this and more below. Stay tuned for part 2 on this interview on Monday.
