DWTS Season 26, Week 1 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?
I knew there was something I was forgetting to do…. 🙂 Who’s dancing what? Or..Who’s dancing TO what? Or both.
Voting Note: As we reported a couple weeks ago, there are some changes in the voting, particularly for week 1, this season. Here’s what the ABC.com press release has to say about it.
For week one, the evening’s eliminations will be based on live viewer votes cast during the show’s live broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones, along with the judges’ scores. During the live season premiere broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones at 8:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, April 30, viewers may cast their votes for their favorite couples, with these votes helping determine the couples who will move on to the next episode. This vote will be online only via ABC.com, will open at the top of the live show and end shortly after the last couple dances. Then, at the end of the episode, overnight voting will open for phone, ABC.com and Facebook, which will factor into the week two eliminations. Toll-free phone voting will be open nationwide from the end of the live show until 5:00 a.m. EDT/2:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday. Online voting at ABC.com at http://dwtsvote.abc.go.com/ and on Facebook at http://bit.ly/2o1VO7b will open at the end of the live show and closes at 10:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday. During each voting window, when voting online at ABC.com or Facebook, viewers can reallocate their votes until the voting window closes.
Heidi Comment – if you are dancing LAST, it’s an extreme disadvantage this time out, so don’t get excited if your favorite is in the “pimp spot”. This first week, at least, is no pimpage at all in going last.

Love all the song choices except the one Johnny Damon got becuase i just don’t see it working out well. Adam’s song was fun and for some reason incant get the Stevie wonder song out of my head so Kareem hit the jackpot there. Arike and chris have the fun songs of the group in my opinion. Jamie and Jennie have awesome songs. The band is going to love those. Josh and mirai have really great ones too and they make you want to sing along. Which leaves me to the best song of the bunch….kinda levels the playing field a bit for tonya as well since it’s just the perfect ballad. As for scoring I guess I feel pretty confident that there will be a lot of 7s and 8s given out. I don’t think we will see anything lover than a 6 (at least I hope so).
Lower*
Adam and Jenna dancing to RuPaul’s Sissy That Walk! ????????????????????????????????????????????????
That song is so much fun to dance to or strut around the house pretending you’re on a catwalk.
????
Do you think there is less excitement for this season? I live close to the studio and have tried for tickets to the live taping for YEARS without any success – they sent a notice out earlier today that tickets for the premiere night were available and STILL are. Is it meh celebs, lack of the pros we all know and love?
I wonder if the ratings will reflect this…
Have any of the contestants tweeted their order of dance yet? Will be interesting to see who gets the “pimp/non-pimp” spot this season.
If I were to decide the dance order, I would put Adam first and Tonya last but I could totally see them putting Kareen or Johnny first.
They probably won’t know the order until Sunday or Monday.
I’m just confused. What would be a better order to dance – first
or last?
This week, going last is a disadvantage because they are eliminating two people at the end of the night per votes cast during the show. If you dance last tomorrow night, that means people have WAY less time to vote for you than they do for other people.
Sharna mentioned in her ig story that she is
Dancing last. Gulp!
Can anyone post a link of tonights episode to watch online?
