DWTS Season 13, Weeks 2 and 3 – The Cheesecake Awards!!

Yep, it’s a mashup folks. We didn’t get around to it last week, so we’re doing both weeks NOW!! 🙂  I’m feeling Bergeron-ian – I almost said LIVE!!!!! This is The CHEESECAKE AWARDS!!! :::cue music:::

From Week 2:

WTF? In Costuming Award – Female: Anna Trebunskaya

Heidi: 99 Luft Balloons Go By, nah nah nah nahnahnah! Sorry, everytime I saw that dress, that song went through my head. No, I don’t know what a “luft balloon” is, but I think the song was originally done in…German? Beats me. You know, all the pros have tics, Anna’s is tulle skirts with bizarro tops. Wasn’t her re-do dance in the finale with Evan a pale blue tulle concoction?? Not a fan. But I love Anna though.

Courtney: Ja, fräulein – “99 Luftballoons” was originally recorded in German by the band Nena.  And a “luftballoon” is really just a regular “toy” balloon…the song was written about what could happen if a bunch of balloons released in the sky were mistaken for some sort of nuclear weapon, triggering a nuclear war that results in the end of the world.  I feel deceived…it sounds like such a happy song…:-( You guys know I’m gonna be all over 80s week when it rolls around! But I digress.  Anna’s dress kinda reminded me of a gumball machine…but I dug it.  She looked like one of the extras from Hairspray. Strange as it may sound – it kinda worked for me.

Heidi: Dude, she’s RUSSIAN!! Don’t wind her up and then ask her to hit you! Word to the wise. 🙂

Courtney: Not to stereotype, but I think Carson is someone that’s probably more often on the giving end of slaps across the face than the receiving one.  I bet he can deliver one with the perfect amount of drama and style. 8)

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dance of the Day: Pre-Movie Theme review of Movie Theme circa Season 10

I thought it would be a nice idea to take a look back at a prior Movie Theme night, to review all of the dances that night, just to give us a sampling of what we will be enjoying… or cringing… when we watch on Monday.

So, we are looking back at DWTS Season 10, Week 5, definitely a night that gave us some memorable dances…. Some GOOD memories, and some very bad memories, and some that we may not really want to relive, but what the hey, it’s fun…

Since the producers LOVE to challenge the Pros and Celebrities by giving a constant stream of themes, we’re sure to see more. If the theme is a repeat from a prior season, like this one, PLEASE let me know the season and week, it’ll make looking up the dances. Thanks!!

DWTS 2011 Chaz Bono Getting Into The Best Shape He’s Ever Been In!

Access Hollywood has TWO new videos of Chaz and Lacey in their rehearsal studio. Chaz talks of all the weight he’s been losing while dancing. He says he’s getting himself into the best shape he’s ever been in.” They also talk of how Cher will be in the audience Monday night. The whole cast is excited. However, he doesn’t plan to dance to a Cher song. He won’t reveal the song choice, but, it’s “exciting” to him. I can’t embed the links, but, you view both videos at the link!! Bring it Chaz!!!

Picture above is of Chaz and Hope from the Dancing With The Stars make-up Team at facebook. Hope commented this week that she thinks Chaz is working the hardest from them all.

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Las Vegas Odds After The Third Dance

I can never figure out how the odds makers in Las Vegas work? Below is OLBG’s odds after the dances this week. I think they probably have the top four right, but, what about the rest? I’m not sure Rob deserves to be as high as he is? Should Carson be last? I don’t think so!! 😯

I do know I should have put money on JR and Ricki weeks and weeks ago.   Seriously, though, I think they’re closer. I think the probably have the top 4 partially right, although not necessarily in that order and the potential of Carson replacing any one of them is still high.  Depends on what the judges do re: Carson.

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Week 2 TV Ratings For Sept. 26-Oct. 2nd

So, last week, the Nielson’s TV Ratings posted at Zap2It, had Dancing With The Stars rated at #5 and #9. This week, the shows are listed at #6 and #8. Not much of a change there and still slightly low from past seasons. Like Heidi commented last week, this may be “the new normal or maybe the show is going to reverse to having the higher rated season during the spring when Football is no longer an option.” Time will tell. Note how the X Factor came up a little from it’s 19th and 20th positions last week. It still shocks me that the X Factor is at the bottom of the 20 listed. I have a feeling people weren’t very interested in the auditions, but, they will take more interest in the Boot Camp shows and what follows afterwards. Last Night’s X Factor was super good. Did anyone see it? What other shows are you watching and liking currently?
