DWTS Season 17 Watchout: Jamie Lee Curtis And Kenny Rogers??

This just keeps getting more fascinating. Apparently, Derek and Cheryl’s publicist is now following Jamie Lee Curtis and Kenny Rogers. As far as we know, this publicist is not a publicist to anyone else on the show. So, …Question for you all: is she just randomly following people to “follow” them or is there some relation to her recent follows of rumored celebs Jack Osbourne and Amber Riley? Note: Brooke Burke Charvet mentioned Jamie Lee in a recent interview as wanting her to dance and Jamie has also been rumored to dance this season in the recent yogurt spokes person rumor. As for Kenny, he currently has a new album to promote that’s coming out soon. Let’s see what Miss Heidi thinks and you let us know too. Thanks to Linz for watching Derek’s publicist closely for us.

Heidi: Well, I tend to think she’s just following people to follow people. But the weird thing is is that the people she’s recently followed have all been rumored as contestants on the show. At one point or another. So, Did she meet Kenny and Jamie when she was at the photo shoot or rehearsals for the partners with her clients? Or is she following rumored people to throw us off the track? That’s another thing I mentioned to Vogue – is she really crazy enough to follow Derek and Cheryl’s partners before the announcement has been made? At this point she has to know people are watching. I think it’s entirely possible that we’re paying way too much attention publicists at this point. 🙂 I guess we find out in a few days!

Brooke Burke Charvet: Production Still Working Out Details For One Night Of Week Of DWTS

Oh, I was hoping when learning Brooke Burke Charvet was on KTLA this morning, she’d mention some teasers about Dancing With The Stars, but, she didn’t for the most part. All that Brooke mentioned is how excited she is for the new season and thinks it will be fun. She also said she has no idea who will be in the new cast. When they mention three names as rumors (John Stamos, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Abby Lee Miller), she seemed really excited about the first two and said “could be” and smiled to Abby Lee (scary, no just no). Brooke also mentions that she thinks one show a week will give the show longevity and that production is still working out the details. Brooke also plugs Sketchers and how for every pair you buy, another pair will be given to someone needy in the world. She discusses her cancer too and how she is cancer free now…. Read more..

Huffington Post Editor Tweets On New Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Contestant

Isn’t this interesting? Below is a tweet by Huffington Post assistant editor Megan Griffo. Anyone want to speculate who this might be if true? Thanks to @DWTSgossip for the fun find!!

DWTSrumor

Oh, how I’d love it if were Jamie Curtis!! I’m having “True Lies” flashbacks! Remember this??

John Stamos and Heidi Klum are also yogurt spokespersons. They’d be great “gets” too.

ADDING: PureDWTS reader Leslie comments that Lisa Kudrow is also a yogurt spokesperson. This is getting interesting. 🙂

ADDING 2: And PureDWTS reader Sandy is reporting these Yogurt spokespersons as possibilities as well: “Model Cheryl Teigs for Yoplait (I believe) and one name was very interesting… Chef Michael Symon (Co-host of ABC’s “The Chew” has partnered with Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt…. hmmmm”

ADDING 3: Hey All! The editor who wrote the tweet has written to let us know that it was “a joke”(a bad one) and that she doesn’t have any inside information on who is dancing. She apologized as well.

Jamie Lee Curtis Comes With A Hefty Price For Charity To Dance On Dancing With The Stars

Wow, wouldn’t it be cool if Dancing With The Stars could get Jamie Lee Curtis to dance? She wants a hefty price though which she’d give to charity. So, I doubt it will happen, do you? Also, check out her advise for the show in the last paragraph from E News below. I’d be all for it, would you?

“Never in a million years,” Curtis told us at Global Green’s 15th Annual Millennium Awards in Santa Monica. “I’ll tell you how I would do Dancing With the Stars. If they gave me a million dollars to give to charity…I would only do it if there was a big charity component. ”

But is she even a good dancer?

“Not like Jennifer Grey, I’m not,” laughed Curtis, who has admitted to previously turning down an offer to be on the show.

While we won’t be holding our breath for Curtis to make her Dancing debut anytime soon, she does have some interesting advice for the show’s ABC execs.

“They’ve just done 12 seasons, I think they should now take all the twelve winners and do a season,” she said. “They should do a Dancing All-Stars where they bring back everyone who won and make sure that they are not paired with any of the same people they were paired with originally.”

Heidi’s Note: Heh….since the show has been on 12 seasons and has been won only by Derek (3), Mark (2), Julianne (2), Cheryl (2), Kym (2) and Alec (1) there isn’t much choice for most of them to dance with someone they haven’t danced with before. 🙂 But other than that, there are a TON of reasons why it would be very hard, not the least of which is height, gender and personality. Other than that – great idea!! I like me and Derek’s idea better – a season with all dancers who have experience similar to Nicole, Mya, Sabrina, Mel B, etc.

Dancing With The Stars – Pick The New DWTS Season 12 Cast

How many of you have gone to the Official Dancing With The Stars site to actually vote for the new Season 12 cast? I have submitted my wish list several times (for David Cassidy and Susan Dey, lol). I’m not sure they will listen. But, hey, you never know??

I was noticing when I first submitted my wish list, I did so in a message box at one link. Well, unless I didn’t see it when they first posted the idea, now the site has it broken up in several “Catagories” for Actor/Actress, Singer, Athlete, Reality Star, Comedian, Model, and Other! So, now it really does make you wonder if they are listening being they needed it to be more “organized”?

Anyway, like voting for our favorite dancers each week when the show is airing, it might be just as important to get your votes in for who you’d like to see dancing on the show. Our votes speak in numbers as we’ve learned and even the hard way sometimes. So, be sure to do so when you get a moment and DON’T FORGET >>>>> HERE!! (yes, I’m just as insistent at home when there is something my husband needs to fix or attend to. lol) There are no rules or anything. Just leave your wish list (and as many people as you want) in the box provided under each catogory.

Taking a look at the posts in each catagory right now (and keep in mind, I could be missing some people), I would say Paul Byrom (for Singer) and Colleen Zenk (for Actress) have the most fans and popular “teams” working for them currently. Kelly Ripa, Shirley Jones, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Melanie Griffith are popular names being thrown around in the “Acting” catagory. Brett Favre and Cathy Rigby are popular in the “Athelete” catagory. Wes Hayden is popular in the “Reality” catagory. Jeff Foxworthy and Kathy Griffin’s names are popular the “Comedian” catagory. Heidi Klum is popular in the “Model” catagory.

It’s going to be interesting to see if any of these people get picked and/or agree to dancing on the show and if our voices were heard, isn’t it?!! Time will soon tell. 😉 xxx

DWTS, Season 11, Week 7 – Media Pump Ups Before The Show

Hi All!! Are you ready for tonight like I am? I’m still at a loss how this team competition will take place this week but I’m excited to see what they are planning. 🙂 Here are some takes from a cool interview with Kristi Yamaguchi from TV Guide giving us some insight for what is to come for her team. Be sure to read more at the link.

TVGuide.com: How’d you pick your team? I’m assuming you chose Mark.
Yamaguchi: Yes! We alternated with picks. Apolo won the coin toss, so he picked first and he picked Jennifer [Grey]. Then I knew I wanted Mark and Bristol [Palin], so I picked them. Apolo then picked Brandy and Maks [Chmerkovskiy]. I thought Rick [Fox] and Cheryl [Burke] had been doing great all season long, so they were my next pick. And then Apolo picked Kurt [Warner], and I got Kyle [Massey]. I love Kyle. He’s such a great performer and I think that’s going to bring a lot to the table, especially in the group dance.

TVGuide.com: What does your job as team captain entail?Yamaguchi: well, no choreography! I’m trying to inspire and motivate them, like “This is what Mark and I was thinking during our dance and that’s what inspired us, so hopefully you can channel that as well and go for it.” And hopefully just bringing out the best of what each other them has.

TVGuide.com: What advice have you given them?
Yamaguchi: Of course for Bristol, it’s, “Hey, you’ve got it! Be confident!” I want to see her break out of her shell and come out and just dance and enjoy it. She needs to let go, which is something I had to learn on the show, so I can identify with that. Kyle — I just want him to have fun and bring the house down. Rick — the cha-cha is a flirty and sexy dance, and I think he can bring all those elements. We’ve got a great song. It’s high-energy and it’s got attitude, and that’s what I want from them.

TVGuide.com: Do you think the cha-cha is a good choice?
Yamaguchi: Definitely! I loved it when I did it! It was probably one of my favorite dances. It’s a fun dance and it’s all about performance, so I think it’s perfect for a group dance. I think our goal is just selling it. Technique will be there. Most of them have done the cha-cha. Kyle and Bristol have and they were great. We want to get the fan votes. We’re the underdogs. We’ve been calling ourselves the underdog team, so we want to do get out there, bring some attitude, and do something entertaining and fun.

TVGuide.com: What do you think of the season so far?
Yamaguchi: Season’s been good. There have been some ups and downs, so it’ll be interesting to see who’s going to bring it each week. It’s still kind of up in the air with who the finalists will be. I don’t know if I was shocked, but surprised that Audrina [Patridge] left. She was in second place in the scores. It’s tough. There are so many factors that go into it that it’s hard to predict.

As many of you have noticed, Jamie Lee Curtis has been a big fan to the show this year and giving her friend, Jennifer Grey, much support in the audience. Here is what she told Access Hollywood in a new interview. Note for what she says on the Judges comments last week and her feelings.

Although she may dislike wearing polyester costumes, the “You Again” star certainly enjoys watching them waltz across the dance floor – the actress has become a staple at the “Dancing with the Stars” stage.

“I’m so into [‘Dancing with the Stars’],” Jamie Lee raved. “It’s crazy town! I’m completely into it. I’m completely into it!”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jamie Lee got hooked on the ABC dancing competition while showing support for her friend, actress and Season 11 “Dancing” contender, Jennifer Grey.

“The idea of a couple of my friends sitting there with me every week would make me feel a lot better,” Jamie Lee told Access. “I’m happy to be able to be [Jennifer’s] support.”

Jennifer, 50, has hovered near the top of the leaderboard since the competition began in September, but received a rather harsh critique from the show’s judges on Monday following her shaky Paso Doble performance with professional partner Derek Hough.

“I felt the [judges’] comments were a little pointed, if you will,” Jamie Lee told Access. “I joined the chorus of booing [in the audience], but I also understand that that’s a little bit the nature of the beast.

“Jennifer weathered [the criticism] beautifully and she is going to be fantastic,” she added. “She is representing women over 50 and killing it and I’m just so proud of her. Thrilled for her!”
