It’s that time again – to see what all of you made of what you saw on GMA this morning and try to predict who will win this season, as well as share with us who your favorite couple is, based on first impressions. DISCLAIMER: if you are just here to bitch & moan about “we haven’t even seen them dance yet!!!”, you are going to get deleted. Had about enough of snooty, holier-than-thou comments lately, and some of us are just here to have fun. You can go be unfun over there…the rest of us are having a party over here. 🙂
Be sure to let us know in the comments how you voted and why!
Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.
If you head to the Daily Mail, you can view some new photos of Maks Chmerkovskiy And Peta Murgatroyd. Maks also talked with KTLA today (see below) about the new season of Dancing With The Stars (Thanks to DWTSgossip for this find). I love what he said on Peta.

USA Today has a great feature up with the new cast of Dancing With The Stars Season 21. Executive Rob Wade talks on the cast. Some of the cast also speak about dancing on the show.
Less than two weeks ago, National Guard specialist Skarlatos “was on a train in France (and now) he’s become a genuine national hero. It’s very exciting that we can have someone like this on this season,” says executive producer Rob Wade, adding that Skarlatos is representing his close friends and fellow heroes Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler.
Season 21’s celebrities also include controversial celebrity chef Paula Deen and the contest’s first married competitors, Alexa PenaVega (Nashville, Spy Kids franchise) and Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush).
Don’t expect any competitive trash-talking in the PenaVega household. If the two faced elimination, “I would want to be the one voted off because … I want him to do well. But he also wants me to do well,” Alexa PenaVega says. “We’re not good at being competitive.”
There is a friendly wager, she says during a joint interview with Carlos. “If I go further in this competition, he has to salsa with me whenever I want.”
The two actor/singers were approached simultaneously but separately about appearing. (Jewel and her then-husband, Ty Murray, were supposed to be the first married celebrity competitors during Season 8, but a training injury forced her to cancel her appearance.)
“This opportunity to learn something brand new and challenge ourselves really drew us to” say yes, Carlos PenaVega says.

Also, don’t miss reading this People article as well for a few more thoughts from the cast. Here is just a little take from the link. You know where to go for more.
“This is going to be more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile,” Irwin told PEOPLE, who exclusively broke the news of her casting. Still, the 17-year-old revealed that she will use this “new and exciting adventure” as a way to pay tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin.
“My dad will always be with me in spirit,” Irwin said. “Embarking on this journey, I really want to make him as proud as possible.”
Helping her along that journey will be her partner, Derek Hough, who described the teenage wildlife conservationist as “a breath of fresh air.”

Good Reveal Day morning, Ya’ll!! Finally the tedium of the Day by Day (kinda sorta) reveal is over and it will all be out there for everyone to obsess over. If you haven’t been here in a while, or have never been here before, please do us the courtesy of reading the DWTS Season 21 Reveal Day-by-Day post and ALL of the comments before commenting here. It’s not fun for us to answer questions that have been asked (and answered) 500 times. ESPECIALLY if it’s something easily googled. Really, people, google is a wonderful thing. I’ve also added links to previous posts for couples that were revealed previously, so you have them for easy reference.
ETA: Figured out why Derek, at least, isn’t in NYC. His new TV show with Julianne and Maria Menounos started shooting last night. Yes, they turned their holiday dance battles into an ABC show. Very enterprising people, the Houghs…and Maria. I would imagine that the pros who are not present had other plans – and the power to say “can’t do it”. Or perhaps rehearsing with the celeb out of town who had previous plans, ala Allison.
ETA2: They brought out most of the announced celebs – those who could be there, obviously – and same with the pros. Looked like Val was expecting more of an ovation.
ETA3: Okay, I confess, Paula is cracking me up. Oh, look, the last celeb is down there!

*My old research has Val at 5’9″ but I met him in the middle since Google has grown him since then. 🙂 All heights are approximate. As I noted the other day – anyone can make any claim they want on the internet.
I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
Andy Grammer talked with Billboard about dancing on Dancing With The Stars. Currently, he feels he’s bit off more than he can chew. Rehearsals have started and they have been rehearsing for 6 hours a day. He explains below as well as why he decided to do the show (awww, I love this guy!).
The 31-year old entertainer said he has already started rehearsing, and it has been intense given his touring schedule.
“Honestly, I bit off more than I could chew and now I’m chewing really fast,” he laughed. “Right now I’m in Minnesota and I just had a six-hour dance rehearsal. My partner is flying out to the shows with me, so I’m still pretty much touring and then going to make sure that I am home on Monday for the show every week.”
Grammer was offered the opportunity after two successful appearances last season performing his hit song, “Honey I’m Good,” which topped several charts including the Billboard Hot 100 chart where it reached the No. 9.
“The second time that I went and did the show there was a vibe, [and I thought] maybe this would work,” he said.
The vibe he felt, he explained, was the presence of his mother, who sadly passed away before she had the opportunity to see her son on the show.
“It just reminded me of my mom being there. She really loved to dance. [This was] one of her favorite things to watch on TV,” he said. “I know she would have loved to have been a part of this to see it. That was one of the main reasons I decided to do the show.”
He expressed his feelings on Instagram and Facebook, writing that “anyone who knew my mother, knows she LOVED dance.”
“There is something in me on a personal level that was like, I should make this happen,” he said. “It’s hard to feel super connected to people who passed away and this is one of the ways. Just being in that building made me feel that way.”
Another advantage to appearing on the show: his new single, “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)” is sure to gain significant traction, since it will impact at top 40 and Hot AC radio on Sept. 14 — the day DWTS premieres. The song will also be included on a new deluxe version of Grammer’s sophomore album Magazines or Novels, which is set for a releas on S-Curve Records Nov. 6.
For the full interview, see Billboard.

Below is Jimmy Kimmel’s official announcement of Gary Busey to dance on Dancing With The Stars Season 21. I was hoping this might be a joke, but, E Online says it’s not. LOL to him “not having anything else to do.”
ETA: According to @DWTS360, Lindsay Arnold is not Gary’s partner like many are speculating. Another pro might be coming back.
