The Dancing Poetry Corner – The Hometown Glory Map – Part One

The Hometown Glory Map – Part One

What a refreshing two-night extravaganza we had on Dancing With the Stars! It was certainly a grueling two nights to learn two brand new dances. But, the theme of The Hometown Glory resonated in our hearts.

Thinking of my hometown, McAlisterville, PA. I have actually lived here three times, coming and going. My first time of course from birth until I got married. I lived with my parents until I got married. I moved away to other locations but my late husband and I moved back to town for a few years. We moved away again to another location. He died there and I moved in with my sister in another location. We decided four years ago to move back to our hometown, so here we are, I imagine to live out our lives here. When I think about it, it seems like a whirlwind, moving eight times and now I am home again.

The celebrities got their turn first to go back to their hometowns. It was so heartwarming to see more about them growing up and their reasons for choosing the songs they did for their dances. I loved The Hometown Glory Week and I hope it is repeated sometime. It was similar to The Most Memorable Year. Both themes take us inside the lives of the celebrities and allow us to get to know them better.

This show didn’t have an opening, so let me take you into the descriptions of the dances on:

Carrie Ann Inaba And Julianne Hough Blog On DWTS Season 21 week 2

What a week it’s been! I REALLY hope the producers kick this idea to the curb, and NEVER re-visit the thought again! Giving the couples TWO dances in only week 2 of the competition really was cruel and unusual punishment that not one of the pairs on the show deserve! And if I heard Witney correctly in her After Buzz interview, it was a complete surprise. Not fair, I think, to dump something like that on them at the last moment. And while I’m complaining, why does it seem that some of the couples were allowed to go rehearse Monday night, and others weren’t? I’m just going by Julianne’s question to Tamar and Val, when she asked if they went to practice, because what she’d commented on Monday seems to have been fixed. I know from Carlos and Alexa’s blog posts, both wanted and asked to go rehearse after the show Monday, and were told the rehearsal spaces were all closed. So, did anyone get to practice?

Moving on…..

Julianne’s style blog has moved from People to InStyle, which seems to be a better fit, since it’s a blog about FASHION! She’s got a blog up for Monday, and another one for Tuesday, so go and check both of them out! There’s behind the scenes photos with her dogs, too. It’s amazing how different she looked both nights. Which night do you prefer? I loved her look on Monday, it felt soft, and romantic, while Tuesday seemed a lot more edgy, and while I like when her team plays up her eyes to make them “pop,” there was something I just didn’t like about the look on Tuesday. Dancing With The Stars Season 21’s Kim Zolciak Has Mini Stroke

Kim Zolciak posted this instagram this early morning. Apparently, she had a min-stroke last night, but, she’s ok. I wonder what this will mean for Dancing With The Stars and if she will continue?

kimzolciakbiermann: The last 24hrs have been whirlwind! I landed yesterday morning from LAX (took the red eye right after DWTS) I got home and within minutes suffered a TIA (mini stroke) the left side of my body went completely numb and my speech was gone. Extremely grateful for @sladeosborne @briellebiermann @nikitpressley @kroybiermann for quick reactions! I have 100%of my feeling back THANK GOD. Still in the hospital but I just know I’m getting released today #CrazyAgeDoesntMatter

ETA: For an update on Kim currently, see E Online. Here is a quote on her current condition as of 6:30pm-ish ET. Let’s hope she’s going to be ok and be let out of the hospital soon.

A source tells E! News that Kim is still in the hospital and most likely, she will not be released tonight. Her Dancing With the Stars partner, Tony Dovolani, has been also spotted visiting her.

While Kim recovers, her future on the ABC Show is still unclear and we’re told that, when she does get released, a doctor will have to sign off on her returning to the show.

ETA2: Here is an update from Good Morning America. Thanks to @Idolxfactor for recording….

ETA3: Another update from E Online…. Read more..

More Afterbuzz TV Interviews With The Cast Of Dancing With The Stars Week 2 Night 2 And More

Good Day, All! Afterbuzz TV posted a few more interviews in the night. You can watch them below. The only couple to reveal their new dance and theme for next week is Andy and Allison for what they revealed yesterday in Andy’s blog. They also hope they can redeem themselves with their jive. Louis also hints that their dance is about an old married couple on a little Island and that JC might be too young to remember what the show it is. In a few other things, Witney Carson says they have to be ready for the next “surprise” of the season because you never know what the producers will throw at them next. Lindsay is hoping to tighten up Alek’s moves. Mark talks of how emotional it was to dance on Tuesday while dancing to a “sacred” song to him. Paula is so cute as she passes out her cookies to everyone. Lots more below. Great interviews by JC Rubio again. Also, check out the Daily Mail and Got Pap for some new rehearsal arrival photos from yesterday.
