Dancing with the Stars Season 21, Week 3 – LIVE BLOG

No longer cruising, but recovering from cruising. ?   I also find I’m watching the show with an eye to the crap they are going to pull and any “fun with editing” games they might play. Once again, I suggest that everyone watch “UNReal” to get a better idea of how I think this show probably looks behind the scenes. Yeah, it based on The Bachelor, but reality shows have a lot in common and that is a distinct lack of….reality. 🙂 DWTS is likely not as bad as UNReal, but I can think of a couple very glaring examples of how it is very much like it. Can you?

Anyway, T-minus 15 minutes to showtime. Who are we looking forward to? I’m open.

That was all right. I though there were a couple messy spots. Carlos is having the age old (male) problem of not wanting to follow a female choreographer. He best get over it.

Forgot to mention until I saw a similar comment in the comments…. but I hope Mandy isn’t holding her breath for an Emmy nomination. Seriously, another all female bump and grind? Only difference is the costume. Read more..

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

PureDWTS Season 21, Week 3 – TMZ Claims Kim Zolciak “Will Not Dance Tonight”

Take it with a grain of salt, as the show tends to play items like this pretty close to the chest – cause DRAMA, y’all – but TMZ is reporting that Kim will not dance on tonight’s show after her mini stroke last week:

Kim Zolciak will not appear on Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” because she’s unable to leave Atlanta after her medical emergency … TMZ has learned.

As we reported, Kim flew back to Atlanta after last week’s show and almost immediately went into the hospital … she says because of a mini-stroke. We’re told she had a heart procedure Friday and was released, but doctors advised her not to do anything strenuous or travel.

We’re told Kim will appear on the show via FaceTime. Her long-term prognosis on the show is uncertain.

While it seems rather obvious (to those of us capable of intelligent thought, at least) that there’s just no way for Kim to dance, I would fully expect TPTB to keep pushing the “Will Kim dance or not???” suspense up until the end of the show, when they will inevitably announce that she’s withdrawing – I just don’t see any possible way for her to continue.  But best wishes to Kim as she heals, surrounded by family 🙂

Hayes Grier Excited to Dance Tonight On Dancing With The Stars – “More Going On Than Ever”

Hayes Grier has written a new blog at Access Hollywood. He talks about his and Emma’s new dance for tonight. Read on….

This week’s dance is the jive, and it has been so challenging because there is more going on than ever in this routine! There are so many steps, quick steps, kicks, arms, everything is involved in this jive! Tons of moves to remember.

I’m pushing harder than ever with this routine and for that top spot. Emma really got something special with this one. The jive is so hard, but so much fun. Tonight’s theme is TV shows, and we get to dance to one of my favorite cartoons growing up – “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”!

Sharna Burgess Chats On Nick Carter’s Challenges As A Ballroom Dancer And More On Dancing With The Stars

Sharna Burgess talked with One Avenue TV about her Dancing With The Stars partnership with Nick Carter. Below she answers questions about what it was like to find out she was dancing with a Backstreet Boy and how much he contributes to their dance themes and moves.

As all of us wonder, we did ask her that did she ever think she will be dancing with a Backstreet boy ever?

“Oh my goodness,no! Growing up as a 13 yr old I was a huge fan as a teenager and used to copy their dance moves and never thought in a million years that I will be on DWTS one day and end up dancing with Nick Carter. We get celebrities on show and sometimes I am not familiar with them as I have not grown up with them, or not heard of them since I am from Australia, but, Nick Carter is certainly someone I know very well. It is surreal to think that one minute I am copying his dance steps when I am 13 and next minute I am teaching him how to dance for a competition on Dancing With The Stars.”

Nick being an entertainer with his dance experience on his Backstreet Boy days, does he contributes in thinking over the dance themes/moves with Sharna or no?

“When it comes to ballroom dancing, Nick has no idea about it and has not much to contribute. With cha cha we had a backstreet tribute. It excited me and we threw it in there and he trusts me to make the decision as far as the dancing goes. It’s a whole different ball game when singing, dancing at same time and then, dancing on a competition. It’s a completely different style of dance than to what he is used to.”

“Even after having issues on Monday night, I was proud of Nick as he kept going, shows he is a true entertainer”
